15: Solve the scholarship problem, published in "Voice of Government Affairs"

Inside the office.

When Gao Ze mentioned the scholarship, the atmosphere suddenly became quiet.

"So Mr. Gao is here for the scholarship!"

"I told Xiao Hui many times, didn't Xiao Hui explain it to you?"

Director Xu looked at Gao Ze in front of him, rose from his seat, smiled with his lean cheeks, and lit a cigarette:

"Xiao Hui's grades are good enough, but for this year's scholarship evaluation in the department, it's not just about grades; it also considers innovation and entrepreneurship abilities. Xiao Hui hasn't shown much in that regard, so she wasn't selected."

"The scholarship was established to encourage students to study diligently and strive for progress."

Gao Ze looked directly at Director Xu and said, "Your school's current focus on students' innovation and entrepreneurship abilities is putting the cart before the horse!"

"Mr. Gao, you are not involved in education, so I don't want to argue with you about that. As an outsider, you can't understand the regulations for scholarship distribution."

"I truly cannot understand, but is there perhaps a problem with your scholarship distribution?"

Gao Ze said, "If there is a problem, I will proceed with an investigation. I am a police officer!"

"Mr. Gao, I know you're a police officer, and a Traffic Police officer at that. Your sister, Xiao Hui, told me. But do you think that's enough to threaten me?"

A faint smile appeared on Director Xu's lips. Gao Xiaohui had brought up her brother's police identity early on, trying to threaten him, but he had checked. Gao Ze was just a minor police officer, and a Traffic Police officer, not a detective.

"I, Director Xu, act upright and sit properly; I have never feared any investigation!"

"Besides, you should know that my administrative rank is higher than yours!"

Gao Ze fell silent, looking at Director Xu, feeling surprised.

He had thought Director Xu would be wary of his police identity, but he hadn't expected his sister, Gao Xiaohui, to have already exposed his identity. The other party knew his background and wasn't afraid at all.

Moreover, Director Xu was not wrong; within the education system, his administrative rank was indeed higher than Gao Ze's.

What should he do now?

Director Xu was not afraid of his police identity at all. Should he really conduct a detailed investigation into Director Xu's questionable history?

While Gao Ze was pondering, his phone vibrated with a buzzing sound. He glanced at it; it was a call from Xu Sicheng of the Pudong Public Security Bureau's Public Relations Department.

At this moment, he had no mind to answer, but suddenly, Gao Ze's eyes darted, a smile appeared on his lips, and he answered the call, putting it on speaker.

"Why are you calling me?"

"Of course, to make you treat me! Gao Ze, do you know that the promotional article I wrote for you will not only be published on our Pudong District's official public account but has also been picked up by "Government Affairs Voice"?"

Xu Sicheng's tone was full of excitement.

Because compared to the Pudong District's official public account, "Government Affairs Voice" is a municipal-level public account, reaching the entire Donghai City's grassroots and higher-ups, with wider publicity and greater influence.

"Gao Ze, do you know that if important figures see your deeds on Donghai City's "Government Affairs Voice" public account, you might just soar to great heights from now on?"

"How did your promotional article get picked up by "Government Affairs Voice"?" Gao Ze felt a deep sense of unexpected joy.

"Well, that's because of your impressive case-solving achievements and my excellent writing skills for promotional articles."

Xu Sicheng chuckled, "But it also wouldn't have happened without the help of my little sister. She passed the exam for the Municipal Propaganda Department last year and works in media outreach.

I sent her the public account article I wrote about you, and their department just happened to need to complete a publicity task, so they adopted it."

It seems one truly cannot underestimate anyone in a system position; you never know who they might be connected to, and if it's a connection to an important figure, that's even more significant.

"I'll treat you to hotpot later!"

Gao Ze was glad he hadn't refused Xu Sicheng's request for contact information, nor had he been rude, otherwise, he would never have had this opportunity today.

After chatting for a few more sentences, he hung up the phone and looked confidently at Director Xu:

"Director Xu, are you still going to withhold my sister's scholarship?"

"Officer Gao, what are you saying? Please, have a seat, have a seat."

Director Xu's previous stern attitude was completely gone, replaced by a warm, spring-like smile as he pulled Gao Ze to sit on the sofa:

"The school's scholarship evaluation regulations do have some flaws. I not only need to consider innovation and entrepreneurship abilities but also academic performance. I will certainly handle your sister Gao Xiaohui's scholarship issue."

"Not just my sister's, but other students' too!"

Gao Ze said, "If your school causes a scholarship scandal that spreads online, you know what kind of impact it will have on you and your school."

"Alright, alright, I will properly handle all student scholarship issues."

Director Xu's face was full of smiles, but the nails hidden behind his back dug deeply into his palm.

Damn it!

What kind of luck did Gao Ze have to be promoted by a Pudong District unit and even be featured by "Government Affairs Voice"?

As an old hand in the system, Director Xu understood that being promoted by a district-level unit meant he must have achieved extraordinary results.

And "Government Affairs Voice" was even more significant; that definitely required major achievements to be selected for publication by "Government Affairs Voice", which targets all personnel within the Donghai City system.

Could such a person simply be a minor Traffic Police officer?

Even if he was before, after achieving results and being promoted, he certainly wouldn't be.

If Gao Ze also knew some influential people and spoke a single word, it would be extremely serious, enough to ruin his entire career.

.........

"After dealing with Director Xu, next is the second-generation rich Zheng Yiren."

After walking out of Director Xu's office, Gao Ze didn't look back at Director Xu, who was seeing him off at the door.

The world is just that realistic.

If it weren't for Xu Sicheng's call today, and if he hadn't been featured on Donghai City's "Government Affairs Voice" public account, Director Xu would never have backed down like this. The person being stepped on today could very well have been him.

"Zheng Yiren, who harassed Xiao Hui, seems to be from the Music Engineering Department."

Gao Ze recalled the information his sister, Gao Xiaohui, had given him about Zheng Yiren's identity and walked towards the Music Engineering Department.

But then suddenly.

With a sharp screech of tires, a fiery red, cool Ferrari 911 sped from the middle of the road, blocking his path and cutting him off.

In the driver's seat of the Ferrari sat a young man with dyed blonde hair and sunglasses, looking arrogant. In the passenger seat sat a curvaceous girl, who was sizing up Gao Ze.

Who were these two?

Gao Ze frowned.
