Chapter 282: Ch 282 : The Thirsty Guests

The True Void was the only reality that mattered. It was the canvas upon which existence was painted.By comparison, the place that six billion Gods and countless mortals called home was nothing more than a bubble.

It was a fragile pocket of warmth and laws floating in an ocean of chaos.

Yet, this bubble was colossal. It contained billions of multiverses, each one a web of billions of trillions of universes.

For a mortal, to travel across a single universe was an arduous feat, a journey that would consume lifetimes even with light-speed technology.

But for Gods? Such distance was like a joke, they could travel through galaxies like they are walking, covering a universe would be called running for them.

And currently, one such God was tearing through the fabric of the universe, fueled by the burning desire for revenge.

Kairos stood inside the sphere of darkness generated by the Unnamed Pearl, which he later named the Pearl of calamity, denoting the calamity he was going to give to Cosmos through it.

His destination was only half a universe away Initially, which wasn’t a lot for a God. Just a few days of journey.

But the journey was complete in just a few hours, which was mainly because of the pearl of calamity which phased through the space like a space ship.

And with it, the wait for revenge was over.

The sphere slowed, the swirling darkness thinning just enough to reveal the star system ahead.

"See that world?" Kairos whispered, his voice trembling with anticipation. He pointed his finger toward a vibrant, blue-green planet rotating lazily in the distance.

"That is Veridia. Lom’s intelligence wasn’t wrong. This is the home planet of Cosmos, and it will be ours to take after we execute him"

Kairos’s gaze lingered on the planet. And he licked his lips, the size of this planet was bigger than some stars.

And that wasn’t all as he looked at it closely and found that he was barely able to cope up with the speed of this planet.

Which meant that this giant planet was not only filled with billions of lifeforms and hundreds of demigods, but also it have a time acceleration which was even faster than his talent of 10x acceleration.

He even began to fantasize about the faith he would be earning in the future.

"We just need to find his God Space now," Kairos instructed his three subordinates. "Which will be near the planet. Let’s find it."

He closed his eyes, extending his senses outward. He tried to lock onto Sunny’s aura, that distinct, arrogant aura of the Cosmos.

He planned to use the Pearl to phase through the walls of the God space and assassinate Sunny before he could even rise from his throne.

Silence stretched in the void.

One minute passed. Then ten. Then an hour.

The four Gods swept the area around Veridia. They scanned the moons. They scanned the orbits.

Nothing.

It was as if Veridia was an orphan planet, devoid of a ruler.

"Kairos," one of the Gods asked, his voice laced with doubt. "Is it possible... that this is not Veridia and Lom lied? Or perhaps Sunny sensed us coming and moved his entire God Space?"

It was a valid question. God Spaces were usually anchored, but Gods could move them and drift away, which was explained by Adam during his end meeting.

"Maybe..." Kairos muttered, wiping sweat from his brow. The doubt was gnawing at him too.

"But I don’t think Lom would lie. He gave us this treasure. If he wanted us dead, his Guard could have crushed us back in Solara. Why send us on a wild goose chase?"

He gritted his teeth, his frustration mounting. "Keep looking! It can’t simply vanish into thin air!"

Just as they were about to search it in higher orbits, a ripple passed through the fabric of space.

Which was caused by an aura, which was overwhelming and sharp. It felt like an aura of a war general.

"There!" Kairos hissed. "He has finally shown himself!"

He channeled his faith into the Pearl and the sphere of darkness surged forward, streaking toward the source of the disturbance a few thousand kilometers away.

But as they drew closer, Kairos suddenly stopped.

The tear in space wasn’t opening for Cosmos, like they were thinking about.

Standing near the distortion in the space were seven figures. They had just exited this hidden space that Kairos knew was the God space of Sunny.

The leader of these seven Gods was terrifying. He wore crimson armor that looked like it had been coated form the blood of his enemies.

His stance was dignified, radiating the pressure of a veteran commander.

Behind him stood six other Gods, their heads bowed in respect and exhaustion, yet a fire burned in their eyes, which was the fire to get stronger.

"Who are they?" one of Kairos’s subordinates whispered, clutching his weapon. "None of them look like Cosmos."

Kairos squinted. He didn’t recognize them either. "Maybe the worlds of these Gods were destroyed, and Cosmos took them in as refugees. It doesn’t matter. They are just lackeys."

He could still remember Cosmos after what had happened that day, he could still imagine the enjoyment on Cosmos’s face when he destroyed solara while eating popcorns.

His anger flared as killing intent began to emit from his body by just thinking about his past.

But he stopped himself as he noticed the armored figure stopping and turning his head, scanning the space.

This was war, the second clone of Sunny. For a split second, War’s gaze seemed to linger right on the invisible sphere where Kairos was hiding.

Kairos held his breath. ’Can he see us?’

War frowned beneath his helmet. He felt... something. A prickle on the back of his neck. A sense of being watched and a tinge of killing intent.

But when he extended his senses, the outcome was nothing, he didn’t sensed anything.

’Is someone spying on us?’ War thought.

He scanned the sorroundings again. Still nothing.

He shook his head. ’perhaps just a weak demon god hiding with some unique talent. If it were a threat, my intuition would have screamed already. Let’s leave this to the main body, i have newbies to train.’

"Let’s go," War commanded his six trainees, turning his back on the hidden intruders. "We need to find a new target for the circle formation drill"

War and his squad walked away from the entrance to the God space, heading deeper into the dark space.

But in doing so, they had shown the location of the God space to the four intruders.

The distortion in space, the gateway to the City of Gods, was still fluctuating, slowly sealing shut behind them.

"Let’s go, let them be, after we take care of that Cosmos, we will make these Gods work under us" Kairos said, as he phased through the space and entered the God’s space of his biggest enemy, Cosmos.
