340: You can't just turn them over and stuff them into the ground, can you?

"What, do I have to pay before I finish eating at your place?"

Chen Heng raised an eyebrow and turned to look at the man beside him.

"That's not it, I just noticed that you all seem to be outsiders, and I'm afraid..."

The man was honest enough to directly state his concerns.

"Considering how honest you're speaking, I won't bother with you," Chen Heng waved his hand and pulled out a fifty-tael silver ingot from his pocket.

"Guest, we don't accept silver here," the man looked at the large silver ingot on the table, scratched his head, feeling a bit awkward.

"Don't accept silver?" Chen Heng nodded, put away the silver ingot, and took out a thumb-sized gold ingot.

"You accept gold, right?"

"This..." The man hesitated. This one piece of gold was enough to buy ten tables of such food, but he still couldn't accept it.

The laws of the Chengtian Empire were very strict; no one was allowed to privately accept metal currency like gold and silver.

"How about this, guest, this meal is on me. Please take back your gold."

The man sighed; he didn't have a better solution.

"Please don't get angry yet. Our Chengtian Empire doesn't allow the collection of gold and silver. You can take your gold and silver to a money changer to exchange for paper money."

Seeing Chen Heng's expression change, the man quickly explained.

"Paper money?" Chen Heng was stunned.

Although he could imagine that there would be its own financial system here, he didn't expect that even something like paper currency had been developed.

"I understand. You two wait for me here." Chen Heng wouldn't make things difficult for such a small shop.

Moreover, the man's attitude was very good, so Chen Heng planned to go exchange some money first.

"Where is the money changer?"

"Oh, there's no need to trouble yourself. The nearest money changer is in Hengsan Street, over forty li away. This meal is on me."

The man waved his hands repeatedly. He had been running this restaurant for so many years and still had a good eye for people.

The person in front of him was definitely not someone to mess with, and his strength was absolutely formidable, so it was better not to provoke him.

"I understand." Chen Heng nodded and disappeared from his spot in the blink of an eye.

Bai Jun and Luo Shuo continued eating as if nothing had happened, leaving the bewildered man standing by.

A few minutes later, Chen Heng walked into the restaurant carrying a sack half his size.

His appearance was no different from a robber who had just robbed a bank.

"This is so troublesome. That stupid woman at the counter even dared to roll her eyes at me."

Putting the sack on the ground, Chen Heng pulled out a large handful and stuffed it into Bai Jun and Luo Shuo's arms.

"Keep it for use." Chen Heng said this as casually as if he were handing them a wad of toilet paper.

"Big Brother Chen, that smoking place over there isn't the money changer, is it?" Bai Jun looked at the street far away where black smoke was rising, then turned to look at Chen Heng, who had resumed eating.

"Otherwise? I should keep her after she rolled her eyes at me?" Chen Heng put down his bowl, waved his hand, and called the Shopkeeper over.

"How much?" Chen Heng counted out a few banknotes, waiting for the Shopkeeper to give the total.

"But isn't it a bit bad for us to cause trouble as soon as we arrive?" Bai Jun's ears twitched, and he stretched his head out the window to look at the far end of the street.

He saw more than a dozen burly men in grey uniforms walking towards the restaurant.

Each of them looked fierce, and they were all carrying long staffs as tall as a person.

"If he doesn't provoke me, I won't provoke him." After hearing the price of the meal, Chen Heng counted out the corresponding banknotes and handed them to the Shopkeeper.

"Let's go, don't cause trouble for the restaurant." Chen Heng stood up, stretched, and walked out of the restaurant.

As soon as he stepped out, the dozen or so burly men had already surrounded Chen Heng.

"You bumpkin, you dare to cause trouble even after coming to the Royal Capital!"

The leading man pointed his long staff at Chen Heng, his Face full of disdain.

"Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you have some martial prowess."

"That skill of yours might work where you come from, but here, it's a joke!"

"Surrender obediently, and the Security Officer might even give you a lighter sentence."

As he spoke, the long staff in the burly man's hand lit up with a blue light.

"Oh, is this a gun?" Chen Heng's eyes lit up. He walked in front of the burly man and examined the gun in his hand that was glowing blue.

However, compared to the gun they found in the world-suppressing nail, this one was still in a relatively primitive state.

'It seems this place is definitely related to my Fellow Countryman.'

Chen Heng casually snatched the gun from the burly man's hand and played with it.

'Not necessarily. Maybe these people dug out the technology from some world-suppressing nail.'

Shaking his head, Chen Heng returned the gun to the burly man.

"Alright, don't point this fire stick at me, it's useless." Chen Heng waved his hand, intending to leave. He still wanted to stroll around the Royal Capital properly.

On the adjacent street, many commoners were watching.

A drop of cold sweat ran down the forehead of the leading burly man. He hadn't even seen how Chen Heng snatched his spiritual energy gun.

Nor did he see how the spiritual energy gun returned to his hand.

But the laws of Chengtian could not be trampled upon, and if he just let Chen Heng leave like this, what about his Face?

"Stop! If you don't stop, I'll open fire!"

The burly man bravely shouted at Chen Heng.

Chen Heng completely ignored him and walked towards another shop with Bai Jun and Luo Shuo.

Bang!

A metal bullet hit Chen Heng's back of the head, then bounced off to the side.

Chen Heng didn't even realize the burly man had hit him. He turned his head and glanced at the bullet hole in the nearby wall.

"You really shot?"

Chen Heng flashed and appeared in front of the burly man, directly twisting the spiritual energy gun in his hand into a pretzel.

"Alright, scram. You don't earn much in a month, why risk your life?"

"Your Excellency truly has excellent skills." Just as Chen Heng was about to leave, a magnetic voice sounded above his head.

A strikingly handsome young man was seen treading the Void Realm, slowly walking in front of Chen Heng.

"Who?" Chen Heng sized up the man in front of him. Looking at his physique, Chen Heng could crush him ten times with one hand.

"Judge!" The burly man, who was originally hesitating whether to leave, immediately stood up straight and saluted the young man in front of him.

"I am Yi Xing from the Royal Capital Law Court. May I ask Your Excellency's name?"

Yi Xing didn't pay attention to the burly man behind him but looked at Chen Heng in front of him.

"Chen Heng." Chen Heng didn't care about revealing his name; he always acted openly and honorably.

"Mr. Chen, did you destroy the money changer on Hengsan Street?" Yi Xing smiled at Chen Heng.

"It was me. That woman rolled her eyes at me, and I'm supposed to just endure it, right?" Chen Heng took a step forward, almost Face-to-Face with Yi Xing.

"Mr. Chen, I can understand your anger and displeasure. I've encountered such problems before."

Upon hearing the reason, Yi Xing immediately understood.

"But you can't just flip the entire money changer upside down and bury it in the ground, that's a bit too much."
