145: The Cool School Prince Extra 2
"Do you like it?"
Shen Mo's voice suddenly came from behind, startling Wen Ci so much that she almost dropped the box.
She turned around flustered, seeing Shen Mo leaning against the doorframe, a half-smile on his face.
"I... I didn't mean to..." Wen Ci stammered, her eyes already red, "I just..."
"Just thought I was going to propose to someone else?" Shen Mo walked over and took the ring box.
Wen Ci's tears finally fell: "We've only been dating for two months... I know it's too fast... If you have other..."
Her words were cut short by Shen Mo's kiss, a gentle yet firm kiss, until Wen Ci stopped trembling. Only then did Shen Mo release her.
"Silly girl." Shen Mo wiped away her tears with his thumb, "This ring was designed by me personally. I started preparing it the first day you transferred here."
Wen Ci's eyes widened: "What?"
Shen Mo pulled her to sit on the edge of the bed and gently explained: "Remember when I said I fell in love with you at first sight? That wasn't a joke. At that time, I knew you were the person I wanted to spend my life with."
"But... we've only been dating for such a short time..."
"Time doesn't matter." Shen Mo looked into her eyes earnestly, "What matters is that I know what I want. And you..." He paused, "If you think it's too fast, I can wait."
Wen Ci looked into Shen Mo's deep eyes, the sincerity and love in them making her heart pound.
She suddenly realized that she didn't need to consider the issue of time at all; her heart had long since completely belonged to him.
"I don't need to wait." Wen Ci whispered, her cheeks flushing, "I just... didn't expect you to... so soon..."
Shen Mo's eyes lit up: "Then, will you..."
"Wait!" Wen Ci suddenly interrupted him, "Are you really going to propose like this? On a bed in a guesthouse?"
Shen Mo was stunned for a moment, then chuckled: "Of course not." He winked mysteriously, "Seven o'clock tonight, wear that beautiful dress. I'll be waiting for you by the lake."
Wen Ci's heart beat even faster: "What are you going to do?"
"A secret." Shen Mo kissed her forehead, put the ring box back in his pocket, "Now, let's go meet up with our classmates."
At six-thirty in the evening, Wen Ci stood in front of the mirror, nervously adjusting the hem of the dress. Shen Mo had given her this dress last week, saying he had specially chosen it for their graduation trip.
Now, she realized, everything had been premeditated.
"Wen Ci, are you ready?" The class monitor called from outside the door, "Shen Mo asked me to come get you."
Wen Ci took a deep breath and opened the door: "Where is he?"
The class monitor was stunned by her beauty, taking a long time to react before smiling mysteriously: "Just follow me and you'll know."
There was a small path from the guesthouse to the lake, lined with string lights that twinkled with warm light in the twilight. Wen Ci grew more and more nervous as she walked, her palms already slightly sweaty.
"We're here." The class monitor stopped, pointed ahead, and smiled, "You go the rest of the way by yourself."
Wen Ci nodded and continued along the path. After turning a corner, the sight before her made her hold her breath—
In an open space by the lake, candles formed a heart shape, filled with rose petals.
Shen Mo stood in the center of the heart, wearing a white shirt and dark trousers, looking like a dream in the glow of the setting sun.
Even more astonishing, dozens of drones hovered over the lake, arranged to spell out "Marry Me."
Tears instantly welled up in Wen Ci's eyes. She covered her mouth, unable to believe what she was seeing.
The gentle and handsome young man reached out his hand to her, his voice soft and firm: "Come here, Ci Ci."
Wen Ci walked towards him, trembling, each step like she was treading on clouds. When she stood before Shen Mo, the drones suddenly changed formation, forming a giant ring design.
Shen Mo knelt on one knee and took out the diamond ring from his pocket: "Wen Ci, from the moment you walked into the classroom, my world became different. You are the most beautiful presence in my heart, and I want to spend the rest of my life cherishing and loving you.
Will you marry me?"
Wen Ci's vision was blurred by tears, but she clearly saw the love and anticipation in Shen Mo's eyes. She nodded vigorously, her voice choked: "I will... Of course, I will..."
Shen Mo carefully placed the ring on her ring finger, then stood up and pulled her into a tight embrace.
Drones burst into fireworks patterns in the sky, and the lake reflected the dazzling light, as if the whole world was celebrating their love.
"Actually..." Shen Mo whispered in her ear, "I've already talked to your parents. They're very supportive of us."
Wen Ci looked up in surprise: "When?"
"It was when I went to your house to 'borrow books' before." Shen Mo winked slyly, "Your mother even gave me some... advice."
Wen Ci's face instantly turned red: "What advice?"
"If you like children..." Shen Mo's lips brushed her ear, "We can have a cute baby like you sooner."
Having a baby, the implications of which were self-evident.
"Shen Mo!" Wen Ci was instantly flustered and embarrassed. She raised her fist to hit him, but he laughed, hugged her, and kissed her instead.
The kiss was gentle and lingering, until the sun completely sank into the lake and the starlight began to twinkle.
"So..." Wen Ci leaned in Shen Mo's arms and asked softly, "We're engaged now?"
"Mm." Shen Mo stroked her long hair, "We'll get married after college graduation, okay?"
Wen Ci nodded, then suddenly remembered something: "Wait, are we still sharing a room tonight?"
A hint of slyness flashed in Shen Mo's eyes: "Isn't it normal for an engaged couple to live together?"
"But..."
"Don't worry." Shen Mo kissed her forehead, "Just sleeping. Of course, if Ci Ci has other ideas, I certainly won't refuse..."
Wen Ci, blushing, covered his mouth: "Shut up! Who has other ideas!"
Shen Mo smiled, pulled her hand down, and kissed it, lacing their fingers together: "Come on, my fiancée, our classmates are still waiting for us to celebrate."
In the distance, the classmates had gathered by the lake at some point, holding champagne and sparklers, their cheers rising and falling.
Wen Ci looked at everything before her and suddenly felt incredibly happy.
With the college entrance exam over, life had just begun, and the boy she loved most would be her lifelong companion.
"I love you, Shen Mo." She whispered.
Shen Mo tightened his arm and responded in her ear: "Ci Ci, I love you too, always."
Under the starlight, two young souls made an eternal promise, and the gentle ripples of Erhai Lake witnessed their pure love.
