Chapter 75 Live-Fed Farm - Kidnapping

In Zone D, Bai Xiao had only seen a few cameras near the iron gate. Zone B was completely different—just like a Hotel in the real world, the corridors and lobbies were filled with cameras.

While she was still searching for a suitable target, several Administrators on her end grew panicked when she failed to return for an extended period. They hurriedly reported to the Team Leader. The matter could be minor or serious, and the Team Leader dared not conceal it, reporting truthfully up the chain.

By then, Bai Xiao had already avoided the cameras and infiltrated the catering department via the stairs. At the restroom at the end of the corridor, she knocked out a cleaner who was pushing a cart to collect miscellaneous items.

She quickly swapped clothes and face coverings with the cleaner, pulled the rear end of the utility cart inside the restroom door, and stuffed the bound, gagged, and unconscious cleaner into the cart.

Bai Xiao then nonchalantly pushed the utility cart, continuing the cleaner's previous work.

To avoid exposing her tracks too quickly, she pushed the utility cart all the way up to the Hotel floors. There, she switched to a Hotel linen cart and moved upward, searching for a more suitable identity.

Meanwhile, news of her disappearance in Zone B had spread completely. The former Zone D Team Leader began a thorough investigation into her recent daily activities. The Park's Guard Team also intensified patrols. Within Zone B's building, especially below the Hotel guest rooms, searches were tightened.

By this time, Bai Xiao had already reached the thirteenth floor, arriving at the Hotel's premium suite area. Seeing a room with a 'Please Clean' sign hanging on the door, she knocked and checked inside. She continued until she found a young woman living alone on the fourteenth floor who was roughly her height.

As soon as she entered with fresh linens, she locked the door behind her. Seizing the moment the woman turned around, she knocked her out, quickly changed into the woman's clothes, then put the cleaner's uniform on over them. She first went out to place the linen cart in the linen room, then removed and discarded the cleaner's uniform inside.

When she reappeared in the corridor, she had transformed into a young woman wearing casual business attire.

Returning to the Hotel suite, Bai Xiao moved the unconscious, undressed woman onto the bed. Using the fresh linens she had brought in, she secured the woman's body flat against the bed, wrapping her up as if packaging a corpse.

The woman was awakened by a splash of cold water. She woke up in shock, staring at the stranger wearing her clothes and her own mask.

She opened her mouth to scream for help, but before a single syllable could escape, a silver sword pressed against her neck like lightning. The cry that was about to burst from her throat was choked off.

"You... who are you?" the woman asked, her voice trembling.

"From now on, I ask the questions. You don't have the right to ask me anything."

As she spoke, Bai Xiao pressed the sword a fraction closer. The sharp blade drew a thin line of blood on the woman's neck. Bai Xiao was in a dangerous situation and needed to clarify everything quickly; she had no time to waste with this woman.

"How dare you treat me like this? I'm a client of the Park," the woman said angrily.

"If you keep talking nonsense, you won't even get the chance to answer my questions alive." Seeing her lack of cooperation, Bai Xiao pressed the sword forward again. The blade had already cut into the woman's skin. The woman gasped in pain and quickly begged her to stop.

"Now, can you answer the questions properly?"

The woman, shrinking her neck and sucking in air, nodded. She tried to shift her body away from the blade, but unfortunately, she was wrapped too tightly and couldn't move an inch.

"Who are you? What are you doing here? Are you alone?"

"I'm a client of the Park, here to discuss cooperation on raw material supply for the next quarter. I have one companion—he's my superior, named Han Yu."

"Does 'raw material' refer to the blood of the Blue-Bloods?"

The woman nodded in confusion, as if to say, 'What else? What else would anyone come here for?'

"What color is your blood?" Bai Xiao ignored her confusion and continued.

"Red."

Red? Another blood color.

"How many types of people with different blood colors exist in this world, and what are their respective social statuses?"

Hearing this, the woman grew even more puzzled. She could hardly believe that someone in the world would ask a question even a three-year-old would know. Unfortunately, she was at a disadvantage and had to comply. No matter how many questions she had internally, she could only answer truthfully now.

"There are three types of people with different blood colors. We Red-Bloods are of noble lineage, decisive and strong, with extraordinary abilities. Purple-Bloods are hybrids born from unions between Red-Bloods and Blue-Bloods long ago. Their abilities are ordinary, and they can only do low-level work. As for the Blue-Bloods, most of them are timid and cowardly—mere trash, only fit to be lowly playthings and slaves."

Bai Xiao thought to herself that what was called 'timidity' and 'cowardice' might simply be a kinder, gentler nature. Compared to the aggressive and domineering Red-Bloods, they had gradually fallen behind in long-term competition, leading to the current situation.

But even if Blue-Bloods had low status, did that justify harvesting their blood? What was the use of blue blood?

"Since you consider Blue-Bloods so lowly, why do you take their blood?"

The woman answered evasively, "Are you a Purple-Blood? Trying to steal my identity?"

In the current world, technology had advanced rapidly. Some pharmaceutical companies had developed drugs that could gradually dilute the blue pigment in the blood of Purple-Bloods.

However, everyone's blood color and family information were recorded in household registries at birth and couldn't be changed. As a result, some Purple-Bloods took desperate risks, trying to assume Red-Blood identities. Recently, there had been many incidents of Red-Bloods being targeted, and she suspected she might have been targeted by such a person.

Bai Xiao thought, 'Truly a Red-Blood—even with a sword at her neck, she still hasn't learned to behave.' She sneered coldly at the woman, then mercilessly sliced off a large section of the loose hair hanging over her forehead. "Answer what I ask. This is the last time I'll remind you."

The cold sword brushed past her scalp with a chilling sensation. For a moment, the woman almost thought the front of her skull was about to be lifted off. She screamed in fright, breaking out in a cold sweat instantly.

She answered hurriedly, "Research in recent years discovered a special substance in the blood of Blue-Bloods. This substance can treat some previously incurable diseases. Besides healing, it's also a raw material for a special beverage. The special beverage has a unique taste and is extremely popular in the market—demand far exceeds supply."

"So, Blue-Bloods aren't protected by law? They can just be captured and bled at will?" Bai Xiao was puzzled. Was this the reason for the Park's existence? But some aspects within the Park clearly weren't that simple.

The woman shook her head, somewhat guiltily. "No, everyone is protected by federal law. So..."

Bai Xiao continued, "So, farming Blue-Bloods is illegal. This Park is also illegal. Is that why everyone here wears masks? How did you enter the Park? Where is the main gate? How do you leave afterward?"

"Everyone who wants to enter must apply in advance. Once approved, they are mailed a Park ID card and a mask. Everyone arrives with their masks on, waiting at a designated location. We were all brought in by a unified bus. Once on the bus, everyone is drugged unconscious. I don't know how we entered. Leaving follows the same process."

"When are you leaving the Park?" Bai Xiao pressed.

"In three days."

Three days was too late, Bai Xiao thought. She only had two days left to escape, while the woman still had three days before departure. She couldn't use the woman's identity to leave.

She would have to find another way.
