129: Battle with the Demon King

Qin Yue’s Breakthrough could be said to be three parts luck.

Initially, like other Martial Artists, he tried to suppress or even clear the remnants of the Yao Race demons in his consciousness space, but with little success.

Those consciousnesses were like persistent parasites, firmly embedded in his Divine Intent, difficult to peel away.

The turning point came when he temporarily let go of his obsession with the Yao Race demon consciousness and instead delved into how the AFK System could help him Breakthrough to the Divine Intent Realm.

What truly enlightened him was the cup of Cloud Mist Pine Needle Tea from Medicine Sage back then—the Concept of “isolation” contained within the tea suddenly made everything clear to him.

Qin Yue realized that he had always possessed two consciousnesses: his “Self-Consciousness” and the “System Consciousness” that controlled his body during past AFK sessions.

Although the latter had merged with his Self-Consciousness during his Breakthrough to the Divine Intent Realm, he decided to separate them again.

He re-divided his Mental Energy into “Primary Consciousness” and “Secondary Consciousness.” The Primary Consciousness remained his true self, focused on cultivation and Breakthrough; the Secondary Consciousness acted as “bait,” actively absorbing all the murmurs and whispers of the Yao Race demons in the Divine Prison.

The Yao Race demon consciousnesses furiously counterattacked, roaring and surging, attempting to pollute his Primary Consciousness. But the Secondary Consciousness was essentially a cold System consciousness, only mechanically executing commands without any emotional fluctuations—much like dividing a computer into C and D drives, even if the D drive is rampant with viruses, the C drive still runs stably.

After the consciousness partition, the Yao Race demon consciousnesses not only ceased to be an obstacle but instead became an aid to Qin Yue’s cultivation progress.

Although his true Divine Intent had stagnated, he could use these subdued Yao Race demon consciousnesses to continue absorbing Mental Energy and constantly grow stronger.

Over the next few years, Qin Yue consciously cultivated these Yao Race demon consciousnesses, allowing them to gradually grow into powerful “Consciousness Clones.”

Once all forty-nine Yao Race demon consciousnesses reached the Peak Realm, he used the AFK System as the control center, forming them into a profound Formation within his spiritual world, collectively nourishing his Primary Consciousness—

Finally, at the moment the pyramid collapsed, Qin Yue’s Mental Energy completely broke through the shackles of the Divine Intent Realm and entered the Saint level.

“Boom—”

The rules of Heaven and Earth were now completely different in his eyes.

The mist of Pill Refining Peak was no longer a hazy blur to him, but each wisp contained the fragrance of medicine and the rhyme of Dao; the old pine tree was no longer just a tree, the “Dao” hidden within its century of resilience was clearly discernible.

He pushed the door open and saw Medicine Sage approaching with a teapot, as composed as he had been a decade ago.

“You’ve had a Breakthrough?” Medicine Sage smiled as he poured him tea.

Qin Yue raised the cup and sipped carefully; this time, what he tasted was not just loneliness, but also the wisdom of coexisting with Heaven and Earth.

“Good tea.” He put down the teacup, his gaze clear, “Thank you, Ancestral Master, for showing me the way—it’s just that the path your Disciple has taken may be somewhat different from the three Ancestral Masters.”

A hint of surprise flashed in Medicine Sage’s eyes, followed by a knowing smile.

He looked up at the sky, where layers of clouds churned, a storm about to break.

And Qin Yue understood that he was no longer just a latecomer waiting for fate—but a “New Saint” who could personally wield the chess pieces.

“Come with me.”

Medicine Sage transformed into a stream of consciousness, carrying Qin Yue directly beyond the Small World.

Martial Saint and Sword Saint had been waiting for a long time.

“Finally, a junior has passed through the Divine Intent Realm’s door.” Martial Saint’s voice boomed like a great bell, “Let’s go meet that Yao Emperor again.”

Qin Yue looked at the two: Martial Saint was as fiery as a raging inferno, while Sword Saint was cool and aloof in his white robes; indeed, the temperament of each Peak was inherited from its founder.

Medicine Sage interrupted Martial Saint’s suggestion to rush into battle and turned to Qin Yue:

“You are new to the Saint Realm; do you have any special abilities? It would help us coordinate during the battle.”

Qin Yue responded solemnly:

“This Disciple’s Breakthrough, in fact, is also similar to the three Ancestral Masters, relying on an ‘object from beyond this world.’ The ability this object grants me is ‘AFK’—as long as it’s a fixed program of actions, even if I divide my attention billions of times and control thousands of Puppets, they can all operate simultaneously.

If the three Ancestral Masters trust me and are willing to let go of their bodies and minds for me to control… I guarantee that this battle will slay the Yao Emperor.”

As he said these words, Qin Yue felt a tremor of apprehension in his heart.

Entrusting one’s body to another’s control was tantamount to entrusting one’s life for a Martial Artist.

However—

“I can let you control me.”

“Agreed.”

“Granted.”

The three Saints agreed simultaneously, without hesitation!

Medicine Sage patted Qin Yue’s shoulder, his smile gentle yet vast:

“No need to be surprised. We three old fellows have been entangled with the Yao Emperor for thousands of years, and we are already at a dead end. These years, I have clearly felt my own decline… If we cannot slay him while you are newly Breakthrough and the Yao Emperor is unprepared, who will be able to contend with that Yao Emperor after we pass away?

So, go for it. We trust you.”

Qin Yue’s heart was stirred, and he bowed respectfully:

“I will do my utmost to eradicate the Yao Emperor!”

“No time like the present,” Martial Saint declared with sword-like decisiveness, without a moment’s delay, “Let’s depart today!”

The Yao Emperor’s true form was immeasurably vast, perpetually slumbering outside the world, overlooking the Great World where Qin Yue resided and countless surrounding Small Worlds. The four of them still had a long journey ahead to reach its sleeping place.

Along the way, Medicine Sage objectively recounted their years of battles with the Yao Emperor to Qin Yue, without adding any subjective judgment—only to give him a clear understanding of the Yao Emperor, unconstrained by the experiences of his predecessors.

The journey passed quickly, especially as Qin Yue continuously processed the information Medicine Sage had given him in his mind, strategizing how to defeat the Yao Emperor.

By the time he came to his senses, the Three Saints had already brought him to the Yao Emperor’s sleeping place.

Qin Yue saw a peculiar Small World ahead; unlike other Small Worlds that glowed with white light, this Small World continuously radiated seven-colored Qi streams into its surroundings.

“Is the Yao Emperor slumbering in this Small World?”

Medicine Sage shook his head,

“It is not that the Yao Emperor is slumbering in this Small World, but rather this Small World is the Yao Emperor.

I just told you that the Yao Emperor’s true form is extremely vast; you might not have a concept of how big it is, but now you see it.”

“Why are you three little bugs here again? Didn’t I tell you not to bother me until you finished your game of snatching Small Worlds?”

As Qin Yue and the three others were observing the Small World, a red-haired, red-eyed young man suddenly appeared not far from them.

The young man, upon appearing, spoke disrespectfully, like a middle school student whose sleep had been disturbed.

“Your Excellency Yao Emperor, we three have a new way to defeat you this time. Would you like to try it?”

“This is the Yao Emperor?”

Qin Yue was startled.

He was shocked by both the immense size of the Yao Emperor’s true form and the youthfulness of the Yao Emperor’s Incarnation.

A Yao Race’s human form is based on the Yao Race’s state of mind, and the Yao Emperor’s Incarnation being so young indicated that he might still be in the infancy stage of the Yao Race.

The Yao Emperor who had suppressed the Human Race for thousands of years was actually an infant Yao Race demon?

This mismatch in perception made Qin Yue think that if this Yao Emperor was still in its infancy, then how terrifying would its power be when it reached adulthood.

No wonder the Three Saints immediately sought to fight the Yao Emperor as soon as Qin Yue had a Breakthrough; if they waited for the Yao Emperor to grow to adulthood, Humanity might not be able to maintain the current situation.
