99: Chapter 99 This day is not far off!

Upon hearing Chen Jingshan drop this statement, the tense atmosphere in the hallway, which had been on the verge of exploding, seemed to hit the pause button.

"The first coordination meeting... is being held tomorrow?!"

Wei Jiancheng and Yang Lin were both stunned for a moment. The two men who had just been arguing until their faces were red, itching to roll up their sleeves and have a go at each other, suddenly shut their mouths, their eyes wide as saucers.

Tomorrow morning at nine.

Elder Zhang is personally presiding.

They knew better than anyone just how heavy these two pieces of information were when combined.

Usually, even if a secretary from Elder Zhang's side came down for an inspection, it would be enough to put the subordinate research units on high alert. Now, Elder Zhang himself was taking command and personally presiding over the coordination meeting!

Wei Jiancheng was the first to react. He subconsciously straightened his back, and the posture he had used to bicker with Yang Lin vanished completely.

Yang Lin was the same; he tightened his grip on the blue folder, swallowed, and said nothing more.

Chen Jingshan glanced at the two of them, offered no further explanation, and turned his gaze toward Lin Yuan, who was standing to the side.

"By the way, Lin Yuan." Chen Jingshan paused, changed the subject, and his tone became noticeably gentler. "What's the situation with the materials?"

Chen Jingshan was, of course, aware that Lin Yuan had been remotely guiding the renovation of the special material preparation production line over the past two days. However, he was not entirely clear on the specific progress.

Lin Yuan stood to the side, his posture upright, and replied in a calm tone:

"I've gone through all the online guidance over the past two days." "I've helped them sort through all the key difficulties and obstacles they've accumulated during this time." "I've also provided solutions for several potential process bottlenecks the production line might encounter later on, and taught them those as well."

Lin Yuan paused for half a second and provided a clear expectation quite naturally. "Once you get past the basics, it's actually very simple." "As long as they follow the steps to run the closed-loop control, there shouldn't be any major issues. I estimate that in another ten days to half a month, the special material production line will be ready for official launch."

Very simple. These three words, spoken by Lin Yuan, were light and airy. But to the ears of Wei Jiancheng and Yang Lin, they caused the muscles on their old faces to twitch involuntarily.

The special material preparation process that had plagued the Xia Academy of Sciences materials science community for decades was reduced to a mere "very simple" evaluation in Lin Yuan's mouth. Furthermore, it could be launched and put into production in just ten days to half a month?!

Yet, they couldn't refute a single word. Because he had truly produced the complete set of technology and had forcibly taught those old experts!

Chen Jingshan's mouth also twitched involuntarily, but he quickly suppressed the waves in his heart and nodded heavily. He wouldn't dwell on these humblebragging remarks; as long as the production line could run smoothly, that was the greatest good news.

"Alright, as long as you have a handle on it."

Chen Jingshan raised his wrist to check his watch, his expression becoming serious. "Since everyone has been notified." "There are a thousand things to attend to regarding the special task force, so I'll head back to continue organizing the materials for tomorrow's meeting." "Old Wei, Old Yang, you two shouldn't just stand here either." "Tomorrow's coordination meeting is of extremely high status, and the heads of all departments will be present." "Go back and prepare more. If anyone drops the ball at tomorrow's meeting, I'll hold you accountable!"

Wei Jiancheng and Yang Lin felt a shiver in their hearts and responded in unison. Neither of them had the mind to bicker anymore; they each clutched their files tightly and turned to walk quickly toward their respective laboratories in different directions.

Chen Jingshan gave Lin Yuan a couple more instructions before walking toward the elevator.

The next day, 7:40 AM. There was still over an hour until the highly anticipated coordination meeting. Lin Yuan arrived early at the main building of the Xia Academy of Sciences and headed straight for the dean's office. Qin Meng, dressed in capable black casual attire, followed half a step behind, quietly by his side.

Inside the office, the fragrance of tea curled in the air, refreshing the heart. Chen Jingshan was already sitting in front of the tea table, meticulously arranging the purple clay tea set. Seeing Lin Yuan push the door open and enter, Chen Jingshan waved him over, a warm smile on his face. "You're here quite early. Sit down and have a cup of tea first."

Lin Yuan walked over and sat down on the sofa. Qin Meng consciously retreated to the single sofa against the wall and sat down quietly. Chen Jingshan pushed a cup of freshly poured, piping hot tea in front of Lin Yuan.

Lin Yuan picked up the teacup, gently blew on the steam, took a sip, and then looked up at Chen Jingshan, asking: "Dean Chen, today's coordination meeting doesn't start until nine. You asked me to come over this early—there must be something else, right?"

Chen Jingshan put down the teapot and smiled meaningfully, but did not answer directly. "Drink your tea first; you'll know in a moment."

Lin Yuan raised an eyebrow. His mind was so sharp; seeing Chen Jingshan acting so mysterious, he had already guessed a few things. He didn't press further, just sipped the tea quietly.

About five or six minutes passed. "Knock, knock, knock." Three steady, unhurried knocks came from outside. "Please come in," Chen Jingshan said in a clear voice.

The door was pushed open from the outside. Zhou Ping, wearing a dark blue jacket, stood sideways by the door, one hand firmly holding the door panel. He didn't enter first but instead turned slightly, quite naturally, to clear the path behind him.

The next moment, a thin, elderly man stepped inside. The old man wore a very ordinary gray Zhongshan suit, his hair was gray, and although his gait was not fast, every step he took was extremely solid. His demeanor exuded the steadiness of someone long accustomed to high positions and an aura of dignity that commanded respect without anger.

The moment Chen Jingshan saw the old man, he stood up from the sofa and hurried forward to greet him. Lin Yuan also stood up, his deep gaze falling on the newcomer. This was Zhang Yan. He was the direct person in charge of this new coordination task force.

"Elder Zhang." Chen Jingshan bowed slightly to greet him. The old man waved his hand, signaling that there was no need for such formalities. His gaze did not linger on Chen Jingshan at all; instead, he looked past Chen Jingshan and locked directly onto Lin Yuan, who was standing by the tea table. He sized him up for two seconds. A warm smile suddenly appeared on the old man's originally serious face, and he took the initiative to speak. "Comrade Lin Yuan, nice to meet you for the first time."

Elder Zhang took the initiative, looking at the young man before him, making no effort to hide the intense appreciation and intent to assess in his gaze. Lin Yuan stood where he was, his back straight. He showed no trace of timidity or being flattered; he simply nodded slightly and responded in a calm tone. "Hello, Elder Zhang."

Elder Zhang nodded, walked over to the sofa area, and without waiting for Chen Jingshan to invite him, found a seat and sat down. Zhou Ping followed him in, closed the door behind him, and also found a seat. Chen Jingshan hurriedly poured tea for Elder Zhang and Zhou Ping and handed it to them.

Elder Zhang took it but didn't drink immediately; instead, he placed the teacup on the tea table beside his knee, rested both hands on his legs, and returned his gaze to Lin Yuan. "Sit down, don't stand." Lin Yuan sat down as instructed, his posture remaining relaxed.

Elder Zhang's gaze lingered on his face for a moment. A young man in his early twenties, sitting in a relaxed but not sloppy posture, his eyes looking back quietly, without evasion, and without deliberately puffing out his chest. Elder Zhang nodded slightly in his heart. Just this level of composure was not something an ordinary young person could possess.

"Comrade Lin Yuan, I have been curious about you for a long time." Elder Zhang spoke, his pace half a beat slower than before, conveying a gravity born of serious scrutiny. "I have followed the matter of the Photolithography Machine from beginning to end." "From the theory to the realization of the full machine, and then to the performance at the press conference..." He paused slightly, his voice deepening. "To be honest, after watching your press conference, this old bag of bones tossed and turned that night and couldn't sleep at all."

Chen Jingshan, sitting to the side, heard this and the teacup in his hand wobbled slightly. Lin Yuan did not respond, just listened quietly with a perfectly appropriate smile on his face.

Elder Zhang continued: "Later, after the Photolithography Machine, you immediately brought out the basic theories for Fifth-Generation Communication Technology and Brain-like Machine Intelligence." Speaking of this, Elder Zhang put down his teacup, his eyes full of emotion, his tone revealing hard-to-conceal excitement and grand expectations. "To be honest, just listening to the concepts of these two technical theories, I can imagine..." "Once they are truly implemented, what earth-shaking changes will occur in the entire Xia country, and even the entire world!" "I am really looking forward to the arrival of that day."

Listening to Elder Zhang's words, Lin Yuan remained relaxed, a calm smile on his face. "Elder Zhang, that day will not be far off." He paused for a beat, his voice steady, yet radiating a confidence that put people at ease. "What we should be more concerned about now is..." "How soon it can arrive!"
