70: Advanced resource area! Play as soon as you land

“Hiss! 200,000 killing coins per person?!”

Xu Zhengyang gasped when he saw the entry fee. “This ticket is too expensive! And it’s a battle royale mode, where at most only twenty teams can survive?

Losing would be a huge loss!”

“The rewards must also be very generous, especially the skill runestones,” Lin Mengzi said, carefully reading the description. “They can add extra effects to skills, and that’s what we lack most right now.”

Li Shun adjusted his glasses: “It looks like Leigong Island’s terrain is very complex, and there are random lightning strike zones. This not only tests individual strength but also some luck!”

“At least eighty teams need to be eliminated before an evacuation point appears. That’s too cruel,” Zhou Kai exclaimed.

Lin Fei’s face showed no emotion; a 200,000 entry fee was nothing to him, with over ten million killing coins.

And the rule of “only one surviving team” seemed to him the simplest and most direct.

Just kill all the other teams.

Finally, everything returned to its most primitive and purest form.

And for him, this was the most advantageous rule!

As for skill runestones, these were exactly what he needed most at the moment.

They could further enhance the power or functionality of his spells.

“This trial allows a maximum of three people per team,” Lin Fei said, glancing at everyone. “Zheng Yang, join the team.”

Currently, Xu Zhengyang was at the orphanage.

He was the primary combatant after Lin Fei and Lin Mengzi.

“Yes! Boss!” Xu Zhengyang straightened his back, his eyes full of excitement and confidence.

Being able to fight alongside his Boss again, especially in such a brutal battle royale mode, made his blood boil.

Xu Sanduo said: “Then Boss, we’ll go and clear the fifth floor again. We can get more equipment enhancement crystals.”

“Okay.”

Lin Fei knew that the difficulty of the eighth floor trial was extremely high.

If they went in, it would be difficult for them to survive.

Xu Zhengyang’s Gunfire Master profession could provide powerful fire support at long, medium, and close ranges, and had a certain burst power, making it very suitable for this fast-paced, high-intensity melee mode.

“You all also be careful and try to get more resources,” Lin Fei instructed again.

“Don’t worry, Boss!”

“Boss, you all be careful too!”

Everyone responded in unison.

After giving instructions, Lin Fei, Lin Mengzi, and Xu Zhengyang wasted no time.

They walked directly to the entrance elevator for the “Eternal Calamity War.”

After each paying 200,000 killing coins, a dazzling white light engulfed the three of them.

【Team ‘Mount Buzhou Squad’ (3 people) has joined the matching queue. Estimated start time: 30 minutes 30 seconds.】

Inside the waiting area, many powerful three-person teams had already gathered, maintaining a wary distance from each other and eyeing one another with unfriendly gazes.

Clearly, teams that could afford a 600,000 killing coins entry fee were not to be trifled with.

This time, there were no more large brutes who, upon seeing Lin Mengzi’s beauty, would come over and chatter idly to tease her, thinking only with their lower heads.

Everyone was cautiously observing other teams, but Lin Fei noticed that this time there were still some teams in identical attire, a dozen or so people, who had entered here.

Their clothing resembled the nano-suits from ‘Crysis.’

The exterior was layers of black artificial muscle fibers, full of power and highly flexible.

They wore goggles on their heads.

On their chests was printed an angel, plus a symbol of two small white wings.

“Boss, those people are the direct armed forces of the Angela Conglomerate.”

“Unlike world-class security companies like Blackwater Group, they are only responsible for protecting the safety of Angela Conglomerate’s high-ranking officials.”

“Their nano-suits can greatly enhance basic attributes, and they can also regenerate. They can even absorb bent light waves through surface crystallization to achieve optical camouflage and conceal themselves.”

“When I was in a security company, I once carried out a mission with them, and at that time, I thought it was alien technology!”

“Thinking about it now, the Angela Conglomerate must have had early contact with the Node Tower and obtained cutting-edge technology from it.”

Lin Fei: “That should be the case.”

The private guards under the conglomerate were indeed wealthy.

Those people were all well-equipped, and the weapons in everyone’s hands had enchanted coatings.

Enchanted coatings were not only for firearms; even ordinary swords and weapons could be coated.

In addition, there was also a group of mage-system players wearing cloaks, quite numerous, a total of four teams of twelve people.

However, the most eye-catching on the field were a group of Qigong Masters from the Eastern Dragon Country, with mysterious tattoos etched on their skin and faint glows surrounding them.

There were six people in total, both male and female, dressed in uniform Tai Chi attire.

Each was full of vigor and had restrained inner radiance.

“Those people are from the Zhenwu Guild of Dragon Country, right!”

“It’s really unlucky to be matched with them.”

“What are you afraid of? Everyone here has fought their way into the eighth floor. Why don’t you ask them if they fear us?” a quick-draw gunman dressed as a cowboy retorted to his companion.

“Don’t be too nervous. These people are probably ordinary members of Zhenwu. If they were elite disciples, they should be wearing those dark blue cross-collared Taoist robes!” a man in a suit said, pushing up his glasses.

As everyone was discussing.

The countdown ended, and suddenly, a voice, accompanied by text on the virtual light screen, appeared before everyone.

【When the Candle Dragon opens its eyes, it is day; when it closes them, it is night.

The alternation of day and night is the most common cycle, and also the most common reincarnation.

Legend has it that Leigong Island, in mythology, was created by the Candle Dragon as a paradise to please itself.

It enjoyed watching living beings fight, so every time it opened its eyes, it would summon living beings to battle here for its amusement.

Almost every time day and night alternated, tens of thousands of powerful living beings were permanently buried here.

Over tens of millions of years, Leigong Island has buried countless skeletons and accumulated immeasurable treasures.

Now!

Due to unknown factors.

An island, strikingly similar to the mythical Leigong Island, suddenly opened!

And three hundred teams of living beings have entered here to engage in battle.】

【Welcome to the Eternal Calamity War of Infinite Reincarnation.】

【You have 30 seconds to choose your landing spot.】

Instantly, a 3D map appeared in everyone’s minds.

“Just like PUBG, there’s also a resource level classification?” Xu Zhengyang exclaimed in wonder.

The map vividly displayed the topography of the entire Leigong Island.

The abandoned modern Military Base exuded a chilling, metallic aura.

In the depths of the primeval dense forest, there were faint signs of giant creatures moving.

The highly poisonous swamp was filled with dangerous purple mist.

The island-circling beach seemed safe, but it might hide unknown sea monsters.

And the most eye-catching, without a doubt, was the “Ancient Thunder God Temple” located north of the map’s center, standing amidst the mountains and exuding an ancient, vast aura!

On the map, resource richness was marked with different colors.

The orange color, representing the highest five-level resource zone, conspicuously covered Thunder God Temple, Military Base, and a Stone Forest area in the center of the swamp.

“Boss!

Thunder God Temple, Military Base, and that swamp Stone Forest have the densest red dots!

At least forty teams chose these places as their jump points!” Xu Zhengyang said, pointing to the red dot distribution on the map, his tone somewhat grave.

Each of those red dots represented an enemy team composed of three players!

“Normal, high risk, high reward,” Lin Mengzi analyzed. “Level five resource zones are definitely more likely to produce high-level skill runestones, and perhaps even complete high-level skills.

Everyone wants to seize the initiative.

Moreover, skill runestones can be used directly as long as they meet the conditions.

If we can get a good runestone, the 200,000 killing coins will be recouped.”

She paused, then looked at Lin Fei: “Feifei, where should we choose? Should we play it safe first and develop on the edges, or go straight for the fight?”

“Develop?” Lin Fei’s mouth curved into a confident smile. “Since we’re already here? Let’s go straight to the most lively place!”

His finger pointed directly to one of the areas with the densest red dots on the map—the Ancient Thunder God Temple!

“Right here! Thunder God Temple!”

“Alright!” Xu Zhengyang’s eyes instantly blazed with fighting spirit, and he gripped the firearm in his hand.

Lin Mengzi also smiled helplessly and dotingly; her younger brother was always so domineering and never feared a challenge.

【Select landing spot: Ancient Thunder God Temple.】

【Teleportation initiating!】

Buzz—!

Space distorted again, and a strong pulling sensation came.

The next second, the scene before the three of them changed abruptly!

They found themselves standing at the edge of a dilapidated stone plaza, surrounded by collapsed stone pillars, overturned statues, and ancient walls covered in bullet holes and scorch marks.

Not far away, the outline of a magnificent but crumbling giant temple loomed in the smoke and flying dust.

And around them, as far as the eye could see, were player teams engaged in fierce firefights!

Various skill lights bloomed like fireworks, and bullets with tracers wove into a deadly net of fire in the air.

From time to time, players’ bodies were blown up, entangled by vines, or pierced by energy beams!

Chaos!

This was simply extreme chaos!

Teams that had just arrived here were plunged into the most brutal and bloody melee almost the instant they landed!

“Holy cow! This is too exciting! Fighting right after landing!” Xu Zhengyang shrieked, immediately raising his gun in alert. The Gunfire Master’s professional aura lit up, and he entered combat mode.

Almost at the same moment his voice fell!

Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!

Three energy arrows, shimmering with an eerie green light and carrying a malicious aura of curses, shot towards Lin Fei and his two companions from the top of a half-collapsed stone tower nearby!

Extremely fast, with tricky angles!

“Ambush!” Lin Mengzi cried out, waving her magic staff, and three pale bone shields instantly materialized in front of her!

Puff, puff, puff!

The energy arrows struck the bone shields, bursting into green corrosive smoke. The bone shields’ surfaces sizzled as they corroded, and their glow dimmed slightly.

Before Lin Fei and his team could counterattack, from another direction, a scorching fireball with a long tail of flame whistled and smashed towards them!
