14: Refining treasures

With the Daoist arena established, Qing Wu and the other could finally settle down for a while.

Having searched for Opportunities for so long, traveled extensively, and engaged in two battles.

These were all valuable experiences.

It was also time to properly organize and settle these experiences, transforming them into their own insights.

At this time, the Primordial World was still relatively stable.

That emperor among Vicious Beasts—Shen Ni—had not yet established the Vicious Beast base, the Beast God Palace, on the northern lands.

Otherwise, these Vicious Beasts that had developed intelligence would surely be summoned to gather at the northern Beast God Palace.

What needed to be done next was to increase their strength as much as possible before the Beast Calamity.

One kalpas later.

During this time, Qing Wu had been Cultivating peacefully within the Daoist arena.

His strength reached the Taiyi Golden Immortal Late Stage, finally catching up with Yuan Feng.

Yuan Feng, on the other hand, often walked around the Immortal Volcano after refining the Fire Spirit Pearl.

The Immortal Volcano had just stabilized and no living beings had set foot there yet, so there were surely many treasures waiting to be plucked.

This was exactly what Yuan Feng wanted; every time she returned, she would have a bountiful harvest.

Her own little treasury grew more and more substantial, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of pride.

As for how substantial Yuan Feng's little treasury actually was, Qing Wu was well aware.

Because every time Yuan Feng returned with a harvest, she would hide the treasures in a space she had carved out.

Perhaps out of trust in him, this space happened not to be guarded against him.

To this, Qing Wu was also quite helpless and could only take good care of these treasures for her.

After all, if treasures were not put to good use, wouldn't they be wasted?

So Qing Wu immediately cast his Divine Thought into that space and discovered something good.

Reaching in, he pulled it out; it was a round little cauldron.

This treasure was named the Tian Li Cauldron, and although it was only an ordinary Innate Spirit Treasure.

It was born within the Immortal Volcano and had extremely high resistance to fire.

It was perfect for refining Magic Treasures right now.

Qing Wu took some of his own useless branches and threw them into the cauldron.

Then, he used his magic power to begin refining.

Though it was just one of Qing Wu's minor branches, refining a branch of a Supreme-Grade Acquired Spiritual Root was not that easy.

Judging by the effectiveness this cauldron could provide, it was indeed a bit forced.

At this moment, Qing Wu couldn't help but think of that precious cauldron—the qiankun cauldron.

This cauldron was transformed from the seedpod of the Chaos Green Lotus; its rank reached the level of a top-tier Innate Spirit Treasure, and there were even rumors that it had reached the level of an Innate Supreme Treasure.

This cauldron not only had outstanding defensive capabilities, but once sacrificed, it placed one in a position of Innate invincibility.

More importantly, it had various effects such as returning to the source, creating life, and suppressing Luck.

It was with this cauldron that Nuwa bestowed essence, Qi, and spirit upon clay figurines, creating the Human Race and attaining the Saint's fruit of the Dao.

It also played a part in the later refining of stones to mend the sky.

In short, this cauldron was truly like a panacea in the Primordial World, making Qing Wu extremely envious...

He shook his head.

Thinking too far ahead, Qing Wu quickly withdrew his focus.

Qing Wu gathered the overflowing magic power and then took out some Materials.

There were Volcanic Melt Crystals from the Immortal Volcano, ten-thousand-year coral from the bottom of the South Sea, and nine divine feathers plucked from Yuan Feng's body...

After stabilizing the fire, Qing Wu pondered to himself:

"The Chaos Gods and Demons have already emerged, and the Primordial World will face another round of impact."

In that battle with the Ancestral Dragon for the lidi firelight banner.

Qing Wu could clearly sense two extremely powerful auras nearby.

At the time, he couldn't be sure if their strength had reached the Daluo realm.

Now it seemed they were undoubtedly at the Daluo realm.

To be a step ahead of them at this time, Qing Wu guessed that these two were Chaos Gods and Demons.

They hadn't acted but observed in the shadows, partly thinking of letting them and the Ancestral Dragon suffer mutual losses before stepping in to reap the benefits.

On the other hand, they might have been wary of each other.

Although the Chaos Gods and Demons had fought together before their Reincarnation...

...or rather, had the experience of being hacked by the same axe.

There was some old sentiment between them.

But after Reincarnating into the Primordial World, this bit of old sentiment became insignificant in the face of the struggle for the Dao.

After all, for these Chaos Gods and Demons, only one could obtain Opportunities in the Primordial World and find their path back to the Dao.

Otherwise, many Chaos Gods and Demons wouldn't need to compete and fight to the death.

Luo Hou even detonated the western earth veins during that struggle between the Dao and the demons, escaping the Primordial World with heavy injuries.

However, Hongjun also owed a massive amount of Karma to the Primordial World during this conflict.

In the end, he had to merge with the Heavenly Dao and become the first Saint.

It was hard to say who really won or lost.

Regarding the conflicts between these Chaos Gods and Demons, Qing Wu expressed that he didn't care and didn't want to participate.

They were all old schemers who had lived for who knows how long in their past lives; anyone could win as long as he wasn't involved.

As for Hongjun's purpose in merging with the Dao, Qing Wu couldn't guess and didn't want to.

How difficult it was to guess a Saint's mind!

As a mere Supreme-Grade Acquired Spiritual Root, he only wanted to Cultivate in peace and occasionally communicate with other Spiritual Roots; the Great Dao was within reach.

With Yuan Feng by his side, that was enough.

If only he could...

While he was thinking, a flash of fire surged around him.

Multiple Restrictions were opened, revealing a fiery red figure.

Yuan Feng returned from her wandering outside, once again with a full harvest, secretly feeling happy.

When she saw the treasures she had collected scattered all over the ground.

And Qing Wu was sitting calmly like a fisherman on a terrace, guarding the cauldron in front of him.

"Qing Wu, how can you mess with my treasures without my permission?"

Yuan Feng's eyes narrowed slightly as she spoke in reproach.

Wutong summoned the Fu Feng Ruler; the small ruler opened into a fan and kept waving in front of Yuan Feng.

Seeing this, Yuan Feng quickly took a few steps back.

She couldn't help it; she had a deep-seated fear of this thing.

Qing Wu found it amusing and with a wave of his hand, the Tian Li Cauldron opened, and a golden light flew out from within.

The golden light flew around Yuan Feng, its aura suddenly shifting as it began to establish countless threads of connection with her.

The appearance of the golden light also gradually changed, eventually becoming a golden butterfly.

The butterfly slowly descended, flying around Yuan Feng a few times as if paying homage to the master of all birds.

Finally, it landed on her, turning into a pattern on her red clothes.

The anger in Yuan Feng's eyes had not yet completely dissipated before her full attention was drawn to that golden butterfly.

She looked down at the lifelike butterfly pattern on her lapel.

As her fingertips brushed over it, she actually felt an aura from the same source as herself, yet with a few more hints of clear wood-element vitality.

"This is..." Yuan Feng's brow relaxed slightly, her reproachful tone turning into confusion.

Qing Wu withdrew his magic power, and the Tian Li Cauldron landed back on the ground with a hum.

"Using your nine divine feathers as a guide, I melted the Volcanic Crystal Essence and ten-thousand-year coral, and then mixed in a piece of my spiritual branch."

He paused, "Refining this Golden Spirit dao pattern can help you increase the speed of Spiritual Qi absorption."

Yuan Feng immediately guided the Qi into her body and indeed found that her affinity for the surrounding Spiritual Qi had improved again.

She was no longer angry and with a wave of her hand, threw out some more Spiritual Materials.

"From now on, you can use these Materials as you wish."

Seeing the Fu Feng Ruler still swaying in front of her, Yuan Feng felt annoyed and simply ignored it.

She sat down under the tree on her own and began her Cultivation.

Qing Wu smiled faintly and accepted all the treasures.
