6: How to choose in Chapter 6

Elder Heavenly Demon narrowed his eyes and stared at Chu Yang. "Are you sure you want to make this choice?"

"I'm sure." Chu Yang's expression was calm, but a hint of ruthlessness flashed in his eyes.

The Skeleton Demon Lord's face turned ashen, and his eyes nearly bulged out of his head. "You brat, you dare set me up!"

Leaning on his staff, his body trembled slightly, and he immediately turned to flee. Unexpectedly, Elder Heavenly Demon flickered and blocked his path, sneering, "Skeleton, where do you think you're going?"

"Elder Heavenly Demon, what is the meaning of this?"

"What meaning? Naturally, it's to help Chu Yang beat you to death." Elder Heavenly Demon laughed heartily. "For such a fine genius, I must naturally fulfill his small wish."

The Skeleton Demon Lord retreated explosively, shouting, "You can't do this! You can't attack me for the sake of a junior! I am the Sect Master of the Skeleton Sect, and I hold a place in the Demon Realm!"

"Enough talk." Poison Concubine let out a soft laugh, her figure appearing behind the Skeleton Demon Lord like a ghost. Her slender, jade-like hand turned into a sharp claw and lunged for his neck. "A spirit mine... it really is tempting."

"No!" The Skeleton Demon Lord was terrified.

He never imagined that a momentary slip of the tongue would bring about such a fatal disaster.

Seeing Poison Concubine's fingers about to sink into his neck, the Skeleton Demon Lord suddenly pulled out a piece of bone and crushed it!

*Boom!*

A terrifying surge of death energy erupted instantly, causing the plants within a radius of hundreds of meters to wither and die. Graves rose from the ground, and countless white bones crawled out from beneath the earth.

"Gaga! Come! Behold my Skeleton Army!"

The Skeleton Demon Lord laughed maniacally, staring intently at Chu Yang. "Brat, today I'll make sure you die without a place to be buried!"

With a wave of his staff, thousands of skeleton soldiers roared and charged toward the group.

"Mere skeletons, how dare you be so insolent!"

Bi Luo snorted coldly and tapped her finger, releasing a wisp of green smoke. Wherever the smoke passed, the skeleton soldiers knelt one after another, their gazes toward Bi Luo filled with obsession.

"Damn it!" The Skeleton Demon Lord trembled with rage.

His skeleton legion had been controlled by the Hehuan Sect's Charm Technique. These puppets, who should have been loyal to him, had actually defected!

Chi Lian was not to be outdone. She leaped up, her hands transforming into blood-red whips, and lashed out fiercely at the Skeleton Demon Lord.

*Crack!*

One whip strike landed squarely on the Skeleton Demon Lord's chest, instantly tearing his flesh open.

"Ah!"

The Skeleton Demon Lord cried out in pain and stumbled back. Just as he tried to steady himself, Elder Heavenly Demon had already moved.

Elder Heavenly Demon gently extended a finger and pointed it at the Skeleton Demon Lord.

This finger seemed ordinary, yet it contained infinite demonic power. The Skeleton Demon Lord felt as if struck by lightning; he was sent flying back, crashing heavily onto the ground as he coughed up blood.

"Cough, cough... You can't do this... I am the Sect Master of the Skeleton Sect..."

The Skeleton Demon Lord struggled to stand, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"So what if you're the Skeleton Sect Master?" Poison Concubine sneered. "In the Demon Realm, the strong prey on the weak. You've fallen today; accept your fate!"

A flash of madness crossed the Skeleton Demon Lord's eyes. "No! I'll go down fighting!"

He suddenly bit the tip of his tongue and sprayed blood onto his staff. The staff instantly erupted with a dazzling red light, and a massive skull emerged from the ground, opening its bloody maw to bite at the group.

"A deathbed struggle."

Elder Heavenly Demon smiled disdainfully and swiped forward with a clawed hand. The massive skull instantly shattered into pieces, turning into powder that scattered across the ground.

The Skeleton Demon Lord's face turned ashen; he was completely despairing.

"No... don't kill me... The spirit mine... I can give you the spirit mine..."

"Too late." Chi Lian licked her lips, her eyes brimming with killing intent. "Chu Yang wants you dead, so you must die!"

With that, she lunged at the Skeleton Demon Lord, her fingers like hooks, aiming straight for his heart.

The Skeleton Demon Lord screamed as he fell to the ground, subjected to a flurry of scratches from Chi Lian. Poison Concubine, not wanting to be left behind, stepped forward and delivered several fierce kicks, leaving the Skeleton Demon Lord half-dead.

"Chu Yang, what do you think?" Chi Lian looked back at Chu Yang triumphantly.

Chu Yang endured the pain and stood up, slowly walking over to the Skeleton Demon Lord and looking down at the once-arrogant demon.

"Didn't you want to refine me into a skeleton puppet? Now, whose turn is it?"

The Skeleton Demon Lord's eyes were full of resentment. "You little bastard... you dare..."

Chu Yang smiled coldly and pointed a finger at the center of the Skeleton Demon Lord's brow.

"Ah!"

The Skeleton Demon Lord shrieked miserably as blood flowed from his seven orifices. He looked as if all his essence and spirit were being drained; he rapidly shriveled and withered, eventually turning into a desiccated corpse.

Everyone present looked at this scene in shock.

"This..." Poison Concubine said in surprise, "You actually have such methods?"

Chu Yang did not answer. Instead, he bent over to retrieve a jade slip from within the Skeleton Demon Lord's robes, a slight smile appearing on his face.

"The location of the spirit mine is indeed here."

A sharp glint flashed in Elder Heavenly Demon's eyes. "Brat, now that the Skeleton Demon Lord is dead, you should choose who you're going with, right?"

Chu Yang tucked away the jade slip and looked at the group. "I need to think about it."

"Think about it?" Chi Lian's brows furrowed. "Think about what? We've already helped you kill the Skeleton Demon Lord. According to the agreement, you should choose one of us to join!"

"The agreement was that I would join the power of whoever killed him," Chu Yang said with a smile. "But since you all took action, it's hard for me to decide at the moment. Why don't we have another competition?"

Elder Heavenly Demon narrowed his eyes. "How do you want to compete?"

"It's simple." Chu Yang pointed to a mountain peak not far away. "Three days from now, hold a banquet on that mountain and offer your best terms to attract me. Whoever offers the best terms, I will go with them."

"Little rascal." Poison Concubine gave a charming smile. "But I like it."

Chi Lian snorted. "Fine, see you in three days. But you're heavily injured right now, who are you going with?"

Chu Yang's gaze swept over the group, finally landing on Bi Luo. "Sect Master Bi, I wonder if you could take me in for a few days?"

A hint of pleasant surprise flashed in Bi Luo's eyes. "Of course. My Hehuan Sect is as gentle as water, the most suitable place for healing."

Chi Lian and Poison Concubine were immediately dissatisfied. "Chu Yang, you're being biased!"

Chu Yang didn't mind. "I'm just picking one at random; the result in three days is still undecided."

Elder Heavenly Demon laughed. "Good boy, interesting. Then it's settled. See you at the mountain peak in three days!"

With that, he was the first to leave. Chi Lian and Poison Concubine gave Chu Yang an unwilling look before also departing one after another.

Bi Luo stepped forward and gently supported Chu Yang. "Let's go, I'll take you to the Hehuan Sect."

Chu Yang nodded, a deep, meaningful smile curling at the corner of his mouth.

The Hehuan Sect was located in a Peach Forest in the central part of the Demon Realm. The entire sect was surrounded by pink peach blossoms, looking like a fairyland from a distance.

Chu Yang followed Bi Luo through the Peach Forest to the sect's entrance. Along the way, he occasionally saw women in thin gauze dresses dancing among the trees, a beautiful sight to behold.
