42: Chapter 42 Someone is arguing

The group continued forward, passing through the dark forest. Along the way, they encountered various illusions and obstacles, but they resolved each one using their respective martial arts and wisdom.

Suddenly, a clamor came from up ahead; it seemed like people were arguing. Chu Yang signaled for everyone to stop and approached the source of the sound stealthily. Through the bushes, they saw a dilapidated little village where the villagers were debating something.

"Tell me, can this group of people really pass through that temple?" a middle-aged villager asked worriedly.

"I think it will be difficult. The formation there is something even the ancients couldn't break," another elder sighed while shaking his head.

"But they truly are heroes! It's been a long time since our village has seen such warriors," a young villager said hopefully.

Chu Yang smiled slightly and whispered to Qing Luo, "It seems we're somewhat famous here."

Qing Luo nodded gently, her eyes sparkling with admiration and pride.

Just then, a young girl stepped forward, her gaze firm. "I believe they will definitely succeed! Everyone in our village is waiting for them to return."

"That's right, I believe in them too," another villager agreed.

Hearing these words, Nangong Han couldn't help but laugh. He turned to look at Chu Yang and said softly, "We cannot let their expectations down."

Chu Yang nodded, his gaze becoming even more determined. "Let's go. We need to find the path to the temple."

The group quietly left the village and continued deeper into the forest. Before long, they discovered a secret entrance hidden among the bushes, carved with mysterious runes.

"This entrance should be the key to the temple." Daoist Wangchuan observed it carefully, his expression solemn.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go straight in!" Bi Luo took the lead and was the first to step into the entrance.

A burst of light instantly lit up at the entrance, and they found themselves inside a magnificent temple. Various murals were carved within the temple, each telling a different story. In the center of the temple stood a massive altar with an ancient treasure box placed upon it.

"This is what we're looking for," Chu Yang said softly.

Just as they were about to approach the altar, a powerful force suddenly surged from all directions, and several dark figures appeared out of thin air before them.

"Did you think it would be so easy to enter this place?" one of the dark figures said coldly.

"Hmph, so you're from the Dark Prison!" Chu Yang sneered. "However, no matter how many of you there are, we aren't afraid."

As soon as he finished speaking, the battle erupted once more. Holding his longsword, Chu Yang moved with agility to deal with the dark figures. Bi Luo's long blade was like the wind, every strike accurate and true. Daoist Wangchuan cast spells, firmly suppressing the surrounding enemies. Nangong Han's long whip was like a dragon, flexibly weaving through the enemies.

"That's incredible!" a villager hiding in the distance shouted in surprise.

"These warriors are simply gods descended to earth!" another villager exclaimed in envy.

The fierce battle lasted for a long time. Eventually, the people from the Dark Prison were all defeated. As the last dark figure fell, Chu Yang took a deep breath and turned toward the altar, preparing to open the treasure box.

"Wait!" Qing Luo suddenly stopped him. "The contents inside might be dangerous; we need to be careful."

Chu Yang nodded and carefully opened the treasure box. Inside, a glowing crystal lay quietly, emitting a soft light.

"This is the vermilion birds heart we've been looking for!" Chu Yang said joyfully.

Just then, the temple suddenly began to shake, and countless cracks appeared on the surrounding walls.

"Quickly, we must leave this place at once!" Daoist Wangchuan shouted urgently.

"Let's go while there's still time!" Gripping the vermilion birds heart in one hand, Chu Yang led the group as they quickly ran outside.

They dashed through the temple, and just as they ran out the door, the entire structure collapsed with a roar, turning into a pile of ruins. The loud crash and dust coming from behind left them with a sense of lingering fear.

"We did it!" Qing Luo hugged Chu Yang excitedly, tears shimmering in her eyes.

"We did it." Chu Yang smiled and embraced her, his heart filled with satisfaction and peace.

The group looked back at the temple ruins, unable to help but sigh with emotion. This adventure had been full of peril, but they had also gained much valuable experience and friendship.

"What should we do next?" Nangong Han asked softly, a trace of worry flashing in his eyes.

Chu Yang looked up into the distance, his gaze firm. "We still have many things to do; new challenges are waiting for us."

Before his voice had even faded, they heard another eerie sound coming from the distance. It was as if something was approaching in the darkness, making their skin crawl.

"What is that sound?" Qing Luo asked nervously.

"I don't know, but we must face it," Chu Yang said in a heavy voice, his eyes flashing with determination.

Everyone tightened their grip on their weapons, preparing to meet the upcoming new challenge. What awaited them ahead—was it hope or despair? Everything was still unknown...

"No matter what happens, we cannot give up," Nangong Han said firmly.

Chu Yang nodded, his eyes bright as torches. "We face it together."

They continued walking into the depths of the darkness to meet the unknown challenge... Chu Yang's group passed through the dark forest and embarked on a new journey. The sounds ahead became clearer, and an inexplicable sense of oppression filled the air.

"What do you think is making that sound?" Qing Luo asked softly, a hint of tension in her eyes.

"No matter what it is, we must face it bravely," Chu Yang said firmly. "We've already come this far; there's no way we're backing down."

Daoist Wangchuan nodded, his sharp gaze scanning the surroundings. "The aura of this place is very strange. Everyone, be careful."

They continued forward, gradually approaching the source of the sound. At that moment, an open wasteland appeared before them. In its center stood a dilapidated ancient castle, and that eerie sound was coming from within it.

"This ancient castle looks quite eerie. Could there be danger?" Bi Luo asked warily.

"Since it's the place we're looking for, we have no choice but to go in and see." Chu Yang took a deep breath and led the way toward the castle's main gates.

The gates were tightly shut, covered in the marks of time. Chu Yang gave a forceful push, and the gates actually opened slowly with a "creak." The group cautiously entered the ancient castle, and the scene before them couldn't help but surprise them—the interior was actually even more magnificent than it looked from the outside, with various exquisite sculptures and murals everywhere.

"The atmosphere here is so strange. I feel like something is watching us," Nangong Han whispered.

"There is indeed a power watching us." Daoist Wangchuan closed his eyes to sense it, his expression solemn.
