120: Zerg Queen, Angela's team rebelled

Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi exchanged a glance, both preparing to accept the mission and obtain the reward.

The two spoke up first.

"We accept the mission."

A look of relief appeared on the One-Eyed Captain's face; he was well aware of Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi's strength.

Their performance during the gladiatorial tournament that day was known to everyone on the Starship.

"Thank you both! With your generosity, we will surely be able to overcome this crisis! I guarantee that once we wait for the rescue team, the Interstellar Alliance will definitely not treat you two unfairly."

Subsequently, some members of the Alliance Squad, as well as a few players and Starship passengers with the ability to protect themselves, also successively accepted the optional mission.

"Count me in."

"I can also help out a bit."

In such a desperate situation, huddling together for warmth was the only way to survive.

The One-Eyed Captain directed his subordinates from his captain's escape pod to bring out several mountain off-road vehicles that were covered in dust but still had functional engines.

"These are vehicles used by the Starship's ground crew for planetary surface operations; they should barely hold up."

The captain patted the hood of one of the jeeps, "I have already entered the coordinates of the abandoned human base into the navigation System. However, the journey is long, and we know nothing about the terrain of this planet. You might encounter attacks from the Zerg along the way, so you must be careful."

"If you can find the base, there should still be some compressed food in the warehouse."

"As for water, if you can collect river water, that will do; the escape pod has a wastewater purifier."

Lin Fei smiled.

"As for water, there's no need for that much trouble."

As he spoke, he raised his hand, and intense cold air surged from his palm, quickly spreading in all directions and extending toward the sky.

Subsequently, fist-sized ice crystals fell down.

This was him condensing the water vapor in the air into icy gravel.

Soon, a significant amount of crushed ice had fallen to the ground.

The One-Eyed Captain's single eye brightened; with this ice, they could just purify it and it would be ready to drink.

Moreover, Lin Fei's methods could continuously condense the water vapor in the air to create ice crystals.

Food and water—two major problems, and one had been solved immediately.

"That's great, Mr. Lin, you really are a Genius! You've directly solved a huge problem for the fleet."

On-site, there were probably still a few hundred survivors.

Lin Fei asked, "How much food is left, and how long can it last?"

"Two days at most."

"Then there is no time to delay; I will take people out first."

"Alright! Mr. Lin, you must be careful," the captain cautioned.

Those passengers and the security team also looked at Lin Fei and his group with immense respect.

"Mr. Lin, let me go with you. I am a mechanic; driving, repairs, and System hacking are all my strong suits."

"I'll go too. I can summon shikigami; if we can find food, I can help carry more."

"Alright, then the four of us will set out."

"Let's go."

The four of them boarded one of the jeeps together.

Zhao Zicong immediately released four fist-sized drones.

Those things could conduct thermal reconnaissance in the complex Gobi terrain, allowing them to avoid danger in advance.

The rugged mountain jeep bumped along the Gobi desert, heading towards the abandoned base over a hundred kilometers away; soon, a cloud of yellow sand rose from the rear of the vehicle.

...

At the same time, in another area over a hundred kilometers away from the Starship crash site.

This place was permeated with a thick, fishy, and putrid stench, filled with twisted, bizarre Zerg nests and creep.

Several escape pods from the Angela Conglomerate and the Blackwater Group had, unfortunately, crashed directly into the depths of this Zerg territory.

The escape pods had just smashed open their deformed hatches.

"Ah—!!!" Several shrill screams shattered the dead silence.

Several players who reacted a bit slowly were dragged directly under the creep by multi-legged insect monsters resembling centipedes that burrowed out from underground.

Immediately after, a hair-raising sound of writhing and bones breaking came from beneath the creep.

"Damn it! We're so unlucky; we crashed into a Zerg nest!"

"What do we do? I don't want to die here."

"Break out!"

"But which direction should we run in?"

Hiss! More swarms of insects surged over.

Mordi, Alan, and the others immediately raised their guns to fight back; they were well-equipped and managed to repel the first wave of sneak-attacking insect monsters.

But they quickly fell into despair. This was a Zerg nest, and the number of those insects was almost astronomical.

From all directions, dense swarms of insect shadows were pouring out of various nests, surrounding them completely.

These insect monsters were varied in form; some were like giant spiders with green viscous liquid dripping from their mouthparts, while others were Zerg vanguards, resembling mantises magnified hundreds of times, with twin arms that were blades flickering with cold light.

"Damn it! How did we crash into this godforsaken place!" Mordi's face turned pale; he slashed wildly with the high-frequency blade in his hand, but facing the endless tide of insects, it was merely a drop in the bucket.

Alan and his Blackwater Group subordinates were constantly releasing poison mist and curses, attempting to block the insects' advance. But their mana was depleting even faster.

Squelch! An Angela Conglomerate player, not paying attention for a second, had his chest pierced through by a flying insect monster that descended from the sky, blood spraying wildly.

"Save me!" He was quickly dragged away, his cries for help gradually fading.

The battle lasted only ten minutes, and these conglomerate players, who usually acted high and mighty, suffered heavy casualties.

Only a few people, including Mordi and Alan, remained, still struggling to hold on.

Suddenly, a terrifying mental pressure, heavy as a mountain and carrying an aura of endless majesty and tyranny, descended abruptly!

All the insect monsters that were attacking frantically froze in unison, as if a pause button had been pressed, and then, like a receding tide, they respectfully retreated to both sides.

Revealing a huge, hideous throne constructed of flesh and carapace behind them.

Sitting atop the throne was a creature of immense size, resembling a humanoid spider, yet its upper body was that of a bewitchingly charming, stunning woman!

She had long, smooth, dark purple hair, and her exquisitely beautiful facial features carried a hint of a charming smile.

Her face was engraved with some strange patterns.

【Queen of the Zerg (Abyssal Lord-level Mutant)】

【Rank: Lv49】

【Skills: Mind Control, Gene Theft, Swarm Summoning, Void Realm Walk, ???】

"Tsk, tsk, tsk? To think there are still a few little bugs that haven't been torn to shreds by my children."

The Queen of the Zerg leaned lazily on the throne, her scarlet compound eyes sweeping over the few remaining survivors, including Mordi and Alan, her tone carrying a hint of playfulness.

Her voice resonated directly in everyone's minds, filled with an irresistible charm and majesty.

Under this terrifying mental pressure, Mordi, Alan, and the others felt their Souls trembling, unable to even muster the thought of resistance.

Alan still wanted to struggle, attempting to detonate the poisonous bomb he carried to perish together with the Queen of the Zerg.

But the Queen of the Zerg just lightly raised her jade hand.

Alan was then gripped as if by an invisible, immense force; his body floated up uncontrollably, and no matter how he struggled, he could not move an inch.

"Tsk, tsk, what a naughty little bug."

The Queen of the Zerg extended her scarlet tongue tip and licked her lips.

"Your bodies are quite impressive; if converted into my children, you would surely become powerful Zerg vanguards."

Just then, Mordi suddenly fell to his knees with a thud, begging with a trembling voice, "Your Majesty! We know where there are stronger, more perfect incubation hosts! Please spare us, we are willing to lead the way for you!"

In order to survive, he chose to become a traitor without hesitation.

"We are from a crashed Starship; I know the location of the others, at least a few hundred people, and among them are two top-tier transcendents!"

"Oh?" The Queen of the Zerg seemed interested upon hearing this. With a wave of her jade hand, she tossed Alan aside like trash, leaving him dazed and battered.

Her pitch-black eyes looked at the kneeling Mordi with great interest, "Stronger, more perfect hosts? Tell me, if the information you provide satisfies me, perhaps I will consider letting you become my loyal servants."

Mordi was overjoyed and hurriedly kowtowed like a pestle pounding garlic, "Yes! Just before the Starship crashed, we were on the same Starship as those people! That person must still be alive too. His strength is truly terrifying! He is practically a humanoid fighting machine! If he could become Your Majesty's incubation host, he would surely be able to nurture the most powerful Zerg war beast!"

The person he was talking about was, naturally, Lin Fei.

After witnessing Lin Fei's heaven-destroying and earth-shattering strength, Mordi's heart had long been filled with jealousy and fear.

Now, in order to survive, he unhesitatingly treated Lin Fei as his lifeline, wanting to divert the disaster onto him.

The Queen of the Zerg heard this, a lazy smile appearing on her face; she didn't seem to fully believe Mordi's rhetoric, "A humanoid fighting machine? Sounds like a decent toy. But words alone are not proof."

She extended her slender finger, with a sharp black tip, and gently pierced it toward the center of Mordi's forehead.

"Let me see, just how strong is that person in your memory?"

Hum—! Mordi felt a sharp pain in his head, as if countless steel needles had been driven in, and the scenes of Lin Fei's heaven-destroying and earth-shattering battle in the gladiatorial arena surged like a tide into the Queen of the Zerg's consciousness.

Those ten roaring thunder Dragons, that frost storm sweeping through everything, that terrifying strength capable of slaughtering hundreds of elite insect beasts with a mere gesture.

The lazy smile on the Queen of the Zerg's face instantly froze, replaced by a strong sense of admiration and greed.

"Lightning, frost. To actually be able to control two such powerful elemental forces simultaneously! And, that woman, she is actually a Necromancer who can summon Dragons and golems."

She cracked a grin, her expression twisted and crazy.

"Perfect! Truly too perfect! Such power, such a Soul, if it could be converted into my child... hee hee hee... I will completely dominate this planet, and might even be able to hatch super Zerg beasts capable of flying to other planets!"

The Queen of the Zerg let out a hair-raising giggle, extending her scarlet tongue tip to lick her lips.

Her eyes were filled with desire for Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi.

"Little thing, I am very satisfied with the information you provided this time." She looked down at the shivering Mordi, her tone carrying a hint of approval, "You are safe for now."
