158: Chapter 158 Blind Box Packaging Array
Hanging up the phone, the panic on Lin Fan's face vanished instantly, replaced by a cold, cruel smile.
"The fish has taken the bait."
He straightened his collar, stowed all his array discs and trump cards into his system space, and strode out of the villa.
The night wind was biting, making the hem of his clothes snap and whistle.
This journey was not a moth flying into a flame.
It was setting the entire camp ablaze.
The back mountain forbidden area of Tianjiao Camp was a black zone that had been erased even from the maps.
It was shrouded in thick mist year-round, surrounded by high-voltage power grids and identification barriers known only to high-ranking military officials; even a fly entering would be instantly sliced into an atomic state by lasers.
Lin Fan rode in a special vehicle dispatched by Vice Minister Wei, passing through layers of checkpoints without hindrance before finally stopping in front of a massive karst cave entrance.
As soon as he stepped out of the car, a bone-chilling wind howled out from the cave, carrying a nauseating stench of blood and sulfur; it didn't seem like a holy land for cultivation at all, but rather like the throat of hell.
"Student Lin Fan, please."
The guide was an expressionless man in black robes, his voice raspy and low, his entire body wrapped in a voluminous robe, revealing only a pair of eyes shimmering with an eerie green light.
Lin Fan activated his Eye of True Sight and took a glance, sneering inwardly.
[Race: Abyssal Fallen (Half-Demonized)]
[Realm: First-tier Grandmaster]
As expected, this place had long since become a stronghold for Abyssal cultists.
Lin Fan pretended to notice nothing, tightened his coat, and followed the black-robed man into the cave with a nervous expression.
The space inside the cave was surprisingly vast, with glowing fluorite embedded in the surrounding rock walls, illuminating the entire area like a ghostly realm.
As they went deeper, the smell of blood grew stronger, and strange dark-red patterns began to appear on the ground, like ancient blood vessels slowly writhing.
Finally, they reached the deepest part of the cave.
The view suddenly opened up, and a massive circular altar appeared in their sight.
It was not the legendary Dragon Blood Pool, which was supposed to be magnificent and overflowing with spiritual energy.
Instead, it was an evil altar built entirely of obsidian, with twelve massive stone pillars standing around it, each carved with hideous demon totems.
In the center of the altar, there was no water, but a blood-colored energy vortex over ten meters in diameter, slowly rotating and emitting a "thump-thump" sound like a beating heart.
With every beat, the surrounding space would tremble, as if something terrifying was trying to crawl out from the other end of the vortex.
Standing above the altar was Vice Minister Wei, with his hands behind his back.
At this moment, he was no longer wearing his crisp military uniform but had changed into a black robe embroidered with dark gold patterns; the amiable-looking glasses on his face had been removed, revealing eyes filled with greed and fanaticism.
Behind him stood a dozen cultists with cold auras, also dressed in black robes, staring at the incoming Lin Fan as if they were looking at a dead man.
"Wei... Minister Wei?"
Lin Fan stopped in his tracks, his face showing the perfect amount of shock and disbelief, his voice trembling slightly.
"Where is this? Where is the Dragon Blood Pool?"
"This doesn't... look like a place for cultivation."
Vice Minister Wei looked down at Lin Fan like a little rabbit that had fallen into a trap, a cruel arc curling at the corners of his mouth.
"Dragon Blood Pool?"
"Hehe, Xiao Fan, you are still too young."
"This is the Dragon Blood Pool, but it belongs to the great Abyssal Dragon God."
"As for cultivation..."
Vice Minister Wei slowly spread his arms, as if embracing the entire cave.
"Of course it's cultivation, but not for you. You are to be the perfect vessel to help my Lord descend into this world."
"Lin Fan, your talent, your physical body, and even your soul are the sacrifices my Lord desires most."
"This is your honor, the highest glory you can achieve in your lifetime."
The trap was finally sprung.
No more disguises were necessary.
As Vice Minister Wei's voice fell, the twelve stone pillars surrounding the altar suddenly lit up with a blinding blood-red light.
Blood-colored chains reached out from the void, instantly sealing off all of Lin Fan's paths of retreat.
That terrifying pressure was enough to make any ordinary Grandmaster kneel on the spot.
However.
At the center of the storm, the terrified expression on Lin Fan's face vanished cleanly in an instant, as if wiped away by an eraser.
He slowly raised his head, his previously trembling body becoming as upright as a pine tree.
He reached out and gently flicked a non-existent speck of dust from his sleeve, then gave the fanatical Vice Minister Wei a brilliantly radiant smile.
"Well said."
"Truly a wonderful performance."
Lin Fan clapped his hands as he walked toward the altar, treating the blood-colored chains that could strangle a Grandmaster as if they were nothing.
"However, Minister Wei, you were wrong about one thing."
"What?"
Vice Minister Wei was stunned; Lin Fan's abnormal composure caused an ominous premonition to suddenly rise in his heart.
"This isn't my honor."
Lin Fan stopped at the edge of the altar, just one step away from the blood-colored vortex.
He turned around, his back to the abyss entrance that could swallow everything, facing Vice Minister Wei and the dumbfounded cultists.
In his golden pupils, a fire named "ambition" was burning.
"Isn't it a bit impolite to hold a banquet on a guest's territory?"
"Besides, you haven't even asked me, the host, if I agree."
Before his voice even finished echoing.
Lin Fan suddenly snapped his fingers.
"Snap!"
The crisp sound echoed through the hollow cave.
The next second.
A sudden change occurred.
On the originally dark and damp floor, the moss-covered walls, and even the high ceiling, countless golden array patterns previously drawn with invisible ink lit up simultaneously.
Boom!
Ten thousand beams of golden light.
A sacred, grand golden light filled with a commercial aura instantly overwhelmed the original blood-red color of the altar.
Under the washing of the golden light, the twelve stone pillars representing the power of the abyss actually began to crack inch by inch; the demon totems on them let out shrill screams and dissipated into clouds of black smoke.
"This... what is this?!"
Vice Minister Wei screamed in terror; he found that he had actually lost control over the altar, and even the Abyssal power within his body was being suppressed so hard by this golden light that he couldn't mobilize a single bit of it.
At this moment, the entire underground cave seemed to have transformed into a massive golden cage.
Or rather, a giant... box.
Lin Fan stood at the center of the golden light, spreading his arms; the blood-colored vortex behind him actually appeared to be trembling slightly under the reflection of the golden light.
"Can't you tell yet?"
"I've already transformed this place into a giant Blind Box Encapsulation Array."
"All the energy, all the rules, even including you all..."
Lin Fan pointed at Vice Minister Wei, then at the blood-colored vortex.
"Right now, you are all my raw materials."
"Welcome to..."
