2: Black Phoenix Stewed Hundred-Year-Old Demon Ginseng

Chen Heng slowly got out of bed, leaning on the bedside to stand up.

He was extremely weak now, even breathing was a little difficult.

Furthermore, the original owner of this body had been an alcoholic for years and never exercised, so he basically had no muscle at all.

Struggling to walk to the table, Chen Heng stared intently at the chicken soup in front of him.

His life or death depended on this one chance.

"Optimization," Chen Heng clicked the optimization button on the System interface.

A flash of light passed, and the century-old ginseng chicken soup disappeared.

"Where's my soup?" Chen Heng looked at the clean tabletop with a bewildered expression.

"What the hell, does your Optimization just make things disappear?!"

"I haven't even had century-old ginseng chicken soup yet, and you drank it first!"

[Optimization complete, Host please retrieve it from the system backpack]

Chen Heng was startled and quickly opened the system backpack.

A golden, shimmering bowl of chicken soup lay quietly inside.

[Black Phoenix Stewed Hundred-Year Demonic Ginseng]

Chen Heng's eyes widened; this soup sounded impressive just from its name.

He just didn't know if his small body could handle such a powerful tonic.

If one sip of soup exploded him, it would be all over.

Although Chen Heng hesitated, his current leaky body couldn't afford to hesitate any longer.

With the mentality of treating a dead horse as if it were alive, Chen Heng took out the bowl of 'Black Phoenix Stewed Hundred-Year Demonic Ginseng'.

The moment the bowl of soup appeared on the table, an extremely Strong fishy smell pungent smell rushed towards him.

"Ugh~" Luckily, Chen Heng's stomach was empty, otherwise he would have definitely thrown up.

This stuff was really too fishy, smelling like fish guts that had been left out for several days.

"Can I really drink this?" Chen Heng deeply doubted that he would immediately die after drinking this bowl of soup.

"Forget it, I'll risk it!" Chen Heng gritted his teeth, pinching his nose with one hand and picking up the soup bowl with the other.

Gulp, gulp.

Chen Heng was quite a ruthless person; he swallowed the entire bowl of foul-smelling 'Black Phoenix Stewed Hundred-Year Demonic Ginseng' in one go.

"Ugh..."

After two dry heaves, Chen Heng sat back on the bed.

...After a while, aside from the occasional fishy stench rising from his stomach, the soup seemed to have no effect.

"Forget it, I'll just wait to die."

Sighing, Chen Heng pulled his small quilt back over himself.

But the next moment, an unexpected change occurred.

An extremely terrifying burning sensation surged from within his body.

That fishy stench also transformed into a strange fragrance.

"It hurts..." Chen Heng gritted his teeth tightly, not making a sound.

It wasn't that he was tough enough, but that he was in too much pain to utter a sound.

Puffs of burnt smell emanated from Chen Heng's body, and intense pain spread throughout his entire being.

Ink-black flames surged from Chen Heng's seven orifices, seemingly intending to burn him to ashes.

In a daze, Chen Heng seemed to see his great-grandmother standing by the Bridge of Helplessness, waving at him.

"It's over..."

The next second, Chen Heng lost consciousness.

The ink-black flames not only ignited Chen Heng's body but also set the entire room ablaze.

"Fire! Come and put out the fire!" A shrill scream rang out, and the entire Chen Family Courtyard plunged into chaos.

An hour later, Chen Heng slowly woke up.

He vaguely opened his eyes, looking at the completely different room with some confusion.

"What, did I transmigrate again?"

Rubbing his temples, Chen Heng sat up from the bed.

"Young Master, you're awake!" A soft, petite body pounced on him.

"Xiao He?" Although Chen Heng wasn't fully awake, he still recognized the young girl in front of him.

"Young Master, you wouldn't believe it, but not long after I left your room, the courtyard started smoking."

"You don't even know, when we dug you out from under the rubble..."

Xiao He cried and complained, snot and tears streaming down her face.

But Chen Heng's thoughts were not on Xiao He at all.

He wasn't dead?

"Xiao He, you go out first and let Young Master have some peace." Chen Heng felt that the hole in his body seemed to have disappeared.

And a very strange power had appeared.

"Oh, I'll go get Young Master another bowl of chicken soup." Xiao He wiped her tears on Chen Heng's quilt and turned to leave the room.

"She stopped crying pretty quickly." Chen Heng stood up from the bed.

Completely different from before, the feeling of weakness had vanished, and Chen Heng felt like he had endless strength now.

Maybe he could arm wrestle with Old Green Ox.

"What am I thinking." Chen Heng scoffed at himself.

"How could I possibly beat Old Green Ox..."

Chen Heng casually tried to pull a chair to sit down, but the chair broke the moment he touched it.

That was a mahogany chair; even if an old ox came, it would take some effort to break it.

"?" Chen Heng's brain crashed for a moment, and the next second he realized that this might be the credit of that bowl of 'Black Phoenix Stewed Hundred-Year Demonic Ginseng'.

Looking at his fair, callus-free hands, Chen Heng was very curious about how strong he was.

Coming into the courtyard, Chen Heng immediately spotted the half-human-tall stone mill.

Taking a deep breath, Chen Heng stood firm, spread his stance, and embraced the stone mill.

With a low shout, Chen Heng almost fell to the ground.

It wasn't that he couldn't lift it, but that the stone mill was a little too light.

This stone mill, weighing at least a thousand pounds, was as light as nothing to Chen Heng.

"How strong am I exactly?" Placing the stone mill back on its base, Chen Heng became increasingly curious about his current limits.

He couldn't have really turned into a superhero, could he?

"Oh, and that other thing." Temporarily putting aside his exploration of his strength limits, Chen Heng tried to control the strange power within his body.

The moment Chen Heng touched that power, strange patterns wrapped around his arm.

Ink-black flames ignited, setting his entire arm ablaze.

But Chen Heng didn't feel the slightest discomfort; instead, he felt very comfortable.

It was like his arm was being soaked in warm water.

"How magical..." Chen Heng controlled the flames to appear and disappear without any sense of obstruction.

It was as if he was born to control this flame.

"It shouldn't burn, right?" Chen Heng turned to look at the stone mill, feeling a little eager.

"You've worked hard, Brother Stone Mill~"

Chen Heng retracted most of the flames, keeping only a small wisp at the tip of his right index finger.

The flame at his fingertip slowly approached the stone mill.

A strange scene appeared; the stone mill seemed to be corroded by something, and a small hole appeared.

And Chen Heng's finger was perfectly inserted into that hole.

"I don't think I even touched it, did I?"

Chen Heng swallowed, this power was a bit terrifying.

The granite stone mill instantly turned into ashes.

"No, I need to find a place to try it out." Chen Heng's eyes darted around, and several mischievous ideas popped into his head.

But before he could act, a scream interrupted his thoughts.

"Ah! Someone's dead!"

"That direction, is it the kitchen?" Chen Heng frowned and quickly ran over.

By the time Chen Heng reached the kitchen, it was already surrounded by several maids.

"Move aside!" Chen Heng shouted, and the maids immediately stood obediently to the side.

A young girl lay on the ground, her eyes wide and her face ashen.

It was Xiao He, who had just offered to get him chicken soup!
