87: Each has its own plan
Exactly nine o'clock in the evening.
It was as if an invisible giant hand had violently pressed the war's activation button over New Jeju!
Boom—!!!
Fifteen kilometers east of the urban edge of New Jeju, in the direction of the Blue Flag Country's largest armory, a huge explosion mushroom cloud rose!
The scorching fire instantly dyed half the night sky red, and the violent explosion's shockwave, carrying shattered rocks and air currents, spread out!
“Well done! Demolitions team!”
Silver Fox exclaimed excitedly.
Almost at the same time!
Dada dada dada!
Boom!
The Blue Flag Country's armored troop assembly point south of the city, the communication command center west of the city, the temporary military prison north of the city…
Throughout New Jeju, all Blue Flag Country military strongholds and important facilities marked on the action map came under fierce attack from the Thousand Wings Guild and tens of thousands of responding players!
The sounds of various firearms and energy explosions.
Instantly reverberated throughout the entire city!
The long-simmering rage finally erupted completely at this moment, turning into a prairie fire that swept through the city shrouded in gloom.
War broke out everywhere! Smoke signals rose from all directions!
This time, the invaders of the Blue Flag Country would be struck down in one fell swoop.
…
On the top floor of the Municipal Building, in the luxurious and spacious presidential suite.
Outside the bulletproof floor-to-ceiling windows, the soaring flames and explosion flashes in the distance were reflected.
Lee Seung-ki’s hand, holding a stemmed glass, trembled uncontrollably, and the crimson wine spilled onto the expensive carpet, leaving several small stains.
“What’s going on?! What’s happening outside?!” His fat face was filled with terror, and his voice had changed pitch. “Is it an earthquake? Or have those rioting players come out again?!”
“Your Excellency, please calm down.”
Sitting on the sofa opposite him was General Apache, tall and stern-faced, dressed in a sharp Blue Flag Country general’s uniform.
He was leisurely swirling the whiskey in his glass, a playful smile on his face.
“It’s not an earthquake, nor are they rioters.” His gaze turned to the chaotic scene outside the window, a flicker of imperceptible excitement in his eyes. “The main players have arrived. Free Wings and their lackeys, Thousand Wings, these fellows finally couldn’t resist jumping out.”
An adjutant in a Luo Country military officer’s uniform rushed in from outside the door, reporting with a pale face: “Reporting to Your Excellency the President! Your Excellency the General! This is bad!”
“The armory east of the city has been blown up! The armored camp south of the city, the communication center west of the city, and the prison north of the city are all simultaneously under large-scale attack!
The enemy’s firepower is very fierce. Besides a large number of local players, there are also some experts mixed in, suspected to be the main force from Free Wings!”
“A large number of armed individuals have also appeared around the Municipal Building and are assaulting the first blockade line!”
Upon hearing this, Lee Seung-ki almost slid off the sofa, and the wine glass in his hand fell to the ground with a clang, shattering into pieces.
“Attack?! Main force?!” he cried out, cold sweat instantly soaking his expensive silk shirt.
“Your Excellency the General!
What should we do?!
Will they break in?!”
The thought that he had ordered the army to brutally suppress the populace today made him fear that if those people broke in, they would surely devour him alive!
He was merely a puppet president supported by the Blue Flag Country, almost adept at nothing more than being an obedient dog.
Such a person naturally lacked the strong composure to remain unfazed when a mountain collapsed before him.
As he spoke, he looked around in terror, as if an assassin might burst through the window at any second.
General Apache put down his wine glass, a faint hint of mockery on his face.
“Why are you panicking?” He glanced at Lee Seung-ki, who was like a startled bird, and snorted.
“They are just a rabble. So what if the main force of Free Wings has arrived?
It saves us the trouble of finding them one by one.”
He stood up, walked to the large floor-to-ceiling window, and admired the chaotic night view outside, his voice cold and confident:
“Lee Seung-ki, did you think I was truly just here to drink with you?”
“Wasn’t that so-called ‘Masked Emperor’ causing a lot of trouble before?
Assassinating guild leaders, disguising himself to cause destruction, and even killing several of our officers.”
A sharp glint flashed in Apache’s eyes. “Now, he will definitely come here. Does he think we’ll be as unprepared as before?”
“This time, I’ve set up an inescapable net, precisely to lure him out!”
Apache’s voice carried the arrogance of someone in complete control. “And those Free Wings members who don’t know their place!
They think they can catch us off guard?
Hmph! Utterly foolish!”
“I have already dispatched the empire’s Shadow Hunters, and several powerful internal testers!”
Apache suddenly turned, his gaze fixed intently on Lee Seung-ki. “Each of them possesses terrifying strength far exceeding that of ordinary players!
They are specifically for dealing with troublesome flies like Free Wings!”
“Our true objective, from the very beginning, was not to blockade the Node Tower or suppress those foolish civilians!”
Apache’s lips curved into a cruel arc. “Instead, it was to turn their own scheme against them and set a trap!
To capture that ‘Masked Emperor’ alive!
And to capture as many Free Wings members as possible!”
“These individuals with special abilities are the empire’s most valuable assets!
Bringing them back for thorough research can bring unimaginable value to the empire!”
Lee Seung-ki listened, dumbfounded, the terror on his face gradually replaced by a morbid excitement.
So the generals of the Blue Flag Country had prepared everything long ago!
This riot was actually a fishing expedition?!
To fish for Free Wings and that terrifying Masked Emperor?!
“Your Excellency the General is brilliant!” Lee Seung-ki quickly put on a fawning smile, wiping the cold sweat from his forehead. “With Your Excellency the General here strategizing, those clowns will surely be unable to escape!”
Apache nodded in satisfaction, sat back on the sofa, and ordered his adjutant: “Convey my command!
Have the Seventh Division and the Twelfth Brigade each dispatch half their forces! To clear out the perimeter!”
“What? You’re still sending troops out at a time like this? That’s not good!” Lee Seung-ki said.
“Hmph, if we don’t send people out, how will we lure them in?” Apache said confidently.
“Yes! Your Excellency the General!” The adjutant acknowledged and left.
“Colonel David.” Apache then looked at the Blue Flag Country colonel who had been silently sitting in the corner’s shadow, polishing a uniquely shaped energy pistol.
“Those small fry outside, I’ll leave them to you and your men. Be sure to capture as many alive as possible.”
“Don’t worry, General.” David looked up, revealing a face as hard and chiseled as a knife, his eyes gleaming with bloodlust. “My hounds haven’t stretched their limbs in a long time.”
The 'hounds' he referred to were the Shadow Hunters.
After assigning the tasks, Apache picked up his wine glass again, a confident, hunter-like smile on his face.
The fish were in the net; now it was time to pull it in.
