327: Chapter 327 A Glimmer of Hope for the Merfolk?

Moon Shadow Small World, the Northwest Coastal Waters of the Central Holy Continent.

Beside the deep Boundless Profound Sea, Ling Hao stood atop the waves.

This was the area where he had previously instructed Shangguan Ping and the others to temporarily set aside the reorganization of the world's laws. It was heavily influenced by the external Chaos and could be considered a weak point in the Small World's Fetal Membrane.

Space rippled faintly here, allowing a subtle infiltration of the external Chaos aura. Without intervention, it would take a century to stabilize on its own.

Ling Hao held up the heaven-mending stone, which shimmered with five-colored radiance, in his palm and smiled slightly.

"Perfect. Using the heaven-mending stone to mend the Fetal Membrane is quite fitting. Could this be called 'Ling Hao Mending the Heavens'?"

Pulling back his smile, Ling Hao's gaze turned solemn. A vast torrent of spiritual energy surged out and poured into the Divine Stone.

In an instant, the heaven-mending stone's light intensified, transforming into a brilliant pillar of light that pierced through heaven and earth, striking directly at the weak point of the Fetal Membrane!

Buzz—!

A low and grand hum echoed between heaven and earth, as if the world itself were breathing.

The five-colored radiance flowed like liquid, slowly sealing the fissures in the Fetal Membrane. The energy fluctuations emanating from it were vast and majestic, nearly matching the power of a Body Integration Stage Cultivator's full effort. It caused the surrounding space to warp slightly, and the sea surface was pressed down by invisible force, forming a massive whirlpool that was instantly smoothed over by the radiance.

The entire process was magnificent and grand, shaking the Soul.

Just as the repairs were nearing completion and the last wisp of radiance was about to merge into the Fetal Membrane, Ling Hao's Divine Sense suddenly caught sight of a figure being tossed away by the energy aftershocks in the coastal waters.

His figure flashed, his arm reaching out to steadily pull the figure into his embrace.

Looking down, Ling Hao's eyes flickered.

"Clan Chief Mo?"

At this moment, Mo Yun was in her true mermaid form.

Her face possessed the unique elegance of a mature woman, with brows like distant mountains shrouded in mist, though she now looked a bit dazed and shaken.

A few strands of wet hair clung to her smooth forehead and cheeks. Her mature and curvaceous upper body was completely bare, her full breasts rising and falling with her rapid breathing as droplets of water rolled down her snow-white skin.

Her waist was slender, transitioning downward into a deep ink-blue fish tail. The scales shimmered with a mysterious luster under the reflection of the radiance, full of power and exotic flair.

Below the junction of the fish tail and the human waist, there was a curtain-like structure formed by fine, pearl-like translucent white scales. This was the Pearl Scale Curtain of the Merfolk Race.

Perhaps because she had just been forced to appear after an incident in the sea, or due to the energy impact, the Pearl Scale Curtain was not fully closed, faintly revealing a vertical slit beneath.

Ling Hao remembered Mo Yun mentioning that this was a sensitive vital spot used to sense ocean currents, and now it was exposed to his gaze.

Ling Hao's gaze naturally swept over this breathtaking sight, pausing for a moment on the Pearl Scale Curtain before finally landing on Mo Yun's face.

Feeling Ling Hao's gaze move over her, Mo Yun did not struggle or hide. She allowed him to hold her, though her body tensed slightly and a blush colored her cheeks.

Ling Hao held her steadily as he flew toward the shore, asking in a deep voice:

"Clan Chief Mo, why are you here?"

Mo Yun composed herself and said:

"Reporting to Sect Master, I was collecting newly born spiritual materials in the coastal waters with Mo Li and Elder Mo Lan when we unexpectedly encountered this... this world-shaking change..."

She looked toward the still-unsettled sea surface with lingering fear.

Ling Hao nodded in understanding.

When a Small World is first created, it is nourished by the aura of Chaos, causing spiritual energy to flourish. Heaven And Earth Treasures are naturally born from this, providing a bounty that a typical Cultivator's Grotto-heaven cannot compare to.

Even the Grotto-heavens of Mahayana Cultivators do not produce Heaven And Earth Treasures; at that stage, they are still barren lands.

Of course, limited by Ling Hao's cultivation, the scale and foundation of the Moon Shadow Small World cannot currently be compared to a naturally nurtured Major Thousand Worlds.

But Ling Hao firmly believed that one day, his Small World would grow into a supreme Great Realm, or even... the Immortal Realm!

Ling Hao's gaze involuntarily fell upon that area again, his eyes deep as he said:

"Clan Chief Mo, is that place... really only used for sensing water currents?"

Mo Yun followed his gaze, her cheeks turning even redder. She turned her head away slightly, her voice as faint as a mosquito's hum:

"...Yes."

Ling Hao was thoughtful. His left hand, which was holding her fish tail, unconsciously stroked the smooth ink-blue scales.

Curiously, the scales of the fish tail were not as cold as he imagined. They felt as warm as jade to the touch, and even smoother and more supple than human skin.

As his fingertips brushed over the edges of the fine scales, he could feel the elasticity hidden beneath—a sensation that made one's heart flutter.

Under this stroking, Mo Yun's body trembled slightly. Her ink-blue fish tail swayed uncontrollably, and the Pearl Scale Curtain opened and closed slightly as her breathing became even more hurried.

"The Soul-weaving Core is located three inches below the navel, responsible for condensing Soul Power to weave soul silk and for condensing the Soul's power. In that case, there should be a place for nurturing life as well."

"The Great Dao has fifty paths, heaven's evolution is forty-nine, and the one that escapes is the glimmer of hope. For all things, a single possibility is always left."

Ling Hao gazed at Mo Yun's profile and said slowly,

"Is Clan Chief Mo willing to try with me? Perhaps... we can find that glimmer of hope for your Merfolk Race to continue your Bloodline?"

Previously at the Dao Conference, he had engaged in Dual Cultivation with Mo Li's human form. But the mysteries of this true form...

Ling Hao cleared his throat, suppressing his purely academic curiosity.

It really was just curiosity...

After all, practice is the sole criterion for testing truth.

To explore the mysteries of the Great Dao, we Cultivators must not shrink from our duty.

Hearing this, Mo Yun instantly understood the Sect Master's intention.

Her mind raced with a thousand thoughts. The Merfolk Race relied on the Moonshadow Sect. From losing their home to settling in Wangyue Lake, the Still Sea, and now moving into this Small World, they had all the resources and Cultivation Techniques they needed. The Sect Master had treated them with kindness as great as a second life.

When she had sent Mo Li to serve him, she felt it didn't even repay one-ten-thousandth of his kindness.

If she could try with her own body to find a glimmer of hope for her race, even if it involved her most private part, what was there to refuse?"

The Sect Master was the hope of their entire race.

She closed her eyes, her long eyelashes trembling like butterfly wings:

"Mo Yun... is at the Sect Master's disposal."

Ling Hao gently placed Mo Yun on a smooth, flat black reef on the shore that had been washed by the seawater.

...

Beneath the distant sea surface, two anxious figures were darting through the water.

Mo Li's azure fish tail carved graceful arcs through the green waves, its pearl-like luster flickering; Mo Lan followed closely behind, her sea-green tail fin thrashing.

Both were in their true mermaid forms, their graceful upper bodies completely exposed and shimmering in the clear seawater, their faces filled with panic and worry.

Not long ago, the weather had suddenly changed, causing the two of them to be separated from Clan Chief Mo Yun.

"...Where are you!"

Mo Li's tearful cry was muffled by the seawater.

Suddenly, Mo Lan's sharp gaze pierced through the waves, locking onto a direction.

"Mo Li, over there!"
