83: A drop of water in need is a spring of water in return.

Inside the sterile operating room of the Reister Medical Research Institute, the shadowless surgical lights were cold and piercing.

Ah Fu's small body lay on the operating table, covered in injuries.

Bruises and swelling were everywhere, with multiple rib fractures and a cracked left arm.

The most horrifying part was his eyes—swollen like peaches, the ocular structure violently destroyed into a bloody mess; he was completely blind.

Lu Fan wore surgical scrubs, his gaze as cold as ice, but his hands were terrifyingly steady.

He was performing a delicate surgical procedure.

Tweezers, scissors, and suturing needles flew in his hands, treating Ah Fu's injuries with speed and precision.

Stopping the bleeding, fixing the broken bones, and suturing the torn flesh wounds.

Thanks to his Mastery of Surgery ability, Lu Fan was like a highly efficient machine.

Once the external trauma was handled, the data displayed on his multifunctional glasses gradually stabilized; Ah Fu was temporarily out of critical danger.

But those destroyed eyes remained an abyss of despair.

Lu Fan took a deep breath, expressed his gratitude to the assisting medical staff, and then asked all non-essential personnel to leave.

After locking the doors and windows, he walked to the equipment table and took a futuristic silver metal box from his storage space.

The box slid open silently, revealing two crystalline spheres floating in a soft glow—[Primary Bionic Combat Eyeballs].

They emitted a faint blue light, their internal structures incredibly precise, clearly not products of this era.

Ever since he received this reward, he never thought there would be a day he'd use it.

Because its advanced technology would attract unpredictable consequences.

But today, that concern was completely non-existent.

Ah Fu had suffered this catastrophe because of him, not to mention the boy was only in his teens.

You gave me a drop of kindness, and I must repay you with a gushing spring!

Under the guidance of the multifunctional glasses, Lu Fan placed the bionic eyeballs above Ah Fu's closed, swollen eyelids.

An incredible scene unfolded.

The two floating bionic eyeballs, as if pulled by an invisible force field, slowly drifted toward Ah Fu's eye sockets.

They didn't require any surgical incision or implantation procedure.

Instead, like water droplets merging into a sponge, they silently and perfectly integrated into Ah Fu's damaged orbital structure.

The flowing light on the surface instantly established a mysterious connection with Ah Fu's own biological tissue.

Lu Fan monitored through his multifunctional glasses that the entire process was quiet and rapid, with no bleeding or suturing.

It completely exceeded any existing medical knowledge.

A few hours later, Ah Fu woke up in the recovery room.

The intense pain and the sense of eternal darkness instantly overwhelmed him, and he whimpered in terror: "Dark... it's so dark... Mr. Lu... I'm blind..."

"Ah Fu, don't be afraid." Lu Fan's voice was steady and powerful. "Try... opening your eyes, take it slow."

Trembling, Ah Fu used all his strength to painstakingly pry open his swollen, aching eyelids.

The expected darkness did not arrive!

In its place was a clear vision with a slight electronic texture!

He saw Lu Fan's concerned face, the snow-white ceiling, and even his own bandaged arms!

At the edge of his vision, light green data streams scrolled silently: vital signs, environmental parameters... a clear yet unconventional image was presented, even showing the thermal imaging outlines of the nurses in the hallway!

"I... I can see?!"

Ah Fu's voice was sharp with extreme shock; he looked at his hands in disbelief and then jerked his head to look around.

The 360-degree panoramic view made him dizzy: "This... what is this? What's happened to me?"

"Your old eyes were too badly injured to be restored," Lu Fan explained calmly. "These are new 'eyes.'"

"They will allow you to see further and clearer; even in the dark, it will be like day. They can also... give you some special help."

"You just need to take time to adapt to their power."

The massive shock and the impact of regained light hit Ah Fu; his whole body trembled as tears surged out.

But this time, they were tears of shock, ecstasy, and rebirth.

"Thank you~~ thank you Boss Lu~~ I, Ah Fu, will follow you for the rest of my life. I'll go through fire and water for you without hesitation."

What he didn't know was that this very sentence would lead him to shine brilliantly in the near future.

These eyes that transcended the era did more than dispel the darkness; they opened a door to unknown power for him.

"If you want to repay me, then close your eyes and rest well. Once your body is healed, I'll be waiting for you to serve me."

Lu Fan comforted Ah Fu with a gentle and magnetic voice.

Then, for safety's sake, he wrapped gauze around Ah Fu's eyes and gave a solemn instruction.

"Ah Fu, you mustn't tell anyone in the hospital about your vision being restored."

"Understood~~ I won't cause any trouble for you."

At his young age, Ah Fu's words sounded exceptionally mature and seasoned.

"Sleep peacefully, everything will get better!"

Lu Fan comforted him and injected a dose of Diazepam into the IV drip; soon, Ah Fu fell into a deep sleep under the effect of the drug.

Lu Fan walked out of the operating room with heavy steps, his face full of exhaustion.

Just as he took off his blood-stained surgical gown, Reister hurried over.

"Lu~~" Reister patted Lu Fan's shoulder familiarly, "My God! That surgery just now... it was simply art!"

"That kid was injured like that, yet you actually managed to save him. It's unbelievable!"

His face was full of excitement; he had been observing the whole time, and Lu Fan's surgical technique had genuinely stunned him.

"Alright, Old Lei, stop flattering me. I was just forced into it; it was just good luck plus practice makes perfect."

Lu Fan washed his face and rubbed his brow, his tone carrying the casualness of a friend and a hint of subtle humility.

"Luck?" Reister's eyes widened, and his voice unconsciously rose. "You call that luck? Who are you kidding?"

"Your speed and accuracy in handling internal bleeding, your technique for fixing fractures, and that suturing... it was simply art."

"Your surgical technique is practically textbook perfection."

"Your 'practice makes perfect' is way too terrifying!"

His tone held sincere admiration, mixed with the teasing of an old friend.

Lu Fan smiled and didn't follow up on the medical talk, instead changing the subject: "Ah Fu's condition is temporarily stable."

"For the subsequent recovery, I'll have to trouble your research institute to take care of it."

"That goes without saying, leave it to me," Reister immediately promised.

He then couldn't help but sigh, lowering his voice, "Seriously, Lu, you've hidden your skills too well."

"You amaze me every time. Alright, go and get some rest, you're exhausted."

He saw Lu Fan's fatigue and stopped questioning him.

Lu Fan nodded: "Alright, thanks Old Lei. Call me if anything happens."

He waved his hand and turned to leave.

Back in his lounge, he quickly washed up; his first thought was to take a nap.

Even with the support of system skills and the assistance of multifunctional glasses,

the lengthy surgery was simply too draining on his energy.

"Knock... knock-knock."

A knock sounded, one light followed by two heavy ones.

Lu Fan, who had just lain down, struggled to get up: "Who is it?"
