82: Kill without mercy

While Lu Fan was at a loss, a green icon appeared on his glasses.

In an instant, he found his bearings and murmured excitedly, "Yes~ use this, use this~~"

Following the prompts from the glasses, he took out a Basic Recovery Potion and poured it directly down Ah Fu's throat.

A dozen or so breaths later, the glasses showed that Ah Fu's vital signs were rising rapidly.

Only then did Lu Fan breathe a sigh of relief.

He then walked over to the only survivor on the scene, Scarface A Si.

He stepped heavily on the knee that had been pierced by a bullet.

As the agonizing pain hit, Scarface A Si let out a shrill, wretched scream.

"Ah... it hurts... mercy..." Scarface A Si's face was covered in tears and snot as he spoke incoherently.

Lu Fan's muzzle was locked onto the center of the man's forehead, his voice devoid of warmth. "Why did you kidnap Ah Fu?"

"He... he was reporting to you... he was your mole... we didn't dare move against you... so we could only... only take it out on him... wanting to... to force you out..."

Under intense pain and fear, Scarface A Si stumbled over his words.

"Who ordered this?" Lu Fan pulled the bolt, chambering a round.

"Young Master Yao! It was Young Master Yao! Young Master Zhang Fayao!" A Si twitched with pain, not daring to hide a single thing.

"He... he thought we weren't watching you closely enough... he punished us... we... we wanted to make up for our mistakes..."

"Why is Zhang Fayao investigating me?" Lu Fan's voice grew even colder.

"Because... because of the auction!" A Si bared his teeth in pain.

But looking at the cold muzzle and the overwhelming stench of death, he forced himself to endure the pain. "Some time ago... at the black market auction... there was someone in a clown mask... who snatched several batches of high-demand goods that Young Master Yao had his eye on... making the Young Master lose a lot of money... and... and making him lose face in public... Young Master Yao... Young Master Yao thinks... that person might be you."

"Because only you... you're close with Boss Sheng... and you can get your hands on quality goods..."

"Where is Zhang Fayao right now?" Lu Fan asked the final crucial question.

"The cas... casino! Xiafei Road... the Great World... the 'Xinli' Casino behind it!"

"Young Master Yao... he's definitely there. If he's not there now, he'll definitely be there tonight."

A Si grabbed onto this like a lifeline, shouting eagerly, "I've told you everything I know! Master Lu... Grandpa Lu!"

"Spare my dog's life! I'll never do it again..."

Having obtained all the answers, Lu Fan looked down coldly at A Si, who was begging like a pile of mud. "Spare you?"

A cold arc curled at the corner of his mouth. "When you touched my person, did you ever think about the consequences?"

Before his voice had even faded—

"Bang!"

The gunshot was exceptionally ear-piercing in the empty warehouse.

A Si's begging stopped abruptly, a new bloody hole appearing in the center of his forehead.

Naturally, he also thoughtfully fed some "lead peanuts" to the two thugs who had been stunned by electricity at the door; after all, if you don't pull up the weeds by the roots, they will only grow back when the spring breeze blows.

Having finished all this, Lu Fan quickly picked up Ah Fu, whose vital signs were stabilizing, and drove straight to the Leistede Research Institute.

Meanwhile, at Xiafei Road, in a private room on the second floor of the "Xinli" Casino.

The room was thick with smoke, the clattering of Pai Gow tiles, excited cursing, and the giggles of women all mixed together.

Zhang Fayao was in the middle of a gambling streak, a large pile of chips in front of him and a heavily made-up woman snuggled against his side.

His face was flushed with excitement and alcohol as his fingers tapped the table, urging the dealer to reveal the tiles.

"Young Master Yao! Young Master Yao! This is bad!" A lackey burst through the door in a panic, his face pale and his voice trembling.

"Damn it! You looking to die?" Zhang Fayao, his fun interrupted, flew into a rage and hurled a chip at the man.

"Get out! Even if the sky is falling, it can wait until I finish this hand!"

"Young Master Yao! Something... something really big has happened!" The lackey didn't dodge, shouting with a sob in his voice, "Brother A Si, Scabby Head, and the others have been killed!"

"In that old warehouse in Pudong, they're all... all dead!"

"What?!" Zhang Fayao stood up abruptly, knocking over his chair as chips clattered all over the floor.

Then came a volcanic eruption of fury: "A Si is dead?! Who did it?!"

A Si was not just his subordinate; he was the cousin of his recently favored concubine.

Everyone knew this; killing A Si was the same as slapping Zhang Fayao's face.

"I don't know. I heard gunshots when I went to deliver food. When I went inside the warehouse, I found Brother A Si and the others... all... all lying there..."

The lackey was shaking all over from fear.

"Useless! A bunch of useless trash!"

Zhang Fayao kicked over the gambling table in front of him, sending chips and Pai Gow tiles flying, causing the woman beside him to scream and scramble away.

His eyes were bloodshot as he roared, "A Long! A Hu! Baozi! All of you, get in here!"

As soon as he finished speaking, three lean and powerful figures flashed into the private room like ghosts.

Leading them was the eldest, A Long, who was brawny with a face as hard as iron and sharp eyes.

The second was A Hu, who had a hideous scar on his face and bulging muscles, radiating a ferocious aura.

The third was Baozi, who was lean but had the most agile and cunning eyes.

These three were the most capable "Double Flower Red Poles" under Zhang Fayao.

"Young Master Yao!" the three responded in unison, their voices low and powerful, instantly suppressing the chaos in the room.

"Follow me!" Zhang Fayao's teeth ground together as he squeezed out the command. "To the Pudong warehouse! A Si has been whacked."

"I want to see which bastard with the balls of a lion dares to touch Zhang Fayao's people!"

The group, brimming with murderous intent, drove straight to the abandoned warehouse in Pudong.

Inside the warehouse, the smell of blood was nauseatingly thick.

In the dim light, A Si lay on his back in a corner, his limbs crippled and a bloody hole in the center of his forehead.

The three brothers—Long, Hu, and Baozi—immediately fanned out upon entering to carefully inspect the scene.

A Long crouched by A Si's body, examining the wound and touching the bullet holes in the wall with a furrowed brow.

A Hu checked Scabby Head and the other two corpses, his expression grave.

Baozi moved like a phantom, his gaze scanning every inch of trace on the floor.

A few minutes later, Long and Hu returned to Zhang Fayao's side.

"Young Master Yao," A Long said in a low voice, "the one who did this has extremely accurate marksmanship; almost everyone was killed with a single shot."

"The movements were clean and efficient, with no signs of a struggle. They used an M1911."

A Hu picked up the thread, pointing to the shell casings and the positions of the bodies. "Looking at the trajectories and the scene, there was only one opponent."

"They moved incredibly fast, killing their way in from the door with a clear objective."

"Our people... were taken down before they could even organize a decent resistance."

"This is a tough customer, a real pro!"

As Zhang Fayao listened, the muscles in his face twitched, and his fury intensified.

One person?

Had slaughtered dozens of his men like they were chickens?

"One person killed all my men?! Useless! All of them are useless!" For a moment, a sense of humiliation rushed to Zhang Fayao's head.

"Calm your anger, Young Master. We have a new discovery over here."

Baozi led the group to the side door, pointing at the clear tire tracks in the mud outside.

"The opponent came by car and entered the warehouse through the side door. Look at the width, tread pattern, and depth of these tire prints."

"While we can't tell exactly what car it is, it is definitely a new car."

A fierce light flared in Zhang Fayao's eyes as he looked in the direction Baozi was pointing. "A new car. Good!"

He turned abruptly to the three brothers and gave a strict order:

"Follow this lead for me! Dig three feet deep if you have to, but find that bastard for me!"

"No matter who he is! No matter which rat hole he's hiding in! Find him—"

He roared hysterically, every word carrying a bone-deep murderous intent: "Kill! Him! On! Sight!"
