12: Great Battle of the Ancestral Dragon

Yuan Feng let out a cold snort, and the fire snake transformed from the divine phoenix plume swelled against the wind, crashing straight into the dragon's tail.

With a thunderous "boom," the collision of water and fire erupted into a sky full of white mist.

The fire snake was dispersed by a single strike from Zu Long.

However, Zu Long was also bitten by the fire snake, leaving a small wound.

The Nanmingli Fire upon it continued to burn incessantly.

"Is this all you've got?" Yuan Feng spread her wings, and the Nanmingli Fire transformed into countless firebirds that pounced toward Zu Long.

Wherever the firebirds passed, the water vapor around Zu Long was instantly evaporated.

Zu Long's dragon eyes widened in anger, and he opened his mouth to spit out nine streams of Xuan Ming True Water.

This substance, formed from Innate water essence, actually became entangled with the Nanmingli Fire.

Water and fire complemented each other, creating cyclones of interwoven red and blue that soared into the sky.

Zu Long did not stop his movements; his dragon claws tore through space, coming straight for Yuan Feng: "Today, I shall let you witness the majesty of the Dragon Clan!"

Yuan Feng's figure flashed, and her fire whip entangled the dragon claw like a spiritual snake.

The two wrestled in the air, fire and water constantly colliding, erupting in deafening roars.

The cloud layers within a ten-thousand-mile radius were cleared by the impact, revealing a brilliant starry sky.

"Ao Qing, Ao Xuan, seize the banner!" Zu Long suddenly bellowed.

Hearing this, the two white dragons immediately transformed into human forms, bypassing the battlefield to pounce straight toward the valley.

Yuan Feng's expression changed, and just as she was about to intercept them, Zu Long suddenly exerted his strength.

Densely packed Innate Dao patterns emerged on his dragon body, and every dragon scale burst with blinding blue light.

"Your opponent is me!" With a swing of his dragon tail, he whipped up a ten-thousand-foot wall of sea water to trap Yuan Feng.

"Despicable!" Yuan Feng scolded angrily, and the divine phoenix plume in her hand suddenly split into nine, forming a fire net to trap Zu Long.

At the same time, the phoenix mark on her forehead lit up, and a pillar of crimson-gold light soared into the sky, evaporating the sea wall completely.

But with that brief delay, the two white dragons had already closed in on the valley.

In her anxiety, Yuan Feng was about to fully unleash the Nanmingli Fire to forcibly break through Zu Long's restraint.

Right at that moment, a clear sword chime echoed from behind her.

Clang!

A green sword light, like the Heavenly River hanging upside down, slashed Ao Qing down from the clouds and cut off one of his dragon horns.

Wutong arrived treading on air, holding the Qing Wu Sword in one hand and the lidi firelight banner in the other.

The banner fluttered loudly, emitting a heart-palpitating fire-element pressure.

"Wutong!" Yuan Feng shouted in pleasant surprise.

Wutong pointed his sword at the two white dragons, his voice cold: "One more step, and you die."

Ao Xuan roared unwillingly but was forced back by the waves of fire swept out from the banner's surface.

Seeing this, a flash of surprise crossed Zu Long's dragon eyes.

He hadn't expected this seemingly gentle man in green to strike so sharply.

Furthermore, he didn't give him any Face at all, wounding his person the moment he acted.

"Good! Very good!" Zu Long laughed in extreme anger, his dragon body coiling into a formation.

"Today, I shall let you witness the true Divine Ability of the Dragon Clan!"

He opened his mouth and spat out a deep blue dragon pearl, within which thousands of worlds seemed to float.

This was his life-source dragon pearl, the Zu Long Pearl, which was also a top-grade Innate Spirit Treasure.

Once sacrificed, it seemed to connect with the entire South Sea.

Countless waterspouts descended from the sky and rose from the sea, connecting heaven and earth as they swept forward.

Yuan Feng and Qing Wu stood back-to-back, Nanmingli Fire and Azure Wood Dao Rhyme interweaving to form a green and red barrier around them.

Roar!!

Dragon roars sounded repeatedly, and a sharp light emerged in Zu Long's eyes as he controlled the waterspouts to continuously sweep toward the two.

The waterspouts crashed against the barrier, and the endless Xuan Ming True Water constantly dissolved the barrier's defense.

Seeing that the defense was about to be completely broken, before Zu Long could even rejoice, he suddenly looked up.

The phantom of a tall Innate Spiritual Root abruptly appeared before his eyes.

Wutong suddenly released the longsword in his hand and spread his arms, as the green light around him flourished.

A parasol leaf-shaped mark appeared on his forehead, and he shouted softly: "True Form Manifestation!"

In an instant, a phantom of a Wutong tree that reached the heavens rose from the ground.

Lush green branches and leaves spread out, every leaf shimmering with Great Dao runes.

The phantom rooted itself in the Void Realm, actually blocking all of the surging waterspouts.

The Xuan Ming True Water crashed against the trunk with a "chi chi" sound, yet it could not penetrate even a fraction.

Zu Long's pupils constricted; he felt the majestic Innate Wood Spirit power contained within this phantom, which could actually completely block his attack.

While he was dazed, Yuan Feng had already turned into a streak of crimson light, weaving through the branches and leaves of the Wutong tree.

"Zu Long!" Yuan Feng shouted clearly, the divine phoenix plume in her hand transforming into a flaming longsword that stabbed straight at Zu Long's Face.

Wherever the sword edge passed, space was burned until it was distorted and deformed.

In his haste, Zu Long raised his claw to block; dragon scales collided with the fire sword, bursting with blinding light.

His massive dragon body was actually forced back by this sword strike, leaving a charred wound on his dragon claw.

"What a Yuan Feng!" Zu Long laughed in extreme anger, the light of his dragon pearl flourishing as he was about to launch an even more violent attack.

Right at this critical moment, Qing Wu's voice suddenly came: "Wait!"

The sudden voice interrupted the actions of both parties.

Yuan Feng's flaming sword edge stopped abruptly three inches from Zu Long's forehead.

She turned back in confusion, only to see Qing Wu standing beneath the Wutong phantom, holding a dripping green leaf in his hand.

"Fellow Daoist Zu Long," Qing Wu's voice was calm, "if our two sides continue to fight, it will only result in mutual destruction. Why don't we both take a step back and stop here?"

Qing Wu's words were intended to give Zu Long a way out.

In the current situation, anyone could see that Zu Long's side had completely fallen into the disadvantage.

Zu Long's dragon eyes narrowed; he saw that the leaf contained Innate Yimu Essence, which could faintly suppress his dragon pearl.

If he continued to fight, he would undoubtedly lose.

Although Yuan Feng was unwilling, she still retracted her sword and stepped back, standing by Qing Wu's side.

The Battle Intent in her red eyes had not faded, but she also knew that Qing Wu's move must have its purpose.

Finally, Zu Long snorted coldly and put away his dragon pearl: "Farewell!"

Since the other party actively gave him a way out, Zu Long was not a fool and took the opportunity to leave.

Having said that, he took the two small dragons and turned into streaks of light, heading toward the South Sea.

Once Zu Long was far away, Yuan Feng asked in confusion, "Wutong, why did you stop me?"

Wutong looked at the calmed sea surface and said softly, "Look."

In the distant horizon, several powerful auras were faintly approaching.

Yuan Feng understood immediately; the commotion of the great battle just now had already attracted the prying eyes of other mighty beings.

If they continued to fight, it would only allow others to benefit from their struggle.

Of course, the main reason Qing Wu called for a stop to the battle was that he could not form a deadly feud with Zu Long.

He had finally managed to get Yuan Feng out of the Great Calamity; he didn't want her to be dragged back in by the Dragon Clan.

"Let's go." Qing Wu withdrew the Qing Wu phantom and pulled Yuan Feng along as they turned into green light and departed.
