164: Grilled Gray Crab

Tonight, the commanding officer on duty at the city wall was Yang Kui, an elder from the Xinhuo Train.

Looking at the dense Gray Crabs under the searchlights, his brow furrowed into a deep ' river' shape.

There were simply too many of them.

At the first sign of this obvious anomaly, he sounded the alarm.

However, given the current situation, it wasn't worth wasting ammunition.

He still maintained basic strategic composure.

Behind the warning minefield was the first trench-like trap dug by the Sanmin Base.

This trench wasn't too deep, only three meters.

But it was exceptionally wide.

The design of the trench was also quite unique, narrow at the top and wide at the bottom, forming a ' eight' shape.

The surface of the trench exposed to the air was also lined with a layer of quick-drying cement, specially treated and fully solidified, forming a hard barrier. At the very bottom of the trench, countless sharp iron spikes stood densely packed, like fangs, gleaming coldly and sending shivers down one's spine.

After wading through the outermost minefield, an astonishing number of Gray Crabs fell into the first trench like dumplings.

Cracking sounds continuously echoed.

Under the searchlights, one could clearly see the Gray Crabs that had fallen into the ditch colliding with each other.

Some crawled horizontally, some vertically, stacking up.

They quickly reached dozens of centimeters high.

A few unlucky ones were impaled by the spikes, helplessly waving their chelipeds.

As more and more Gray Crabs fell in, a thick layer of black viscous grease was squeezed out from the bottom of the spikes, carried everywhere by the constantly climbing Gray Crabs, dyeing the original Gray Crabs black.

Seeing the increasing number of Gray Crabs falling into the pit, almost overflowing from the first trench.

Yang Kui, who had been standing silently in the shadow of the city wall, waved his hand towards the back.

Then, dozens of soldiers who had already prepared emerged from the barracks, holding Harvester Individual Grenade Launchers, aiming their muzzles at the first trench, adopting a parabolic posture.

"Attention all, Explosive Flame Bullet ready, prepare—"

"Fire!!!"

"Bang, bang, bang..."

With the command from the platoon leader, dozens of dim tail flames streaked across the night sky.

Before those hiding in the dark could react.

They swiftly landed and ignited, stirring up large orange-red flames.

One of them happened to fall into the first trench.

Within the trench, a flame several meters high erupted with a bang.

Not only that, this Explosion Flame Shell was like a spark falling into a haystack.

It ignited the byproduct of the flesh transformation pool—black specialized fuel—which had already been carried everywhere by the Gray Crabs.

Then, with a whoosh—

A fiery arc spread rapidly from the Explosion Flame Shell's landing point to both the east and west sides of the trench.

In the blink of an eye, the entire several-kilometer-long first trench was ignited.

Transforming the first trench into a roaring brazier.

In this situation, the Gray Crabs that had fallen into the trench seemed like ingredients being cooked in a large pot.

The rustling crawling sounds abruptly ceased.

Instead, a fragrant aroma of roasted crabs permeated the entire Coast.

The Gray Crabs that were originally preparing to continue climbing ashore were so frightened that they quickly burrowed into the nearest sand, not daring to move.

Even when the flames from the Explosive Flame Bullet spread, they remained motionless.

The crackling sounds of roasting rose and fell, like a bonfire in the night being fed new wood.

On the sea, about two li from the city wall of Sanmin Base, on a shallow sea reef, a Big Green Crab, over two meters tall and more than three meters wide, was squinting its eyes and crawling there, observing the situation on the Coast.

Seeing the suddenly rising long line of fire and the crackling sounds that could be heard from afar.

He turned his head and, with an unfriendly look, said to Silver Sand, the young chieftain of the Chensha Tribe, whose half-body was in the water beside him: "Is this what you call a 'proper arrangement'?

"Although these crab offspring are not precious, their dying so senselessly does not align with what I had in mind."

"Moreover, from when you first sought me out until now, besides you, I haven't seen a single Silverscale Snake Person from the Chensha Tribe. Are you perhaps trying to use us as cannon fodder? We Crab People may not be clever, but we are not foolish."

"If you dare to deceive me, believe it or not, I will kill you right now."

Saying this, before Silver Sand could react, the Red Pan Crab King's right cheliped created an afterimage, effortlessly scooping Silver Sand out of the water and clamping him in front of him.

The massive cheliped was thicker than Silver Sand's waist.

Feeling the irresistible force of the cheliped, as if it would crush him in half.

Silver Sand's face changed drastically, then he endured the pain in his waist and quickly explained: "You are the esteemed Crab King, our most sincere friend of the Silverscale Snake People. How could I deceive you?"

"Just now, before the crab offspring came ashore, although I intended for them to probe the invaders' defenses, I also said to wait until dawn, when the warriors of the Chensha Tribe arrived. That way, once we understood the invaders' methods, we could launch a full-scale attack."

"Who knew those crab offspring would act so quickly!!"

"However, it is indeed inappropriate for the Crab People to suffer losses before the battle has even officially begun."

"How about this, I'll make the decision: after we capture the invaders' camp, the Crab People will choose the spoils of war first as compensation. After you have chosen, the remaining will be for the Snake People warriors to choose. What do you think?"

The Red Pan Crab King listened to Silver Sand's words and shook his head in a feigned manner.

Then, with a 'thud', he threw him back into the water.

"That's more like it. However, you should also send word back quickly. There isn't much time left until dawn. If I don't see anyone from the Chensha Tribe by dawn, I will take the Crab People back. Don't even think about using us as cannon fodder again!!"

Before the Red Pan Crab King finished speaking, ripples suddenly appeared on the water.

Then the ripples grew larger and larger, quickly turning into waves several meters high.

When a vast expanse of dark waves surged forward, countless silver, winding figures of people flickered in and out of sight within the waves.

But they were miraculously controlled to stay dozens of meters away from the Red Pan Crab King.

Seeing this, the Big Green Crab, which had been crawling behind the Red Pan Crab King, suddenly stood up and plunged into the water.

And with his entry into the water, another opposing tide abruptly rose, with the reef where the Red Pan Crab King was located as the boundary.

In the newly risen tide, predominantly grayish-green in color, though not conspicuous, upon closer inspection, each one was a huge crab.

Compared to the Gray Crabs that had climbed ashore earlier, these Big Green Crabs and Gray Crabs were all PLUS and PLUS+, or even PLUS++ versions.

The smallest ones were over half a meter in size, and the color of their shells gradually changed from gray to green, with larger bodies having more green.

The largest few were no less impressive even compared to the Red Pan Crab King.

As if disliking the Snake People's ostentatiousness, under the Big Green Crab's manipulation, the tide behind the Red Pan Crab King rose higher and higher, surpassing the Snake People's tide in the blink of an eye.

Seeing that it was about to attract attention from the Coast, Silver Sand, next to the Red Pan Crab King, quickly gave a meaningful look.

Thereupon, the opposing Snake People's tide suddenly receded completely, revealing a large number of Silverscale Snake People warriors clad in silver-scaled chainmail.

Then Silver Sand stepped forward at the opportune moment: "Crab King, look, the Snake People warriors have arrived."

"Rest assured, we Silverscale Snake People are always sincere with our friends and would never play tricks."

"As soon as dawn arrives, these thousands of Silverscale warriors will charge onto the Coast alongside the Crab People warriors."

"At that time, won't those invaders be at our mercy?"
