163: A revolutionary crushing force

As soon as Lu Fan heard there was a situation, he immediately pulled his focus back.

A deep blue light flashed beneath Ah Fu's sunglasses; it took the time of a single cigarette for him to return to normal.

"Boss—Japanese Marine Corps detected two blocks away at the one o'clock position.

The Japs are fanning out in a horn formation, searching toward our position."

Lu Fan's vigilance instantly spiked. Japanese infantry battalions were one thing.

But the Japanese Marine Corps was no joke; they were well-equipped, had polished tactical movements, and possessed formidable combat power.

They had experienced them at the Gongda Cotton Mill; these were the elite of the Japanese Army.

As the saying goes: those who come are not friendly, and those who are friendly do not come.

"Everyone, prepare for battle!" Lu Fan's command was clearly transmitted to every team member's ear through their headsets.

"Li Zhenshan, take your First Company and occupy that row of two-story buildings on the left to set up firing points.

Bai Jinbiao, Second Company will flank to the right and set up an ambush.

Li Glasses, take the snipers. Er Mao and San Zhuzi, lead the Rocket Artillery teams to retreat and occupy advantageous attack positions.

Everyone else, use the street ruins and broken walls as cover to form a frontal defense line. Don't fire until they're close!"

The orders were swiftly carried out.

The team members silently and quickly entered their respective combat positions, cold muzzles pointing toward the street corner where the enemy was about to appear.

Soon, the silhouettes of the scouts from the First Company of the Japanese Marine Corps appeared at the end of the street.

They provided alternating cover and advanced cautiously, demonstrating extremely high military proficiency.

"Fire!" Lu Fan gave the order.

In an instant, a scorching metal storm swept out from both sides of the street!

The dense strafing of type 85 submachine guns;

The continuous roar of qjy-201 general purpose machine guns;

The precise sniping of S-sniper rifles, and the Rocket Artillerys specifically targeting crowded areas.

The street was instantly transformed into a corridor of death.

The dozen or so Japanese soldiers charging at the front didn't even understand what was happening before they collapsed to the ground, riddled with blood.

"Enemy attack! Take cover! Return fire!"

The Japanese company Commander reacted extremely quickly, and the surviving veterans immediately rolled to find cover.

At the same time, they began to fire back with their type 38 rifles and Type 11 light machine guns.

Bullets whizzed through the air above the narrow street, sending masonry and debris flying.

The explosions of grenades rose and fell as both sides fired frantically at each other across barricades and ruins.

Relying on the advantages of automatic fire, Rocket Artillerys, and bulletproof vests, the Security Team quickly achieved complete fire suppression.

But the Japanese soldiers were extremely tenacious, resisting desperately using every corner and every broken wall.

Their precise rifle fire also posed a certain threat to the Security Team.

However, trouble soon followed.

"Boss—the Japanese 13th Infantry Battalion is flanking us from the rear-side," Ah Fu's urgent voice rang out.

Lu Fan made a prompt decision and ordered: "Bai Jinbiao, retreat in an orderly fashion and move to intercept the Japanese infantry battalion."

Reinforcements from the Japanese 13th Infantry Battalion arrived and immediately joined the battle, attempting to form a pincer attack with the Marine Corps.

However, they were sent howling by Bai Jinbiao's barrage of submachine guns and Rocket Artillerys.

Even so, the Japanese relied on their numbers and familiarity with the terrain to gradually stabilize their footing and begin a frantic offensive.

Facing the desperate Japanese charges, the Security Team benefited from advanced weaponry and the superiority of the Three-Three System Tactics.

Despite being attacked from the front and back, the Security Team successfully held their positions.

The battle between the two sides fell into a cruel tug-of-war.

Tragic struggles broke out in every alleyway and every house.

But as time passed, after withstanding several waves of Japanese attacks, the Security Team began to handle the situation with ease.

In particular, the Rocket Artillery team led by Li Glasses, with an ample supply of shells, had completely figured out their rhythm.

They demonstrated long-range strikes to the fullest extent, and under their lead—

Explosions and gunfire melded together, and Japanese blood stained the broken walls and ruins of Shanghai.

Seeing that they couldn't take the position and were suffering heavy losses, the Japanese Commander flew into a rage. "Tanks! Bring up the tanks!"

Before long, the Japanese type 89 medium tanks rumbled forward.

Although the armor of these 'turtle boxes' wasn't thick, they were still a huge threat in street fighting where heavy firepower was lacking.

They used their 57mm short-barreled guns and mounted machine guns to blast and strafe the Security Team's firing points, covering the infantry as they advanced step by step.

With infantry-tank coordination, the offensive suddenly became intense.

"Rocket Artillerys! Take them out!" Li Zhenshan roared.

Several 40mm rockets whistled out and accurately hit a tank.

With a boom, that thin-skinned tank began to emit thick smoke and ground to a halt.

But more tanks were still approaching, with Japanese infantry following behind and firing frantically.

Looking at the battlefield situation, Lu Fan decisively ordered: "All units, pay attention! Alternating cover! Retreat!

Lure them to the open area near the industrial zone. Old Li, execute Plan A!"

The order was given, and the Security Team began an orderly retreat.

Using their experience in urban warfare, they resisted street by street and house by house, cleverly luring the Japanese forces forward.

Seeing the other side "retreating in disorder," the Japanese grew even more confident, and the infantry pursued relentlessly under the cover of the tanks.

Just as the Japanese pursuers all poured into the open ground, attempting to deploy into an encirclement formation, an astonishing scene occurred.

The large warehouse doors on one side of the open ground suddenly burst open.

Accompanied by the low and powerful roar of engines, one, two, ten... a full twenty type 80 main battle tanks painted in modern digital camouflage charged out like steel behemoths.

Their massive bodies and long 105mm rifled barrels formed a stark generational gap compared to the Japanese tanks.

"What... what is that?!"

The Japanese soldiers at the very front were dumbfounded, hardly able to believe their eyes.

"Fire!" Lu Fan's cold voice delivered the final judgment.

In the next moment, the type 80 tank cluster let out an earth-shattering roar!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The 105mm high-explosive shells, like invitations from the God of Death, accurately rushed toward the Japanese type 89 tanks.

Upon impact, the tanks were easily torn apart and blown away like toys, turning into balls of burning scrap metal.

The tanks' coaxial machine guns sprayed a dense rain of bullets, pouring down on the Japanese soldiers.

The powerful penetration instantly tore the Japanese soldiers to pieces.

In contrast, when the Japanese light weapons hit the composite armor of the type 80 tanks, they could only strike insignificant sparks.

They were simply unable to cause any effective damage.

The type 80 tanks, firing with all their might, charged forward like the scythe of the Grim Reaper, harvesting every standing target.

They swept across the battlefield with the force of a landslide, demonstrating absolute dominance.

Soon, the battlefield became a slaughterhouse for the Japanese.

The meticulously organized offensive formation was completely shattered within just a few minutes.

The Japanese were panicked and fled in all directions, but there was nowhere to hide.

The steel torrent advanced ruthlessly. Beneath the tracks lay nothing but the broken limbs and charred equipment of the invaders.

In less than half an hour, this Japanese pursuit force, composed of elite Marine Corps and an infantry battalion—

Was completely crushed and annihilated under the weight of modern armored power.
