62: Chapter 62 An Unreasonable Request

A full-service package?

These words were uttered casually from Lin Yuan's mouth.

But in the ears of Wei Jiancheng, He Yicheng, and Yang Lin, they carried an absurd amount of weight.

They had spent most of their lives in scientific research, yet they had never heard—nor dared to imagine—anyone using such a term to describe the delivery of a technical solution.

What was the norm in scientific research?

It was taking a vague direction and investing top-tier teams of countless people to trial and error without sleep or rest.

It was a situation where nine out of ten paths were dead ends.

To be lucky enough to find the one path that worked was already worth burning incense and praying to thank the ancestors for providing a livelihood.

Even though the theoretical framework Lin Yuan had previously provided was already precise to a staggering degree...

From theory to engineering implementation, the specific manufacturing processes, assembly parameters, and debugging procedures in between still required their respective teams to grind through them step by step.

This wasn't a question of ability, but an objective law of scientific research.

They were already grinding, and they considered their progress to be quite fast.

But what did a "full-service package" imply?

It meant that every one of those engineering challenges they were gradually tackling had already been solved in advance.

It wasn't giving you a key and letting you find the keyhole yourself; it was unlocking the door for you, pushing it open, and paving the road ahead.

You only needed to lift your foot and walk through.

Wei Jiancheng's thumb slowly stroked the metal casing of the hard drive.

His rough fingertip brushed against the alloy surface, making a sound so faint it was almost inaudible.

He didn't speak.

It wasn't that he didn't want to, but for a moment, he simply didn't know where to start.

He Yicheng stood quietly in place, his left hand supporting the hard drive while his right index finger traced the edge of the drive twice.

He looked up, his gaze locking tightly onto Lin Yuan's face.

After a long while, he squeezed two words out of his dry throat.

"The full set?"

Lin Yuan leaned back in his chair, hands resting on the armrests in a relaxed posture.

"The full set."

His answer was clean, sharp, and without a hint of hesitation.

He Yicheng's Adam's apple bobbed violently, and then he fell into an even deeper silence.

Opposite him, Yang Lin held the hard drive, staring down at the label for several seconds before suddenly raising a hand to rub his face vigorously.

The gesture was not very dignified.

But he couldn't care less.

The Millisecond-level joint tuning algorithm for the six-degree-of-freedom magnetic levitation workpiece stage.

His team had been fighting a hard battle in this direction for several days; the algorithmic framework was built, but parameter optimization was a bottomless pit that could never be filled.

Every time they thought it was about to converge, changing a boundary condition would cause the data to collapse into a mess, forcing them to start over.

According to the normal R&D pace, it would take a considerable amount of time to refine this algorithm into a fully usable state.

But if Lin Yuan really provided the full implementation plan...

That "considerable amount of time" could be cut down significantly.

The three titan-level figures had different thoughts, but one thing was common—

No one questioned the authenticity of this data.

There was no need.

Firstly, the theoretical system Lin Yuan had previously provided had been repeatedly verified by their respective teams; every formula and every derivation was outrageously precise.

This credibility had been hard-won through solid technical substance.

Secondly, and for the simplest reason: the hard drive was in their hands. Once they went back and plugged it in, the truth would be revealed immediately.

Who would lie about such a thing?

Lying would be pointless.

Chen Jingshan stood to the side with his hands behind his back, his gaze lingering on the three hard drives for a moment.

The head of the Xia Academy of Sciences didn't speak, but the waves of shock churning in his chest were not a bit less than those of the three directors.

He knew all too well how difficult the "engineering" stage was.

Turning theory into reality had always been the most brutal meat grinder on the path of scientific research.

Throughout history, how many brilliant theories had died a lonely death because they "couldn't be manufactured"?

But Lin Yuan...

He had actually paved even this most rugged road into a smooth highway in advance.

Just how terrifying was this young man's talent?

From behind the desk, Lin Yuan took in everyone's expressions.

"Of course."

Lin Yuan sat up slightly straighter, his tone shifting as a well-timed look of humility and fatigue appeared on his face.

"These solutions are, after all, just things I've put together by working behind closed doors and staying up late over the past few days. In the end, they are only based on theoretical deductions and some of my personal engineering predictions."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over everyone present with sincerity.

"Whether they can run perfectly at the actual engineering level ultimately depends on you directors leading your teams to actually operate and verify them."

"After all, no matter how perfectly I calculate things on paper in the lab, it can't compare to the precious engineering experience you seniors have accumulated over decades."

These words were spoken with sincerity and tact.

He didn't praise the solution to the heavens, nor did he deliberately belittle himself.

But who among those present wasn't a shrewd individual? Anyone could hear that beneath this "humility" lay a terrifying level of confidence.

Wei Jiancheng was the first to snap out of the extreme shock.

He gripped the hard drive firmly, a flash of eagerness crossing his rough face, but he quickly suppressed it, leaving only a look of readiness and drive.

"Fine."

He nodded heavily, his voice deliberately lowered, but the weight in his words was not diminished in the slightest.

"I'll take it back right now and organize the team to digest it!"

"If there's anything we're unsure of later, I'll come find you again!"

He Yicheng also nodded. He wasn't as expressive as Wei Jiancheng, but he slowly and with great care tucked the hard drive into the inner pocket of his jacket, even patting it firmly through the fabric.

"Don't worry, Chief Engineer Lin. When it comes to engineering verification, we old bones still have some confidence."

His wording was restrained, but that final phrase, "have some confidence," was said with certainty.

They had already thoroughly understood most of the complete theory, and now a full set of engineering solutions had arrived.

The road ahead was clear and unmistakable.

They didn't lack ability; what they lacked was an accurate map pointing to the finish line.

And now, the map was in their hands.

The reactions of the three veteran scientists were surprisingly consistent: no exaggerated expressions of gratitude, no excessive words of praise.

They simply accepted the task decisively, wishing they could fly back to the lab right now to work for three hundred rounds.

This was, conversely, the state that made Lin Yuan most comfortable.

Everyone was a doer; no one played games.

Lin Yuan smiled, satisfied with this development.

His gaze swept across the eager faces of Wei Jiancheng, He Yicheng, and Yang Lin in turn, and then he unhurriedly dropped his final words.

"By the way."

"In addition to these three technical solutions, I am also comprehensively organizing the other technical data for the Photolithography Machine."

The three directors, who were just about to turn around, froze simultaneously.

Their breathing hitched in unison.

Lin Yuan didn't give them time to digest this; he leaned forward slightly, an undisguised expectation flashing in his eyes.

"So I have an unreasonable request—"

"I hope that before I finish organizing all the remaining data..."

"I can first hear good news from you seniors."
