18: Snake Four Lady
“Is that so?” Wei Xun still felt a little worried after hearing the Demon Snake’s words.
“Absolutely!” The Demon Snake nodded and continued to bow in submission: “As long as you are willing to accept me, I am willing to call you Big Brother.”
“Uh… you’re a bit too big.” Wei Xun was suddenly at a loss for how to choose. If such a large black snake followed him around every day like Xiong Er and the others, he wouldn’t be able to sleep soundly.
But just as Wei Xun was hesitating, the Demon Snake unexpectedly shrank rapidly, eventually becoming only the size of a normal snake.
“Now that I’ve become like this, is it acceptable?” Only after the Demon Snake shrank did Wei Xun feel relieved. If this were the case, he could reluctantly agree.
“Alright then!” Seeing the Demon Snake’s sincere expression, Wei Xun could only nod in agreement: “However, if you want to follow me, you must obey my commands. If you’re unwilling, you can leave at any time.”
“I will obey Big Brother’s command!” The Demon Snake happily agreed.
Wei Xun saw that the Demon Snake’s wounds were still seeping blood, so he took out the healing medicine he had previously acquired from the Da Kou Space and used his tail to pick up the powder and sprinkle it on the Demon Snake’s wounds.
“You’re injured, so heal your wounds first!” After Wei Xun finished speaking, he jumped down from Xiong Er’s back and then began to search the good items on the human corpses lying on the ground.
These humans also had a lot of copper coins on them, some even had broken silver, and various medicines.
All these items were swallowed by Wei Xun into the Da Kou Space, and their weapons were also swallowed.
However, after all the items from these dozen or so people were put into the space, Wei Xun could clearly feel that the Da Kou Space was very crowded, having reached its storage limit.
After doing all this, Wei Xun looked at the human corpses on the ground, then at Xiong Er, who was drooling with desire, and turned to Xiong Er and the Demon Snake, saying, “Deal with the corpses. I’m going back first.”
After saying this, Wei Xun walked back to the cave by the Creek Pond without looking back.
After Wei Xun left, the Demon Snake also returned to its original large size and, along with Xiong Er, cleaned up all the corpses on the ground.
Not long after Wei Xun returned to his cave, he saw Xiong Er arrive, carrying the Three-Flower Cat and the Demon Snake on his back.
Xiong Er seemed very full. After reaching the cave entrance, he found a comfortable spot to lie down and prepared to sleep.
The Three-Flower Cat jumped onto a large tree branch nearby and also began to doze off.
After the Demon Snake arrived, not knowing where to go as she was new, she coiled up by the Creek Pool to rest.
After the recent battle, the Demon Snake was clearly somewhat weak. Observing through his Spirit Seeking Eyes, the Spiritual Qi light points within her body were all gathering near the wound, seemingly automatically repairing her body.
“Do you have a name?” Wei Xun asked the Demon Snake curiously from the cave entrance.
“My mother laid five eggs in one litter!” The Demon Snake turned her head and replied when she heard Wei Xun’s question: “I was the fourth to hatch, so I’m ranked fourth. I gave myself a nickname, Snake Si Niang.”
“Snake Si Niang?” Hearing this name, Wei Xun frowned, feeling it wasn’t very smooth to say, so he said, “From now on, I’ll just call you Si Niang. It’s smoother that way.”
“I’ll listen to Big Brother!” Si Niang nodded.
At this point, Wei Xun suddenly paused, then realized that, unknowingly, the three little brothers he had taken in were exactly Xiong Er, Three Flowers, and Si Niang.
They all called him Big Brother, what a coincidence!
In the following days, Wei Xun still sent the Three-Flower Cat to scout the Forest ahead, instructing her to report back immediately if any humans appeared.
However, since more than a dozen hunters had died in the Forest earlier, the remaining hunters made no further moves.
Later, Wei Xun, still uneasy, snuck to the vicinity of the human camp under the cover of night, only to find that it was already deserted, with only traces of their encampment left on the ground.
After resolving the human hunter crisis, Wei Xun wholeheartedly began to Cultivate.
He only needed to fill the 300,000 progress points to Breakthrough into a Yao Beast.
According to the Demon Cultivation Mind Technique, after reaching the third Realm of a Yao Beast, one can Breakthrough to become a Yao and Cultivate into human form.
Furthermore, the Demon Cultivation Mind Technique also explained two methods of shapeshifting into a Yao.
The first method is that after Cultivating to the Yao Beast Realm, one can forcefully refine the demon core within their body. Even without going through the three Realm Breakthroughs, one can shapeshift into human form and become a Yao.
This method is very simple. One only needs to supply all the Spiritual Qi entering the body to the demon core. If one continues to use this method after becoming a Yao Beast, it can take as quickly as one or two years, or at most five or six years, to Breakthrough into a Yao.
Some Shapeshifting Spirit Grass can even directly allow shapeshifting after being consumed.
However, using this method to quickly become a Yao Beast has no upper limit, making it difficult to continue Cultivating.
This method is called Half-Cultivation to Yao, where only the demon core is Cultivated, not the body.
Even after becoming human form, a large number of original features will be retained.
For example, if you are a pig Yao Beast who Cultivated using this method, then after shapeshifting into human form, you will look like a pig walking upright, even with human hands and feet, but other parts will not change from the original pig’s body.
Another method is to honestly accumulate Cultivation, constantly Breakthrough through the first, second, and third Realms of a Yao Beast, and finally shapeshift into a Yao and gain human form.
This method of shapeshifting into a Yao is called Full-Cultivation to Yao. After shapeshifting into human form, only a very small portion of original features will be retained, or even none at all; to the naked eye, it will be identical to a human.
However, there is also a special situation: a Yao Beast who chooses Full-Cultivation to Yao and reaches Perfection in the third Realm of a Yao Beast may encounter a certain Bottleneck, making it difficult to Breakthrough into a Yao.
At this point, one can also forcefully shapeshift the body, but it will be somewhere between Half-Cultivation to Yao and Full-Cultivation to Yao.
It retains a small portion of original features, but the upper limit of Cultivation will not be very low.
Snake Si Niang is currently facing this Bottleneck, but she is determined to achieve Full-Cultivation to Yao, so she has been stuck in this Realm for many years, unable to Breakthrough.
However, by observing the changes in the light points on Si Niang’s body through his Spirit Seeking Eyes, and comparing them with the descriptions in the Demon Cultivation Mind Technique, Wei Xun roughly guessed why Si Niang was stuck in this place.
It is because the most critical process from the Perfection of the third Realm of a Yao Beast to becoming a Yao Beast requires a large amount of Spiritual Qi to impact the demon core within the body in a short period, refining the demon core into a demon core.
As long as the demon core is formed, shapeshifting into a Yao Beast can be successful.
To help Si Niang Breakthrough into a Yao Beast, Wei Xun only needed to pull off a few ginseng whiskers from the Da Kou Space and let Si Niang swallow them. This would help her break through the final shackles.
However, Wei Xun currently had no such intention, because once Si Niang Breakthroughs into a Yao Beast, her strength would become even greater, and it would be uncertain whether she would still obey him.
Therefore, he must be stronger than Si Niang to make them obedient.
Wei Xun understood the principle of the strong preying on the weak.
