94: Qifeng Valley

Near Mount Buzhou, there was a valley called Phoenix Perch Valley.

The mountainside took the perfect shape of a vermilion cave; auspicious omens gathered, and various divine birds congregated here.

A Innate Sacred Being dressed in plain clothes, with an incomparably gentle temperament, stood in the center of the valley.

Holding a bamboo basket, she raised her fair hand lightly and scattered many dao rhymes, drawing responses from the many divine birds, which let out series of loud, harmonious cries.

The Chongming Bird was the first to flap its wings and sing out in harmony; its voice was like a bell or chime shattering the morning mist, and its tail feathers brushed against the cliff walls, splashing strings of golden-red sparks.

The Golden-Winged Bird followed closely behind, spreading wings that could blot out the sun; the flowing light falling from the tips of its wings intertwined with the dao rhymes scattered from the bamboo basket, turning into a sky full of starlight.

It tilted its head to rub against Nuwa's shoulder, its beak carrying a spiritual flower that had just bloomed on the edge of the cliff.

The Jiugong Bird and other divine birds circled around them, their cries rising and falling in succession, faintly harmonizing with the rhythm of heaven and earth.

A faint smile played on Nuwa's lips as she watched the divine birds either competing for the spiritual fruit in the bamboo basket or preening each other's feathers, her eyes full of gentleness.

These were all divine birds that Nuwa had protected during the Great Tribulation.

Each was naturally auspicious and possessed a divine charm, making her quite fond of them.

Although this place was called Phoenix Perch Valley, no Phoenixes resided here.

In fact, Nuwa had only heard these divine birds chirping about that noble Phoenix Lord.

Born noble with unparalleled creation, when the Phoenix flies, a hundred birds follow.

If such a being could be caught, it would surely be wonderful.

On a distant hilltop, a Daoist in white was watching this scene and could only shake his head helplessly.

Both of them were Innate Sacred Beings nurtured in this place and addressed each other as brother and sister.

Even though this was their Dao Field, he had been kicked out.

While Nuwa played with the various divine birds, he could only watch from the side.

This wasn't the first time, and he had long since grown accustomed to it.

After all, his younger sister had been born with a love for studying all kinds of living creatures, especially these birds with beautiful feathers.

This wasn't a bad thing; on the contrary, it was close to her Dao, so Fuxi said nothing.

It would just be better if she didn't leave him to clean up the mess in the Dao Field.

At that moment, Nuwa was teasing a Chongming Bird, her fingertip lightly touching the crest on its head, when she suddenly noticed that the divine birds in the valley had all stopped singing at once.

The Chongming Bird's eyes suddenly widened as it looked curiously in a certain direction.

The Golden-Winged Bird also abruptly folded its wings and remained motionless.

Even the most docile Jiugong Bird straightened its neck, listening intently to a certain call from its Bloodline.

All the divine birds turned toward the southeast in unison, their wings trembling slightly as if sensing something.

"What's wrong?" Nuwa asked, putting down the bamboo basket in confusion.

In the next moment, the entire valley erupted in an unprecedentedly loud chorus of singing.

The Chongming Bird raised its head to the sky and spat out a pillar of light interwoven with crimson and gold.

The Golden-Winged Bird spread its wings, which were a thousand zhang wide, and every feather burst with blinding light.

Thousands of divine birds took to the air simultaneously, their tail feathers trailing brilliant rays of light across the firmament.

They flew toward the southeast in an orderly fashion, the rays of light resembling a flowing river of stars.

Nuwa raised her fair hand, and a wisp of Creation Qi wrapped around a Black Bird that was trailing behind: "What happened?"

The Black Bird flapped its wings anxiously: "It's a call, a call from within the Bloodline!"

It broke free from the Creation Qi and chased after the flock without looking back.

A hint of surprise flashed in Nuwa's eyes.

These divine birds were usually quiet and peaceful, yet they had never had such a violent reaction.

Fuxi, in the distance, had already arrived on a cloud: "Little sister, what is this about?"

Auspicious clouds formed beneath Nuwa's feet, and with a flutter of her sleeves, she had already flown ten thousand miles chasing the flock.

Leaving only a voice behind, "Brother, watch the house; I'll be right back."

Fuxi looked at the instantly empty valley and shook his head with a bitter smile.

Unfinished spiritual fruits were still scattered on the stone table, and messy claw prints from the divine birds were left by the stream—everything was in disarray.

Nuwa had just patted her bottom and left, and in the end, it was up to him to clean up again.

Nuwa followed the flock, her surprise growing the further she flew.

Along the way, new birds constantly joined, looking respectful as if they were going to pay homage to some being.

When Nuwa passed through the clouds, she finally saw the source of the Ten Thousand Birds Paying Homage to the Ancestor.

Amidst the surrounding birds, a red figure stood quietly, her body shining with peaceful firelight—it was Yuan Feng.

She merely stood still, making the clouds for ten thousand miles around take on a magnificent golden edge, even making the sunlight pale in comparison.

The birds submitted, shouting "Phoenix Lord."

Yuan Feng raised her fingertip, and wisps of dao rhyme fell; as each bird bathed in it, they immediately felt their Bloodlines boiling.

"Fellow Daoist, it must be you who protected these many birds," Yuan Feng said with a smile, looking at Nuwa, who was watching quietly from the side.

Nuwa's body trembled; was this the Phoenix Lord the birds spoke of? She truly possessed a peerless posture.

No wonder she could make so many birds come to pay homage regardless of everything.

If such a being could be caught... Nuwa shook her head and stopped the thought.

This Phoenix Lord's strength was unfathomable; although there was a concealment that prevented her from seeing its depth, she certainly did not consider herself a match.

But seeing that this person bore no ill will, and feeling a similar Great Dao aura from her...

Inviting her back for a Dao Discussion should be no problem, right?

"Nuwa greets Fellow Daoist."

"To tell you the truth, I saw these divine birds were helpless during the Great Tribulation and felt compassion, so I took them under my protection. It was just a small effort, not worth mentioning."

After Nuwa finished speaking, the birds chirped in response, testifying for her.

Yuan Feng's beautiful eyes held a smile, "I am Yuan Feng, and I would like to have a Dao Discussion with you, Fellow Daoist. Would that be possible?"

Similarly, Yuan Feng also felt a familiar Great Dao aura from her, so she took the opportunity to propose a Dao Discussion.

Nuwa was also pleasantly surprised to hear this; she hadn't expected this Fellow Daoist to take the initiative to propose a Dao Discussion, so she naturally wouldn't refuse.

I wonder if Fuxi has finished cleaning the Dao Field.

Not caring about that anymore, Nuwa raised her hand in invitation: "Fellow Daoist, please follow me."

The two seemed like old friends at first sight, and surrounded by the many birds, they returned together hand in hand.

At this time, Qing Wu, who was to the side, hesitated slightly, wondering if he should follow.

This was the first time he had seen Yuan Feng show such a strong interest in a Innate Sacred Being other than himself; it was normal for her to overlook him for a moment.

From his observation just now, this Innate Sacred Being was indeed the future Mother of the Human Race.

With a gentle temperament, deep Roots, and a great love for the creatures of the Primordial World, it was no wonder she could become a Saint in the future.

Just as Qing Wu was in a dilemma, another Daoist in white appeared and bowed to him.

"I am Fuxi, greetings Fellow Daoist. My little sister was momentarily short-sighted and neglected you; please do not take offense."

Fuxi was also somewhat worried about his sister handling this sudden situation alone, so after tidying up the Dao Field, he followed immediately.

He happened to see Qing Wu left behind, so he quickly offered an apology.

Qing Wu waved his hand, not caring much.

On the contrary, he was happy for Yuan Feng for taking the initiative to find a Fellow Daoist with similar interests.

As for Fuxi, he was also worth making friends with.

"I am Qing Wu, greetings Fellow Daoist."
