252: ethereal celestial beings

After settling the three Household Guardian Beasts, it was time for Chen Heng's long-awaited loot inventory.

Apart from some personal belongings in his own snake skin pouch, everything else was thrown to Bai Jun.

Walking into Bai Jun's room, the kid was still pressing his face against the spirit gathering furnace, inhaling deeply.

"Hehehe, my big treasure..."

Chen Heng's face darkened, and he directly pulled Bai Jun away from the spirit gathering furnace.

"Stop acting crazy here. I want to discuss something with you."

Seeing Chen Heng enter, Bai Jun returned to normal.

"What is it?"

"Can you still make some more of those dragon tiger great tonic pills?"

Yes, Chen Heng had taken a liking to the dragon tiger great tonic pill Bai Jun had made by hand earlier.

It wasn't for any other reason, but simply because Chen Heng felt that something was off about the Xiantian Grandmaster Realm.

His strength had indeed increased, but it always felt different from every previous stage... Simply put, Chen Heng felt that the Xiantian Grandmaster Realm was like a transitional period between Innate and Celestial Being.

So, Chen Heng's goal was to advance to the Celestial Being Realm and see what the Peak of the Martial Dao looked like.

"Of course I can! Last night, I inventoried the Materials in the national treasury and those we acquired earlier."

Bai Jun took out five snake skin pouches and one dragon skin pouch.

"There are plenty of Materials here, and I've also broken through to the Nascent Soul Realm, so I can try refining some Medicinal Pills that I couldn't before."

"Even better than the dragon tiger great tonic pill?" Chen Heng's heart stirred with excitement.

From ancient times until now, no one knew how many years of cultivation and Qi and blood it took to advance from a Xiantian Grandmaster to a Celestial Being.

Chen Heng could only slowly explore all of this by himself.

It wasn't exactly slow exploration; if push came to shove, he would just keep taking Medicinal Pills until he broke through.

He refused to believe that he couldn't advance to Innate even if he pushed his cultivation to ten thousand years.

"Yes, there's a dragon phoenix golden elixir that's very suitable for Big Brother Chen."

Bai Jun nodded, recalling a legendary Medicinal Pill in his mind.

That Medicinal Pill wasn't difficult to refine; it only required the refiner's Realm to reach Nascent Soul, plus some 'precious medicinal Materials'.

Such as Dragon bones, Phoenix marrow, and other such Materials.

But the difficulty of this Medicinal Pill lay precisely here; the true Phoenix Clan and Dragon Clan had disappeared for thousands of years, so where would Cultivators find Dragon bones and Phoenix marrow now?

However, Chen Heng was different; he had an abundance of Dragon Clan Materials.

"Then you get ready. In a couple of days, you'll go into seclusion with me."

Chen Heng nodded with satisfaction, planning to take his exclusive Medicinal Pill refining boy, Bai Jun, into seclusion with him.

"Huh?" Bai Jun was stunned, scrutinizing Chen Heng in front of him.

"Seclusion? You? Big Brother Chen, are you serious?"

"Don't be funny. You still need to go into seclusion? If you go into seclusion again, I bet you'd even dare to fight an immortal."

"Do you have an objection?" Chen Heng raised an eyebrow.

"I don't have an objection, but I just don't understand why Big Brother Chen wants to go into seclusion. I remember you just advanced to Xiantian Grandmaster..."

Bai Jun scratched his head; he truly didn't understand why Chen Heng was so obsessed with power.

It felt like it was becoming an obsession.

"It's like this..." Chen Heng told Bai Jun about his feelings after advancing to Xiantian Grandmaster.

Perhaps from a Cultivator's different perspective, he could find an answer.

"You ask me, but I don't know what's going on either." Bai Jun spread his hands.

"The Martial Dao and our Dao of cultivation are two completely different things. I think it's more appropriate to ask Qian Fa."

"That guy has lived for thousands of years; he definitely knows more than I do."

Bai Jun's words reminded Chen Heng; how could he have forgotten about that big blue-brained guy?

Chen Heng nodded and took off the token hanging from his waist.

Gently turning a mechanism on the token, Qian Fa's voice rang out from within the token.

"..." Chen Heng didn't speak immediately; looking at the token in his hand, he felt a sense of déjà vu.

Yes, it was the feeling of holding a phone and making a call... "Mr. Chen, may I ask what you need from me?" Seeing Chen Heng not speak, Qian Fa asked again.

"How much do you know about the Martial Dao of current martial artists?" Chen Heng got straight to the point, not wasting another word with Qian Fa.

"I don't know much, but I do have some understanding." After saying this useless remark, Qian Fa seemed to guess what Chen Heng wanted to ask.

"Mr. Chen isn't asking about the Celestial Being Realm of martial artists, is he?"

"Exactly. How many years of cultivation does it take to reach the Celestial Being Realm?" Chen Heng nodded, even though he knew Qian Fa couldn't see him.

"Also, why does the Xiantian Grandmaster Realm feel completely different from the previous Realms?"

"Based on my understanding, there's actually nothing wrong with the Xiantian Grandmaster Realm." After a moment of thought, Qian Fa slowly explained what he knew.

"It's just that as a martial artist's Realm grows, they move further and further away from the broad definition of 'Human'."

"The Xiantian Grandmaster Realm is the last Realm for a martial artist as a 'Human', signifying that the potential of 'Human' has reached its limit."

"Because Mr. Chen, your own power is extremely strong, you feel that the Xiantian Grandmaster Realm isn't very strong."

"In reality, a Xiantian Grandmaster can already contend with a great demon in the Demon Saint Realm."

"So that's how it is..." Chen Heng didn't fully believe Qian Fa's explanation, but he believed a part of it.

"Then what's the deal with Celestial Being? Does it mean that after advancing to Celestial Being, one is no longer a 'Human'?"

Chen Heng frowned and asked again.

"No, actually, among the Human Race, there is no such thing as the 'Celestial Being Realm' that martial artists speak of."

Although Qian Fa's voice was still gentle, it exploded in Chen Heng's ears like thunder.

"The Celestial Being Realm is merely a term used by Human Race martial artists to describe transcending the limits of the Human Race."

"But so far, I have not received any information about an existence that could be called 'Celestial Being Realm'."

"Then you also don't know how to transcend the limits to reach the so-called Celestial Being Realm, do you?" Chen Heng frowned, but he didn't give up on his pursuit of Celestial Being because of Qian Fa's words.

One must know, there was a sentence in the description of the Asura Bloodline that Chen Heng always remembered:

With a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood as the path, and the seven emotions and six desires as the Dao, one eventually becomes an Asura, which is 'Celestial Being'.

"Yes, Mr. Chen, I am also not clear about this." Qian Fa did not deny his lack of understanding regarding Celestial Being.

"I understand." Chen Heng nodded and was about to hang up the 'call'.

"Wait, Mr. Chen!" Qian Fa, seeing Chen Heng wanting to end the conversation, called out somewhat excitedly.

"The matter of annihilating the Aristocratic Families that you and I agreed upon earlier..."

"Don't be so impatient. When the time comes, I will naturally act."

With that, Chen Heng directly hung up the phone, no longer wasting words with Qian Fa.

"Big Brother Chen..." Bai Jun looked at Chen Heng cautiously.

He seemed to have misunderstood something, thinking that Chen Heng had been disheartened by the ethereal 'Celestial Being'.
