150: Chapter 150 Stop living in a cramped apartment, move into the Love Apartment!

Hai Ping and Su Chun stared at the color brochure, both showing expressions of interest.

“Let's look at the apartment first before deciding,” Hai Ping said in a low voice. “After all, even at half price, it's still a bit more expensive than where we live now.”

Haizao pointed at 3501 and said, “Look, Sis, this room is cheap.”

“Didn't you see it says single room, single bed, and multiple occupants are not allowed?” Hai Ping said. “If it weren't for that requirement, I would have booked this one right now. Although the room is small, the shared living room is quite large.”

“How about...” Haizao's eyes darted around, “renting two rooms in 3501?”

Hai Ping was taken aback. “Two rooms? Do you want to move in with us? That could work, but I don't know how the rent would be calculated.”

Su Chun lowered his voice. “At half price, of course. We'll just say I'm renting the small one, and you two sisters are staying in the other.”

Hai Ping rolled her eyes at him. “Isn't that cheating? No, we can't do that.”

“Hai Ping, what's wrong? Are you not satisfied with the apartment?” Zhao Yang happened to walk over carrying a tea tray. On the tray were several cups of poured green tea. The tea in the glass cups was a clear, translucent emerald green, and a faint tea aroma floated in the air. “Let's talk while we drink. I'm not very good with tea sets, so I just used glass cups. Please don't laugh at me.”

Hai Ping smiled awkwardly. “It's very nice, the tea is really fragrant. I wasn't talking about the apartment just now. I was saying Su Chun wanted to rent two rooms at half price, and then have one of them for Haizao to live in.”

“Oh...” Zhao Yang smiled. “That works too. Just don't make a big deal out of it.”

“Huh?” Hai Ping was stunned. “You don't mind? You'll be collecting a lot less rent.”

“That's why I said don't make a big deal out of it, to avoid expanding the loss,” Zhao Yang laughed. “The apartments on the first floor aren't mine. If you wanted to rent on the first floor, I couldn't just agree to that, but I could help you ask the landlord on the first floor.”

“The fifth floor is better; the first floor doesn't get good light,” Hai Ping blurted out. She realized it wasn't very polite right after saying it, so she quickly added, “We should still... go take a look first.”

“Alright, have a sip of water first, and then we'll head over.”

Zhao Yang picked up his water cup, took a sip, and casually chatted with them, getting a clear picture of this family of three's situation.

As he chatted with Haizao, Zhao Yang realized she was somewhat different from the character in his memory—her personality was on the quieter side, but her gaze was more determined than the Haizao in the show, not that always-helpless and lost look.

On second thought, since she had never met that warm-hearted guy Xiao Bei, it made sense. After making her own way in the world for the past few years, she would naturally be more independent.

Ten minutes later, the four of them went out, walked through the private garden of the villa area, and after another five-minute walk, they finally arrived at Building 3.

Looking at the apartment lobby, which was almost identical to the one in the iPartment show, Zhao Yang subconsciously looked around, but didn't see the main cast from the show—they were probably still out having fun.

3502 was a large four-bedroom apartment. The interior design was minimalist, with plain white walls and light-colored tiles, making the entire place exceptionally bright.

The moment Su Chun and Haizao walked in, they couldn't hide their smiles. This apartment was simply too good. To save money, they didn't want to rent the largest bedroom; they only wanted to rent the smallest room in the double suite. Although the area wasn't much larger than where they currently lived, the room had a large bay window, and with the shared spacious living room and convenient bathroom, it would be infinitely more comfortable to live in than that old building.

Hai Ping made up her mind right then and there: they were moving, next month.

Although they were still renting, living here would immediately elevate their quality of life by a level. The rent was a bit more expensive, but with free water and electricity, if they saved just a little, their cost of living would barely increase.

Seeing that they were already swayed, Zhao Yang said, “I've put this apartment under long-term management with the property management. You can just sign the contract with them, and they will collect the rent. But when you sign, just say that Hai Ping and Haizao are staying in the double room, and Su Chun is staying in the single room. That way, both rooms can enjoy the half-price discount.”

Hai Ping nodded. “I understand. Thank you, Mr. Zhao. If you don't mind me asking, what's the longest we can rent this apartment for?”

“Three years, five years, ten years, eight years—it's up to you,” Zhao Yang smiled. “I don't need it anyway. Renting it out to someone keeps the place from going to waste. If you sign a long-term contract, there might even be a discount on rent. You can discuss the details with the property management; I'm not entirely sure myself.”

Hearing this, Hai Ping felt even more reassured. She pulled Haizao and Su Chun over and said, “Thank you so much, Mr. Zhao. We want to rent this apartment. We can sign the contract and pay the deposit right now.”

Zhao Yang waved his hand. “No need for that now. Like I said, you'll discuss the contract and everything with the property management. Since you want to rent, I'll let them know right away so they won't show these two rooms to anyone else.”

With that, he walked to the side to make a phone call.

The smiles on the faces of Hai Ping and the other two could not be suppressed at all. They had never dreamed they would encounter such a stroke of good luck.

After Zhao Yang finished his call, they all walked out together.

The three of them thanked him non-stop along the way. When they reached the entrance of the neighborhood, Zhao Yang took out a business card and handed it to Hai Ping. “If there are any issues with the apartment that the property management can't resolve, you can contact me directly. This is my personal number. Haizao, you can note it down too. If my previous number doesn't go through, try this one.”

“Alright, alright.” Hai Ping also hurriedly pulled out her own business card and handed it to Zhao Yang.

After exchanging contact information, the three of them took their leave.

While waiting for the bus, Hai Ping kept staring at the business card. “His business card is so strange. It's beautiful, almost like a painting, but it only has his name and contact info on it. It doesn't say what he does.”

“Sis, let me see.” Haizao took the card, examined it for a moment, and then gave it a twist.

“Hey, what are you doing?” Hai Ping quickly stopped her. “Don't ruin it.”

Haizao laughed. “Sis, this business card is custom-made. It can't be torn, it won't get ruined in water, and you can't even light it with a lighter. Our boss specially ordered a box of these, but this one is even nicer than our boss's, and the material is different. It's probably even more expensive. I'm guessing it's nearly a hundred yuan a card.”

“What?” Hai Ping quickly snatched the card back and carefully put it away. “My goodness, who on earth is this Zhao Yang? Haizao, do you know?”

Haizao shook her head. “I... I don't know either.”

“You guys haven't chatted before?”

“No. He never contacted me, and I wouldn't dare to take the initiative to speak to such a wealthy tycoon. I sent him a Dragon Boat Festival greeting, and he didn't even reply.”

Hai Ping thought for a moment. “True. But since he thought of you when renting out the apartment, knowing this rich guy wasn't in vain. You really are our family's lucky star! Come on, Sis will buy you some fried chicken.”

“Actually, I didn't expect it either...”

Although Haizao said that, she was very happy in her heart. Especially the sense of achievement from helping her sister's family gave her a kind of pleasure she had never felt before.

...

On Zhao Yang's side, as he was strolling back, a young beauty suddenly rushed out from around the corner. She was wearing a long dress, had shoulder-length hair, and was clutching a paper bag. Not looking where she was going, she rushed forward with her head down, about to crash right into Zhao Yang.

Zhao Yang was taken aback, and a smile played on his lips—isn't this that who-is-it?
