175: Chapter 175 What We Want is Battle-Damaged Wind

The truck slowly drove through the steel gates of the restricted zone.

What came into view was not the neatly organized warehouse one might imagine, but a graveyard of steel that stretched as far as the eye could see.

The mountains of materials piled here were not "scrap materials" in the ordinary sense.

To the left was a metal mountain formed from the wreckage of over a dozen scrapped "Crimson Typhoon" mechas. The severed mechanical arms were thicker than the truck itself, still stained with dried black blood from exotic beasts.

To the right were various twisted and deformed battleship armor plates, Alloy Battle Sabers snapped in two, and even half of a blown-apart particle turret.

The scions in the truck bed poked their heads out one by one, watching this shocking scene with mouths wide enough to fit an egg.

The sports cars and yachts they usually played with were like plastic toys compared to these true behemoths of war.

"Screech."

The truck stopped in front of a giant warehouse numbered S-9.

An old man wearing grey overalls and a single-eyed eyepatch walked over slowly, holding an electronic logbook.

His remaining eye was cloudy yet sharp as he scanned the group of fashionably dressed but dust-covered youths, finally letting his gaze rest on Lin Fan.

"Consultant Lin?"

The veteran glanced at the terminal in his hand, which displayed the highest level of red clearance. Although he had been notified in advance, he was still somewhat surprised to see that the person in question was a young man not even twenty years old.

"It's me." Lin Fan jumped off the truck and handed over the black-gold card.

The veteran took the card and swiped it. After confirming everything was correct, he pointed to the warehouse behind him. "You should know the rules here. Sector S-9 stores scrap items below S-rank. Although the raw material foundation is good—mostly Titanium or depleted uranium alloys—they've been soaked in the Ten Thousand Races Battlefield for a long time and eroded by Abyss energy. Their internal structures are already damaged."

At this point, the veteran kindly added a reminder: "These things are hard to recycle. The cost of smelting them is higher than buying new ones, and they carry radiation and malevolent energy. What do you want these for?"

Hearing the word 'radiation', the faces of Zhao Wujing and the others in the truck bed instantly turned green. They instinctively covered their noses and mouths, wishing they could jump off and run away immediately.

Lin Fan, however, acted as if he hadn't heard a thing, his eyes shining as he looked at the pile of scrap metal.

"For renovations, this is exactly the vibe I'm looking for."

Lin Fan smiled and waved his hand, pointing at the hideous wreckage around them. "Young people nowadays love this battle-damaged style. I like these scraps; they're tough enough, they've got kick."

The veteran's mouth twitched.

battle-damaged style?

Using scrap metal stained with beast blood and Abyss energy for renovation? This young man's taste... was truly unique.

"Fine, since you have the clearance, feel free to take whatever you want." The veteran shook his head, offering no further advice. "But let me give you fair warning: there's no lifting equipment here. It's all manual labor."

"No problem, I have plenty of labor."

Lin Fan turned around and waved his hand grandly toward the shivering scions in the truck bed, revealing a smile like a greedy landlord.

"Did you all hear that? Get off the truck and get to work!"

The scions looked at the scrap metal, which easily weighed several tons, and their faces turned green. They dawdled as they jumped off the truck, their expressions heavier than if they were attending a funeral.

Zhao Wujing was also in a difficult position now.

Looking at the metal fragments scattered everywhere, he thought that since it was all scrap metal anyway, he'd just pick a lighter piece to get it over with.

His gaze quickly locked onto a black metal plate only about the size of a washbasin. This thing looked unremarkable—a thin layer that shouldn't be very heavy.

"You'll do."

Zhao Wujing rolled up his sleeves, walked over, bent down, and reached out to grab it with a relaxed look.

"Up!"

He exerted a sudden burst of force.

It didn't budge an inch.

"Huh?" Zhao Wujing was stunned. Was this scrap plate welded to the ground?

Refusing to believe it, he took a deep breath, circulated the meager blood-qi power in his body, gripped the edges of the metal plate with both hands, and shouted again, his face turning beet red.

"Get up for me!"

Crack!

A crisp sound of bone popping rang out.

The metal plate remained as steady as Mount Tai, but Zhao Wujing's waist let out a cry of agony. He nearly fell to his knees from the terrifying reactionary force.

"Ouch! My waist! It's broken, it's broken!"

Zhao Wujing clutched his lower back, grimacing in pain as tears welled up. "What the hell is this thing? It looks so small, how can it be heavier than a steamroller!"

"That's a fragment of depleted uranium armor, a high-density alloy."

Lin Fan strolled over with his hands behind his back, looking at him like he was an idiot. "Its density is 2.5 times that of steel. This small piece weighs at least five hundred kilograms. Young Master Zhao, you're quite weak. You should spend less time at nightclubs."

"Pfft..."

A few scions nearby couldn't help but laugh, but seeing Zhao Wujing's murderous glare, they quickly stifled it.

"Alright, stop making a fool of yourself."

Lin Fan ignored Zhao Wujing, his eyes narrowing slightly as a faint golden light flashed deep in his pupils.

Eye of True Sight, activate!

In an instant, the chaotic ruins before him changed.

To others, this was a mountain of scrap metal filled with trash, but in Lin Fan's eyes, it was an untapped gold mine!

Countless streams of data surfaced above the items.

[Damaged Titan Mecha Exoskeleton: S-rank Titanium alloy material, structural damage 40%, Abyss erosion 15%. Evaluation: Excellent material for load-bearing pillars.]

[Severed Ship-Slaying Blade: Infused with SS-rank deep sea sinking silver, sharpness retained at 30%. Evaluation: Suitable for anti-theft railings.]

[Scrapped Particle Collider Barrel: A+ rank high-temperature resistant ceramic alloy. Evaluation: Perfect material for sewer pipes.]

The reason these materials were judged as scrap was because their internal spiritual energy circuits were broken, making them unusable as weapons, and recycling them was extremely difficult.

But Lin Fan didn't need to go through all that trouble. He could just toss them to the system to be refined, and all negative energy would be purified.

"Hey you, the one in the red clothes, stop slacking off!"

Lin Fan pointed at a scion in the distance who was about to pick up a rusty iron pipe and commanded loudly, "Throw that trash away! Go move the one on the left! Yes, that large iron plate with three claw marks on the surface!"

The scion was bewildered but complied, calling over two others. They used every ounce of strength they had to haul out the massive metal plate.

It was a giant metal plate three meters wide and five meters long, with a dull silver-grey color. The three claw marks on the surface, several inches deep, were horrifying, as if they had been torn open by some terrifying giant beast.

"Consultant Lin, this thing looks like it has heavy radiation. Why are we moving it back?" the scion asked, panting.

Lin Fan stepped forward and tapped the metal plate, producing a dull "clang clang" sound.

"This is good stuff."

Lin Fan nodded with satisfaction. "This is the outer hull armor of a battleship, made of S-rank Titanium. Its physical defense is amazing; even missiles can't blow through it."

As he spoke, he patted the cold armor surface and made a shocking statement:

"Load it onto the truck. We're taking it back to use as flooring."

Silence.

A deathly silence.

Every scion present, including the one-eyed veteran who had been watching the show, was dumbfounded.

Their eyes widened as if they were hearing some unbelievable fairy tale.
