14: Chapter 14 is a bit weak.
Li Qingxuan was astonished: "Yin-Yang Talisman? How is that possible!"
The enchantress suddenly appeared beside Chu Yang: "It seems we can cooperate for once."
Chu Yang stared at her vigilantly: "Who said I wanted to cooperate with you?"
"Now is not the time for idle talk," the enchantress lowered her voice, "he will not let this go."
Li Qingxuan's expression had turned ferocious: "Chu Yang, don't force me to act! My master has waited for you for six hundred years; today, I will absolutely not let you leave!"
"Six hundred years?" Chu Yang was stunned.
Li Qingxuan pounced over, a green longsword appearing in his hand at some unknown moment. Chu Yang drew the short blade at his waist to meet him, but was clearly outmatched. After a few exchanges, Chu Yang was nearly stabbed in the chest.
The enchantress suddenly struck, a flash of purple light forcing Li Qingxuan back.
"Why are you helping me?" Chu Yang was puzzled.
The enchantress snorted coldly: "I am not helping you; I just don't want someone else to snatch away my prey."
Li Qingxuan roared: "Enchantress! You cannot shirk responsibility for what happened back then, and yet today you still dare to block me!"
The enchantress's expression shifted slightly: "Shut up!" She turned to Chu Yang: "Let's leave this place first."
Chu Yang hesitated for a moment, then nodded. Regardless of whether the enchantress was friend or foe, at least for now, they had a common goal—to leave this dangerous place.
The enchantress took out a purple talisman, crushed it, and purple mist filled the air. Li Qingxuan shouted and rushed into the mist, but grabbed nothing but air.
By the time Chu Yang regained his senses, they were already in an unfamiliar bamboo forest.
"Where is this?" Chu Yang looked around.
"A hidden spot a hundred miles from that valley," the enchantress put away the talisman, "we are safe for now."
Chu Yang kept his distance: "Can you tell me the truth now?"
The enchantress sat on a blue stone: "What do you want to know?"
"Who is Li Qingxuan's master? Why are they looking for me? And who was I in my past life?"
"So many questions," the enchantress chuckled, "simply put, Li Qingxuan's master is the 'Daoist Wangchuan' from six hundred years ago. Back then, he fought your past self fiercely over a supreme treasure, eventually causing your death and dissipation, and that treasure is the Yin-Yang Talisman."
Chu Yang was shocked: "The Yin-Yang Talisman belonged to my past life?"
"Correct," the enchantress nodded, "the Yin-Yang Talisman is an ancient divine artifact that can help a soul of samsara retain memories of a past life. Daoist Wangchuan killed you to seize the talisman, but he didn't expect the Yin-Yang Talisman to recognize its master. He couldn't take it, so he had to wait for you to reincarnate."
"Then who is Bi Luo? She said she had a romantic connection with my past life."
A hint of complexity flashed in the enchantress's eyes: "Bi Luo... she did indeed have a romantic connection with your past life, but it was not a good one."
"What do you mean?"
"She is Daoist Wangchuan's disciple and the key figure who caused your death," the enchantress said indifferently, "she feigned a connection with you, but in reality, she was stealing the secrets of the Yin-Yang Talisman for her master."
Chu Yang felt a pain in his heart and actually believed the enchantress's words somewhat.
"And what about you?" Chu Yang looked directly at the enchantress, "Who are you? Why are you so obsessed with my soul of samsara?"
The enchantress was silent for a moment: "There is an ancient curse in my body that can only be lifted by devouring a soul of samsara."
"So you want to kill me?"
"Theoretically, yes," the enchantress shrugged, "but things are more complicated than you imagine. You and I... also have a grudge."
Chu Yang sneered: "Another grudge? How is it that everyone is related to my past life?"
"Because your past life was not simple," the enchantress stood up and slowly approached, "six hundred years ago, you were the renowned Yin Yang Loose Cultivator of the Cultivation World, and also my..."
Before she could finish, a sound of piercing through the air suddenly came from outside the bamboo forest.
"Found you!" Li Qingxuan's voice came.
The enchantress's expression changed: "Damn it, the talisman's effect wore off too quickly!"
Li Qingxuan had already led several masked cultivators into the bamboo forest.
"Chu Yang, you won't escape this time!" Li Qingxuan said sternly, "My master has arrived in person; follow me to see him immediately!"
Chu Yang felt a powerful aura approaching, as if the entire world were trembling.
The enchantress grabbed Chu Yang: "Come with me!"
"Why should I trust you?" Chu Yang shook off her hand.
The enchantress said urgently: "Do you have a choice now? Once you fall into the hands of Daoist Wangchuan, you will lose yourself forever!"
An old voice came from afar: "Enchantress, you still dare to appear? The matters of the past have yet to be settled, and today you come to ruin my plans again!"
The enchantress turned pale: "It's Daoist Wangchuan! Chu Yang, make a decision quickly!"
Chu Yang's thoughts raced. Whether it was Bi Luo, Li Qingxuan, or the enchantress, no one told him the whole truth. But at least the enchantress admitted to wanting his soul of samsara; this honesty was actually trustworthy.
"Fine, I'll go with you," Chu Yang made his decision, "but you must guarantee that you won't harm me."
The enchantress bit her finger and drew a complex rune in the air: "I swear by the enchantress's blood oath, before things are clarified, I will never forcibly take your soul of samsara."
The rune turned into purple light and merged into both their bodies. Chu Yang felt a binding force linking him to the enchantress.
"Go!" The enchantress grabbed Chu Yang's shoulder, and the two instantly turned into a purple light and soared into the sky.
"Stop them!" Li Qingxuan roared.
Several attacks struck, but the enchantress dodged them one by one. However, just as they were about to break out of the encirclement, a golden light suddenly descended from the sky, striking directly at the enchantress.
The enchantress screamed, and fell from the sky with Chu Yang.
"Haha, enchantress, you ultimately cannot escape my palm!" An old man with white hair stood in the air; it was Daoist Wangchuan.
The enchantress blocked in front of Chu Yang: "Wangchuan, even if you kill me, don't even think about getting him!"
Daoist Wangchuan sneered: "You said the same thing six hundred years ago, and what was the result? Today, I want not only his soul of samsara, but also your demon soul!"
Chu Yang suddenly felt the Yin-Yang Talisman on his chest vibrate violently, and a surge of power flooded his whole body. It was as if some seal had been opened, and countless unfamiliar images flashed through his mind.
"The Yin-Yang Talisman has awakened?" Daoist Wangchuan was greatly alarmed, "Impossible!"
The enchantress turned her head in astonishment: "Chu Yang, you..."
Chu Yang's eyes had turned one black and one white, and his aura suddenly became unfathomable. He looked at Daoist Wangchuan, his tone strange and cold:
"Wangchuan, long time no see."
## Chapter 3
Daoist Wangchuan's expression changed drastically: "Yin Yang Loose Cultivator? You... your memories have awakened?"
Chu Yang—or rather, the Yin Yang Loose Cultivator—sneered: "Just some fragmented pieces, but enough for me to recognize you, you old thief."
The enchantress looked at Chu Yang in shock: "You really remembered?"
Chu Yang shook his head slightly: "Only fragments, like looking at scenery through a fog, but I know what this old thing in front of me did to me."
Daoist Wangchuan quickly calmed down: "So what if you awakened? You are just a half-baked reincarnation; your strength is not even one-tenth of what it was back then!"
"We'll see once we try." Chu Yang formed hand seals, the Yin-Yang Talisman shone brilliantly, turning into two halos, one black and one white, to protect his body.
Daoist Wangchuan struck out with his palm, golden light slashing at Chu Yang like a blade. The halos blocked automatically but only stopped most of the force; the remaining momentum still knocked Chu Yang back several steps.
"Did you see that? You are too weak!" Daoist Wangchuan laughed wildly.
Chu Yang wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth: "This body is indeed a bit too weak."
