70: The idea of building power

“Post it on your Moments.”

Li Qingyan indeed posted on her Moments.

She blurred out the private serial number on Gao Ze’s individual First-Class Merit award medal and then posted it.

The caption was simple: “My husband is the best.”

“Husband, what do you think?”

After posting on Moments, Li Qingyan didn’t forget to ask Gao Ze for his opinion.

And she sent him a screenshot.

On the screenshot, the Moments post was not blocked at all, and there were many comments below it.

Most people were shocked, asking about Li Qingyan’s relationship status, whether she was really married, or if it was a joke.

Among them was a comment from her mother, Shen Xiuyan: “Posting such private information without permission is not good for you or him!”

Li Qingyan replied with: “None of your business!”

“Or should I delete it?”

Even her mother, Shen Xiuyan, thought it would affect Li Qingyan, so Gao Ze didn’t want the Moments post to remain.

Besides, he hadn’t officially announced Li Qingyan, which was unfair to her.

“No, I won’t delete it. Why should I?” Li Qingyan replied, “Don’t listen to my mom; it won’t affect me at all.”

“Are you sure?”

“Of course!” Li Qingyan nodded emphatically, but then her phone rang. It was her father calling.

“I’ll take this call first!”

Li Qingyan’s call lasted over ten minutes, which made Gao Ze feel a bit uneasy, but he vaguely guessed that only Li Qingyan’s father could make her hang up on him and still have to answer.

“Was it your father calling?”

When Li Qingyan called back, Gao Ze asked directly.

“Husband, how did you know?”

“Silly husband, sometimes you’re quite smart.”

“Delete that Moments post!” Gao Ze could guess that Li Qingyan posting that Moments post probably came with a price, and it might be a heavy one.

“No, I won’t delete it. No one can control me!”

“They couldn’t control me before, so why should they control me now?”

Li Qingyan’s voice became a bit colder and angrier, like a domineering female CEO in charge of everything, making independent decisions.

“Then can I control you?”

Li Qingyan understood Gao Ze’s meaning. “Of course you can, husband, but I don’t want to delete the Moments post!”

“Of course I’m not asking you to delete it!”

Listening to his naive wife’s resolve, Gao Ze shook his head and changed his approach:

“As a couple, even if it’s a contractual marriage, if we’re going to announce it on Moments, we should announce it together!”

“Really, you want to post too?”

“Of course, but this timing isn’t good. We’ll pick a day and post a photo together, making it public!”

Gao Ze said, “For now, if you don’t want to delete your current Moments post, just hide it.”

After a moment of hesitation, seemingly finding the idea of a joint announcement with Gao Ze more interesting, Li Qingyan finally agreed.

“It seems my father-in-law hasn’t accepted me!”

After coaxing his naive wife and ending the call, a hint of contemplation appeared on Gao Ze’s face.

His father-in-law was of an unapproachable status; he couldn’t possibly not know that Li Qingyan had already registered their marriage with him.

Moreover, he had visited his mother-in-law, Shen Xiuyan.

His father-in-law would definitely know him and be aware of his detailed situation.

However, from that recent call, it seemed he still hadn’t accepted him, only seeing him as a playmate or toy in Li Qingyan’s game.

If his and Li Qingyan’s relationship were truly made public and entered the Li family’s network, various forces would become aware and try to stop it.

“What is my mother-in-law Shen Xiuyan’s attitude?”

“Her family’s influence is no weaker than my father-in-law’s. From my last visit to her, she had a good impression of me, and she even helped me fend off many hidden risks during the Zheng Jiasheng incident.”

Gao Ze’s eyes flickered with changing lights, but he ultimately stopped thinking about it.

His father-in-law being neutral towards him and his mother-in-law Shen Xiuyan leaning towards him were external influences, and fundamentally not important.

One must be strong oneself to succeed; as long as he was strong, why bother with so much else?

He was no longer a low-level Traffic Police officer who could be manipulated at will; he had already entered the sight of many important leaders.

Even without his wife Li Qingyan’s connections, as long as he maintained his ability and breakthroughs in cases, his promotion speed would definitely not be slow.

“Mr. Gao, can you come to the coffee shop opposite your Pudong Bureau now?”

Back at the Pudong Traffic Police Center, Gao Ze was just about to get acquainted with the leisurely work of an office director when he unexpectedly received another call.

The caller was Li Qingshu.

“The Ruixing Coffee shop opposite the Pudong Bureau?”

There were many street-side businesses around the Pudong Public Security Bureau, including several coffee and milk tea shops.

“Yes!” Li Qingshu’s soft voice came from the other end of the line.

“Did you order milk tea for me?”

“I can’t say yet; you’ll know when you get to the coffee shop!”

Gao Ze had no choice but to go. As soon as he walked to the Ruixing Coffee shop, he saw a fiery red Ferrari sports car parked at the entrance. Standing in front of the sports car was a clear and ethereal young woman with a delicate face, attracting the attention of staff and many passersby.

“Why did you call me here?”

“Of course, to congratulate you on receiving two First-Class Merits!”

Li Qingshu slightly turned her body, instantly revealing the flowers in the passenger seat of the Ferrari sports car behind her.

These were 199 Black Knight series blue roses, looking solemn and pure, exuding a faint fragrance.

Li Qingshu laboriously took out the flowers, held them in front of Gao Ze, and winked with a smile:

“Mr. Gao, congratulations!”

On top of the Black Knight roses, there was also a thick red envelope. Even without opening it, Gao Ze could tell from its thickness that it contained at least five figures.

“Thank you, the gesture is very thoughtful. You put effort into this.”

Gao Ze didn’t decline; sometimes accepting kindness also makes others happy.

Besides, Li Qingshu and his interests were intertwined.

“Mr. Gao, I’m glad you like it!”

“I also ordered two hundred cups of milk tea for your Pudong Bureau’s Traffic Police Brigade. I wonder if that’s enough!”

Gao Ze: “.......”

It had to be said, Li Qingshu was becoming more and more adept at social etiquette, even considering this step for him.

Was it the confidence and thought brought by investment profits?

“Mr. Gao, why are you looking at me like that?”

Li Qingshu’s face flushed. She touched her face, “Is there something on my face?”

“No, I’m just surprised by Miss Li’s growth!”

“Being with a strong person like Mr. Gao, I naturally grow.”

Upon hearing this, Li Qingshu stopped touching her face and smiled generously, “Besides, Mr. Gao has brought me so many benefits; I can’t possibly be stingy.”

Gao Ze smiled, not saying much.

Everyone understood the principle, but only a few could truly share the results.

Li Qingshu saw his sister Gao Xiaohui’s Moments post and immediately prepared so much, which definitely showed she put thought into it.

“Is Mr. Gao busy today?”

“Not busy now. The socializing at the commendation ceremony is over.”

“Then can you have a cup of milk tea with me?”

Li Qingshu pointed to the Ruixing Coffee shop behind her, her eyes full of anticipation: “There are some things I want to tell you, Mr. Gao.”

“What does Miss Gao want to say?”

Gao Ze walked into the Ruixing Coffee shop. There were private two-person seats in the corner here.

He guessed that Li Qingshu wanted to report to him about the profits from gold investment.

“Mr. Gao, you know I know Xiao Hui, right?”

Gao Ze was a bit surprised. He didn’t expect Li Qingshu’s first topic to be this. He nodded, “I know!”

“I knew I couldn’t hide it from Mr. Gao!”

“But when did Mr. Gao know?”

“When Xiao Hui was studying, I accidentally saw her class roster and remembered your name.”

Regarding Li Qingshu’s identity, it was naturally from the system intelligence. Gao Ze casually made up a reason.

“Then that means Mr. Gao knew me from the very beginning when you first met me.”

“Oh dear!”

Li Qingshu covered her face, feeling socially mortified, not daring to open her eyes to look at Gao Ze.

“Suddenly I feel like a clown, always pretending in front of you!”

“Also, about the commendation ceremony, I only found out through Xiao Hui’s Moments!”

Listening to Li Qingshu’s self-deprecating remarks, a smile appeared on Gao Ze’s face, and his mood felt as sweet as milk tea, infected by hers.

Li Qingshu, on the other hand, talked more and more.

Once she knew her identity had long been exposed, she completely let go of her burden.

She talked about interesting things at the Music Academy, gossip about friends, and her own admirers. She also talked about her relationship with Gao Xiaohui.

From being originally indifferent, she now could be called a friend.

She seemed to have found a confidant, as if she wanted to express all her thoughts, feelings, and experiences accumulated over the years.

“Miss Li, we’ve made a lot of profit from the gold market now, but it’s still small-scale.”

“Have you ever thought about starting your own company?”

After Li Qingshu finished speaking in one breath, Gao Ze looked at her and also expressed his inner thoughts.
