10: Chapter 10 Mad Donkey: Brother Mo, are you a professional?

Although Zhao Yang's driving skill was only level 4, it was nearly at a professional level—far superior to those Ghost Fire Youths who thought they were so cool.

On the suburban highway, the motorcycle beneath him was like a runaway horse.

Drifting.

Leaning into turns.

Leaving a trail of dust in its wake.

Reaching the roadside in the city, Zhao Yang braked.

Feng Lvzi's face was deathly pale. He tumbled off the bike, his legs giving way as he knelt on the ground and immediately began to retch. "Urgh!"

All the bland, watery food he'd eaten in the detention center came pouring out.

After recovering for a good while, he spoke without much Qi, "Brother Mo... drive safely... you're going to be the death of me..."

Zhao Yang spat, a cold glint flashing in his eyes. "I really do want your life."

Feng Lvzi shuddered. "Brother Mo, don't scare me. I'm not the person you're supposed to kill."

"Who told you to take such an unlucky name?"

Feng Lvzi looked aggrieved. "Brother, I didn't choose the name myself. I'll change it later, alright? I'll change it."

Zhao Yang stopped scolding and asked, "You said your brothers were throwing you a welcome-back party. Where is it?"

Feng Lvzi pointed at the motorcycle. "Brother Mo, what about this bike?"

"Isn't this your brother's bike?"

"No, Brother Mo..." Feng Lvzi was on the verge of tears again.

Heaven as his witness, he didn't even know that person.

They had essentially stolen a bike right at the entrance of the detention center—if things went wrong, they'd be heading right back inside.

"Damn it, why didn't you say so earlier!" Zhao Yang beckoned him over. "Get on, let's go!"

"Brother, where are we going? Ride slower, we're in the city now."

"Stop talking so much nonsense. Get on."

"Sigh..."

Feng Lvzi climbed onto the bike with a long face.

This time, Zhao Yang didn't drive recklessly. The bike stopped directly in front of the Qinglv Street Police Station.

Feng Lvzi's face went pale again. "Brother, what are you doing here? This is a police station!"

"Look at you, such a coward. Go wait over there."

Zhao Yang pointed to a corner in the distance.

Feng Lvzi got off the bike with a series of bows and scrapes, jogged over, but couldn't help stealing glances at the station entrance.

He saw Zhao Yang exchange a few words with the guard, who gave him a thumbs-up. Then, Zhao Yang pushed the bike into the police station.

Zhao Yang guessed that Feng Lvzi wouldn't wait in the same spot, so he didn't look for him and instead walked directly toward the bustling part of Qinglv Street.

Feng Lvzi followed cautiously for a while. After confirming there were no suspicious people around, he caught up. "Brother Mo, Brother Mo... that bike just now, how did you handle it?"

"I told them I found it. It wasn't locked, so I brought it to the station to let them help find the owner."

"Brother Mo, you're amazing..." Feng Lvzi showed a look of admiration.

For him to do this Acting at the entrance of the police station, he didn't have the guts, nor the Acting skills.

Zhao Yang glanced at him. "You're not bad yourself; your alertness is quite high. Want to work for me?"

"Huh?" Feng Lvzi's heart skipped a beat, and he quickly shook his head. "I'm honored that Brother Mo thinks so highly of me, but I'm... a sentimental person. I don't want to leave Jinghai."

Zhao Yang didn't pursue the topic. "Where are your brothers? Where's the party?"

"Wait a moment, let me make a call."

Feng Lvzi found a phone booth and dialed a number.

Before long, a van arrived and took the two of them to a fish stall by the sea.

Over a dozen lackeys were already waiting there—a bald fat guy, a skinny guy with tattoos... a real bunch of misfits.

Feng Lvzi stepped forward and respectfully introduced Zhao Yang to everyone.

Zhao Yang looked disdainful. "You live in a dump like this?"

"Brother Mo, these brothers work out at sea; they're experts at preparing seafood. Please wait a moment, I'll have them go get things ready."

"Fine, go ahead."

Feng Lvzi nimbly set up a sunshade for Zhao Yang, brought over a chair, and even thoughtfully served a plate of fruit. "Brother Mo, please sit for a while. I'll call you when the food is ready."

Zhao Yang waved his hand dismissively, his face full of contempt.

Feng Lvzi led his men into the cabin of a fishing boat.

"Brother..." A lackey named Camel couldn't help but ask. "That Brother Mo, what's his background?"

Feng Lvzi's expression was grim. "He has quite a background. I'm not sure of the specifics, but serve him well and don't provoke him."

"Brother, could he be a cop? Should we test him?"

As Camel spoke, he pulled out a dagger.

Feng Lvzi's eyes darted around. He pushed open the window and looked at Zhao Yang, who was strolling by the sea.

He saw Zhao Yang look up at the sky and suddenly flick his hand.

Two sea ducks fell from the sky.

Silence filled the cabin.

Camel looked confused. "Brother, what is he doing?"

Feng Lvzi slammed the window shut and lowered his voice, "Put the knife away. He's coming."

Clang!

Zhao Yang pushed the door open, tossed the two sea ducks inside, and said flatly, "Add these to the meal. You know how to clean them, right?"

"Yes! Yes!" Feng Lvzi nodded repeatedly. "Brother Mo, is there anything else you'd like to eat?"

"Just make whatever you see fit."

Having said that, Zhao Yang turned and left.

Feng Lvzi and the others squatted down to examine the two sea ducks.

They saw a rusty iron nail embedded in each of their heads—clearly scrap nails picked up from the boat's deck.

The nails had entered through the ducks' eyes, piercing through their skulls with half the length still showing.

Several people gasped.

Camel touched the dagger in his jacket and silently pulled his hand back.

Feng Lvzi swallowed hard. "Test him? My ass. What cop could do that? Brother Mo is a professional."

"A professional what?"

Feng Lvzi made a throat-slitting gesture. "What the hell do you think? Hurry up and prepare the food for Brother Mo! Fast!"

The men shrank their necks and went about their tasks.

Soon, a grand feast was ready.

Feng Lvzi and his lackeys respectfully toasted Zhao Yang and served him food.

Zhao Yang didn't use the cup they offered. He grabbed a bottle of beer, gripped the neck, and pried it open with his thumb.

Pop!

The bottle cap flew right off.

He took a swig for himself.

"Brother Mo is amazing!" Feng Lvzi quickly clapped.

...

Halfway through the meal, Feng Lvzi leaned in. "Brother Mo, if I may be so bold... besides that... what other business do you usually do?"

"None of your business." Zhao Yang looked at him indifferently and nodded toward the others. "I'm actually quite curious, what kind of business can a bunch of misfits like you do? A money-losing business?"

Feng Lvzi felt a bit annoyed.

Although he feared Zhao Yang, even a man has his pride.

"Brother Mo, how about I take you to see the business we do? It's incredibly profitable."

"Sure, I'd like to broaden my horizons."

Feng Lvzi slapped his thigh. "Then... we'll go tomorrow night!"

...

The moon was dark and the wind was high.

The sound of screeching brakes shattered the tranquility of the Xiawan Sandyard.

Several vans crashed through the gates of the sandyard.

Feng Lvzi led his subordinates inside one after another, beating everyone they saw and smashing everything in sight.

Wails and screams filled the air.

Feng Lvzi's boss was Xu Jiang, while the owner of this sandyard was Bai Jiangbo.

Xu Jiang and Bai Jiangbo were like fire and water on the Jinghai Dao.

But Zhao Yang saw it clearly—these two were just two dumb dogs, the pawns of the old fox Chen Tai.

The earliest big brother on the Jinghai Dao was Chen Tai. Later, he went ashore and cleaned up his act, leaving the illegal businesses to Xu Jiang and Bai Jiangbo to manage. While these two fought tooth and nail, Chen Tai sat securely in the background, reaping the benefits.

Zhao Yang surveyed the brawl and nodded. "Feng Lvzi, your brothers aren't bad. They're disciplined enough not to kill anyone."

Finally receiving praise, Feng Lvzi felt as if he had eaten honey. "Brother Mo, you're making me blush."

Just then, a sandyard worker who had already been knocked down suddenly lunged up, swinging a shovel toward Feng Lvzi's head.

"Brother! Watch out!"

Camel shouted a warning.

But it was too late.

The shovel whistled through the air, and in the blink of an eye, it was above Feng Lvzi's head. If that hit landed, he would be severely injured, if not killed.
