11: Chapter 11 Meng Yu: That man is terrifying!

Zhao Yang remembered a scene from the original plot; if An Xin were the undercover, he would have used his body to block a shovel to save Feng Lvzi's life.

But he was much faster than An Xin.

With a tug, Feng Lvzi was pulled off balance, narrowly avoiding the shovel.

Immediately after, Zhao Yang threw a punch that landed squarely on the worker's chin.

The worker didn't even make a sound, falling straight to the ground and passing out.

Feng Lvzi, still shaken, panted heavily, "Brother Mo... thanks! You saved my life."

Zhao Yang's expression remained indifferent. He turned back to the car and stretched. "Is it done? If it's done, let's go."

Feng Lvzi exhaled. Seeing that his subordinates had already removed the circuit boards from the engineering vehicle, he waved. "Retreat!"

...

Upon returning to the city, the car drove straight to the Platinum Palace.

Feng Lvzi said with a fawning look, "Brother Mo, let's go! I have to thank you properly today!"

"Platinum Palace..." Zhao Yang looked at the magnificent entrance and smacked his lips. "Xu Jiang's territory."

Feng Lvzi gasped, "Brother Mo, you know about it?"

"Nonsense. If I'm working in Jinghai, of course I have to get the facts straight." Zhao Yang said calmly, "Yesterday's sand quarry belonged to Bai Jiangbo, right? I remember there's another old geezer in Jinghai called Chen Tai?"

"Um... this..." Feng Lvzi didn't dare say much more. "Brother Mo, let's go in and have some fun."

He decided to hurry and report to Xu Jiang.

...

Inside the private booth, the lights were neon green and red.

Hostesses in micro-skirts used all their charms to please Feng Lvzi's group.

Zhao Yang leaned back on the sofa, holding a bottle of beer in his right hand and sipping it slowly, while his left hand rested on a hostess's thigh, stroking it idly.

The girl's stage name was Sisi, and she was the most beautiful and tall among all the hostesses. She was more than willing to accompany Zhao Yang. Feng Lvzi's group were all eyesores with crude manners, but this "Brother Mo" was as handsome as a movie star, though his gaze was a bit too cold.

Out of the corner of his eye, Zhao Yang saw Feng Lvzi quietly leave the booth.

He put down his beer bottle and followed.

At the end of the hallway was a keypad-locked door.

Feng Lvzi waved at the camera above, and the lock clicked open. He pushed the door open and walked in.

Sitting in the room was a burly man with slicked-back hair and a neatly trimmed beard. His dark face held eyes that flickered with ruthlessness.

The owner of the Platinum Palace, Xu Jiang.

"Who is that person you brought back?" Xu Jiang stared at Feng Lvzi. "You're serving him like he's your own father."

Feng Lvzi smiled bitterly. "Boss, he's a real handful. In the lockup, he almost killed me..."

He recounted the events at the Detention Center, looking fearful.

Xu Jiang frowned. "You're saying he mistook you for someone else? For real?"

"It should be true." Feng Lvzi lowered his voice. "When he realized he had the wrong person, he cursed Meng Dehai. His voice was low, but I heard it clearly. He probably got the info from Meng Dehai, knowing that the Lawyer Feng I was supposed to kill was in the lockup and looked a bit like me."

Xu Jiang looked him over and couldn't help but laugh. "You really are unlucky."

"Boss, it looks like Meng Dehai isn't clean either, actually associating with someone like this."

Xu Jiang frowned. "Have you tested him?"

"He doesn't say much, and I didn't dare to ask." Feng Lvzi swallowed. "But from the way he acts, he shouldn't be Meng Dehai's subordinate."

"Oh? Why do you say that?"

"I heard him say, 'The way Meng Dehai does his job...' If he were really Meng Dehai's man, would he curse him like that?"

"Hmm... makes sense." Xu Jiang pondered for a moment. "I'll go meet him later."

...

While Feng Lvzi was reporting, Zhao Yang returned to the booth, found a piece of wire, and planned to pick the keypad door lock directly.

Keypad doors of this era usually had a mechanical keyhole hidden somewhere for emergencies when the electronic System failed. With Level 6 Mechanical Proficiency, opening this kind of lock was child's play.

On his way back, he noticed Camel and three others surrounding a fashionably dressed beautiful girl.

Looking at her delicate features, Zhao Yang remembered that this girl was Meng Dehai's only daughter, Meng Yu. In the original plot, she happened to be at the Platinum Palace with friends when her friend was harassed by Camel's group. She stepped up to defend her friend but ended up surrounded herself. Later, An Xin encountered them and resolved the situation by pretending to be Meng Yu's boyfriend.

Now the undercover was Zhao Yang, but the world's inertia remained; Meng Yu still ran into Camel's gang.

His way of solving it was much more violent than An Xin's.

Zhao Yang stuffed the wire into his pocket and charged forward with Killing Intent.

He kicked Camel from behind, sending him sprawling, and then began punching and kicking the four of them.

Icy Killing Intent erupted from him, which even a desperate criminal like Camel couldn't withstand. The four were so scared they didn't dare fight back, rolling on the ground as Zhao Yang beat them—of course, even if they had fought back, they wouldn't have been his match.

Seeing someone help her, Meng Yu quickly approached. "Thank you!"

Zhao Yang didn't bother with her.

He continued beating Camel and the others, forcing them toward Xu Jiang's office.

This reckless girl, Meng Yu, actually followed him.

Zhao Yang suddenly turned around, his expression icy and like a ghost's. He pointed at her and snarled, "Get lost! If you come any closer, I'll beat you too!"

"Ah!"

Meng Yu was so frightened by that sinister, distorted face that she almost sat on the ground, her mind going blank. She stumbled away, her face pale as she ran out of the Platinum Palace.

...

It so happened that An Xin was passing by on patrol. He saw Meng Yu running out of the Platinum Palace and immediately stopped the car.

"Meng Yu!"

Hearing An Xin's voice, Meng Yu turned her head sharply, finally losing her composure—

With a loud wail, she burst into tears and threw herself into An Xin's arms.

"What's wrong? Who bullied you?"

"Waaah! An Xin, take me home, I'm scared!"

"What exactly happened?"

"Home! I want to go home! Waaah! Take me home quickly!"

"Okay, okay, I'll take you home."

An Xin couldn't get anything out of her, so he had to drive her home first.

...

Back at the Platinum Palace, Zhao Yang beat and kicked Camel and the other three all the way to the door of Xu Jiang's office.

Xu Jiang saw the footage on the monitor and his face twitched—on the screen, a man was brutally beating Camel and the others, who were rolling around covering their heads, none of them daring to fight back.

"Shit!" Xu Jiang's eyes widened. "What's going on? Infighting?"

Feng Lvzi leaned in to look. "It's Brother Mo! The ones getting beaten are Camel and his crew... what's happening?"

"How the hell should I know!" Xu Jiang kicked him. "Hurry up and go out to ask!"

Feng Lvzi said with a bitter face, "Boss, Brother Mo looks very angry. I don't dare go alone."

"Useless bastard!"

Xu Jiang cursed and was the first to open the door and walk out. "Stop! Stop hitting them!"
