25: The Yandere Warlord's Substitute Bride 25
Sleepless all night, Wen Ci saw that the sky outside was already turning white, and couldn't help but push the man on her with annoyance, "Where did you learn all these new positions? Also, you're so energetic, are you not planning to get out of bed today?"
Her whole body was numb, and she didn't believe General Fu was still indifferent.
The naked man grabbed her fingertips and kissed them repeatedly, his eyes filled with wild desire, "Because... it feels so good, doesn't my wife feel good?"
Wen Ci's ear tips flushed; this was naturally an undeniable fact.
General Fu was getting more and more vigorous in bed, but she didn't want to stay in bed all the time.
She hadn't been idle lately; every day, she went out to wander around, enjoying all kinds of food, drink, and entertainment. The main reason was that General Fu was truly wealthy; she couldn't spend all the money in his family even if she lived for dozens of lifetimes.
Every day, she went to the Mahjong Hall to play mahjong, then to the food street to explore delicious treats, and even had a rickshaw take her all over the streets, visiting many famous places. She also made a few friends while playing at dance halls.
They could arrange to play mahjong, dance, and so on together.
"Get off, Xiaozhou."
General Fu's arms were tightly wrapped around Wen Ci's waist, his chin resting in the hollow of her shoulder, rubbing against her fair neck like a clingy large dog, "No."
Wen Ci was so entangled by him that she couldn't move, "I have plans to go out with someone today."
As soon as she finished speaking, General Fu's body suddenly stiffened.
He slowly raised his head, his eyes terrifyingly dark, and his previously lazy, sated expression was instantly replaced by gloom.
"…Who did you make plans with?" His voice was low and hoarse, carrying a dangerous sense of oppression, "Why didn't you tell me?"
Wen Ci raised an eyebrow, deliberately teasing him, "Are you jealous again?"
General Fu's breathing noticeably deepened, his fingers unconsciously tightening, pinching her waist slightly painfully. His eyes were both aggrieved and sinister, like a large dog abandoned by its owner, yet also hiding a crazy urge to lash out at any moment.
"Wife," he buried his head in her neck, his voice muffled, "Are you not planning to play with me anymore?"
Wen Ci's heart softened. She raised her hand and ruffled his black hair, "Isn't it because I'm afraid you're busy? When you're done, we'll play together again."
General Fu's eyes lit up, but then dimmed again. He was both happy that she had friends to play with and insanely jealous.
Because in that case, her attention wouldn't always be on him.
"I can not be busy," he mumbled softly, his fingertips restlessly caressing her wrist, "I'll go with you, okay?"
He wanted to see who dared to make plans with his wife, and that the butler hadn't even reported it to him.
Damn it.
A sense of uncontrolled fear and insecurity swept over him, and his eyes grew colder.
Wen Ci couldn't help but laugh when she heard him say he wanted to go along, "Are you sure?" She deliberately drew out her words, "I've made plans with a group of ladies and madams to play mahjong…"
General Fu was stunned. So, the ones who made plans with his wife were women.
But, it still bothered him.
Wen Ci keenly noticed his change in mood. She cupped his face and kissed him repeatedly, "Xiaozhou is the best, my heart only has you, my husband. You wouldn't get jealous of these women, would you?"
Hearing his wife soothe him so gently, General Fu's heart melted into a puddle of spring water. Although he was still a little jealous, he felt much better.
He rubbed the palm of his wife's hand, "My dear wife, I also know how to play mahjong. How about I go with you today? I'm off today, not busy at all."
He had originally planned to spend the day playing with his dear wife, which was why he had been so jealous and upset when he heard she had plans with others.
However, even though the group who made plans with his wife were all women, he still had to go along. What if there were men? His wife was so charming, what if she was targeted?
His mind raced with thoughts, which Wen Ci didn't know. After considering his words, she agreed, "Okay, then let's go together. Since you have time today, we'll go and have a good time together."
The two quickly got ready and left.
Inside the Western Mahjong Hall on Avenue Joffre, as Wen Ci entered the private room arm-in-arm with General Fu, the ivory mahjong tiles were clattering loudly.
"General Fu has also come to play cards?" Someone saw General Fu and immediately came up, smiling and greeting him. When he turned and saw Wen Ci's face, his breath caught, and his eyes stared intently.
General Fu sneered, his military boots thudding heavily on the parquet floor, "Do you have an opinion?"
The man immediately sobered up, a cold sweat breaking out on his back as he shook his head repeatedly, "I wouldn't dare, I wouldn't dare."
"This way, please, both of you."
General Fu, however, didn't move. His cold gaze swept over the man, then he raised his eyes and scanned the many other people who were looking over. All of them were startled and quickly lowered their heads.
General Fu's teeth ground together, clenching. The thought of his wife being stared at by so many eyes every time she came to play made his heart ache, and he wished he could gouge out all their eyeballs.
Wen Ci knew he would be jealous. She lightly scratched his palm, signaling that it was time to go.
General Fu's gaze immediately softened. He sighed lightly, but the hand around Wen Ci's waist tightened even more, as if afraid she would run away.
In the distance, several elegantly dressed madams and young ladies were talking and laughing softly. When they saw General Fu, with his arm around Wen Ci's waist, enter the private room, the air seemed to freeze for a moment.
The madams were first stunned, then quickly put on smiles, rising to bow.
"General Fu has also come to play cards today? What a rare guest." Mrs. Chen was the first to greet him, her peripheral vision couldn't help but glance at Wen Ci. Her fair skin, set against the dark green cheongsam, almost made people dizzy.
"Wen Miss's complexion is truly good today." Miss Li pursed her lips and chuckled, her gaze, however, fell on General Fu's hand tightly clasped around Wen Ci's waist, a hint of envy flashing in her eyes.
Wen Ci's lips curved slightly, her fingertips gently resting on General Fu's arm, her posture lazy yet dignified, "You are all too kind."
General Fu's face was cold, not even sparing a glance for anyone else. He only lowered his head and whispered in Wen Ci's ear, "Where do we sit?"
This intimate gesture made the hearts of all the women present tremble. This was nothing like the cold and ruthless General Fu they knew from before.
He actually had such a gentle side.
"Here will do." Wen Ci casually pointed to a seat by the window.
The group took their seats one after another.
Mrs. Wang clutched the silk handkerchief in her hand, thinking of her own family, and forced a smile, saying, "General Fu is truly considerate of Wen Miss, even personally accompanying her to play cards."
General Fu looked up, his gaze as sharp as a knife, "If my wife wants to come, I naturally must accompany her."
The single word "wife" sent a shock through everyone present.
Miss Li's smile froze on her face, and the teacup in her hand nearly tipped over. She had heard her father say that General Fu never indulged in women; such a man, even if he had a wife, would probably not acknowledge any woman's status in public. But now…
Wen Ci glanced at them with a half-smile, seeing that they all seemed to be lost in thought. She slowly drew a tile, "Are you all still playing?"
The madams then came to their senses as if waking from a dream, quickly returning to the card table, but their minds were no longer on the game.
Mrs. Chen kept secretly glancing at General Fu, the warlord rumored to be cold-blooded and violent. At this moment, he was gently arranging the stray hairs by Wen Ci's temples, his movements incredibly tender.
Mrs. Wang's hand trembled slightly as she held her tiles, remembering how impatient her own husband was even to accompany her shopping, and her heart ached with bitterness.
Miss Li, even more so, stared intently at the jade bracelet on Wen Ci's wrist. It was an item from the imperial court of the previous dynasty, priceless and impossible to find, yet now it was casually worn on Wen Ci's hand, glowing with a soft luster as she drew tiles.
Halfway through the game, General Fu suddenly frowned and reached out to hold Wen Ci's fingertips, "They're cold."
Before anyone could react, he turned and said coldly to the outside, "Bring hot tea."
Miss Li finally couldn't help but say sourly, "Wen Miss is truly fortunate; General Fu dotes on you so much."
Wen Ci chuckled. Before she could speak, General Fu had already cast a cold glance, "She is worth it."
Those three words left everyone speechless.
