83: A New World

The Struggle between Dao and Demon has finally come to an end.

Naturally, Hongjun became the ultimate victor.

All of this seemed to have been traceable from the very beginning.

It began from the moment the creation jade plate chose to be close to Hongjun, from when he found the Heavenly Dao Futon, which helped him comprehend the Laws of the Heavenly Dao and glimpse the essence of the Great Calamity, and also from when Luo Hou chose to prove his Dao through slaughter.

If anyone could have surpassed Hongjun in this Dao struggle, it would have been his old rival, Luo Hou.

But at some unknown point, the path Luo Hou chose began to deviate.

He sought to prove his Dao through slaughter, which meant continuously killing every killable living being, Karma, and Luck in the world.

This was inherently a path of supreme egoism.

If his Dao had succeeded, a shocking God of Slaughter might have been born.

But when all things return to silence and extinction, that is also when the Primordial World meets its destruction.

Therefore, the Heavenly Dao would never have stood on his side from the start.

Nonsense, he had already held a blade to the throat of the Heavenly Dao; it would be strange if the Heavenly Dao still supported him.

If he could have remained firm in his Dao Heart and used the Demonic Path to prove his heart, perhaps he would have had a certain chance.

One must know that the Demonic Path he established at the end, where "the Dao wanes as the Demon waxes, and the Demon waxes as the Dao wanes," was recognized by the Heavenly Dao.

Only then was his title as the Demon Ancestor fulfilled.

Everything has passed; next will be a new era.

The Qi of the calamity dissipated, and the Primordial World welcomed a long-awaited clarity.

The sky was finally no longer obscured. Amidst the shifting clouds, Innate Spiritual Qi fell like sweet rain, nourishing the scarred mountains and rivers.

Living beings of all races awoke from the disaster. Withered Spiritual Veins regained their vitality, dead wood sprouted branches, and scorched earth produced buds; a new Reincarnation quietly began after the destruction.

The Dragon Clan retreated to the Four Seas, with less than one percent of their strength remaining. Although they were still powerful compared to other races, they had lost the qualification to dominate the Primordial World.

The Qilin Clan fell into complete silence, shrinking back to the Central Land, praying for the Primordial World to dissolve their Karmic Obstruction.

The Luck of the Feather Clan completely collapsed, and their power dwindled to almost nothing.

The three clans have exited the stage of the Primordial World.

Small and weak groups scattered across the Primordial World seized the opportunity to establish a new order upon the ruins.

Yin and Yang and the Five Elements returned to balance, and the Dao Laws of the four poles and eight desolations followed nature. A more diverse and vibrant Primordial Era was slowly unfolding with the end of the Great Calamity.

Karma descended from the heavens as pillars of golden light fell upon various parts of the Primordial World.

For a time, the Primordial World was enveloped in various auspicious omens and visions.

Qing Wu and his companion were also targeted by a golden pillar of Karma, yet the Karma was slow to descend.

They originally thought it was preparing something big, but in the end, not even a single hair appeared.

The two kept staring at the golden clouds of Karma that hesitated to fall.

Until all other golden pillars had bestowed Karma one after another, only the golden light above their heads continued to hover without dispersing.

"Isn't this just playing with us? Is this all the newborn Heavenly Dao is?" Yuan Feng immediately expressed some dissatisfaction.

Logically, since the two of them protected many of the Western Spiritual Veins, they should have earned great Karma.

Although they didn't really want it, there should at least be an indication of attitude.

Now, not only is there nothing, but those golden clouds of Karma are still locked onto them and won't disperse. Isn't this just annoying?

Qing Wu, however, inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity, as if he had received this kind of treatment from a certain Great Dao before.

At that moment, the Golden Wheels of Karma behind their heads suddenly manifested on their own, bursting with an unprecedentedly brilliant light.

The golden light shot straight into the highest heavens, actually resonating with the sea of Karma clouds in the sky.

The entire sky began to twist and rotate, forming a massive purple vortex.

"This is!" Yuan Feng's pupils shrank suddenly, her phoenix eyes reflecting a wisp of purple energy gradually appearing in the center of the vortex.

That purple energy seemed weak, yet it contained a dao rhyme that surpassed everything.

It slowly descended. Wherever it passed, lotuses bloomed in the Void Realm, the sound of the Dao boomed, and even the Laws of heaven and earth retreated before it.

Qing Wu felt his Primordial Spirit tremble. The Dao Fruit within his body manifested uncontrollably, echoing the purple energy from afar.

"Primordial Violet Qi!"

Qing Wu finally recognized the origin of this purple energy.

No wonder the Heavenly Dao didn't bestow Karma. Perhaps seeing that they already had the limited edition Golden Wheels of Karma, it gave them an upgraded reward?

One must know that the value of this Primordial Violet Qi is far greater than Karma or anything else; it even relates to a method of proving one's Dao.

The currently known methods of proving the Dao include: the Law-based Dao-proving they have been following.

Hongjun's yet-to-be-disclosed method of proving the Dao by Beheading the Three Corpses.

The Luck-based Dao-proving practiced by the three clans.

And the Karma-based Dao-proving.

And the foundation of that Karma-based Dao-proving is this Primordial Violet Qi.

This method proves the status of a Saint, requiring one to entrust their Primordial Spirit to the Heavenly Dao.

To the Primordial World, a Saint is an immortal and indestructible existence. At the same time, a Saint's combat power is somewhat related to the strength of the Heavenly Dao.

Therefore, this is a method of proving the Dao that is highly bound to the Heavenly Dao.

Now that the Heavenly Dao has bestowed this wisp of Primordial Violet Qi, could it be that the Heavenly Dao is extending an invitation to them?

Or is it merely to reward them for their contributions during this Great Calamity?

After thinking about it, Qing Wu decided not to make it too complicated.

Since the Heavenly Dao gave it, he would take it.

As for whether to take the path of Karma-based Dao-proving, that decision could be made later.

Although with the appearance of the Heavenly Dao, many Laws would be constrained within it.

For a Reincarnation of a Chaos God and Demon like Yang Mei, the Heavenly Dao would have a certain level of rejection towards him.

But for "pure-blooded" Primordial beings like them, although the difficulty of comprehending Laws has increased, it is not impossible.

Since they have already cultivated their own Dao to its current Realm, they ultimately want to attempt the path of proving the Dao through Laws.

Relying on their own mastery of the Laws, Proving the Dao through Strength to achieve the Primordial Chaos Dao Fruit, where all Laws return to oneself—this is what they pursue.

However, now that they have the Primordial Violet Qi, there's no need to rush the Karma-based Dao-proving; it can be treated as a fallback.

With this thought, Qing Wu unhesitatingly put away the Primordial Violet Qi.

Once the visions of the Heavenly Dao had completely vanished, the figure of a white-robed Taoist appeared in the far distance—it was Hongjun.

He seemed to be heavily injured and was currently in a hurry to seek his opportunity to prove his Dao.

From afar, Hongjun gave a bow, indicating he would remember the favor owed this time, and then he departed.

This time, the two had only protected a portion of the Western Spiritual Veins, yet their gains were already significant.

Then Hongjun, who emerged victorious in the Struggle between Dao and Demon, must have gained even more.

His urgency to prove his Dao was understandable.

When they meet again, it will likely be around the time Zixiao Palace opens.

At that time, it will also be the moment the first Saint of the Primordial World is born.

With the matter concluded, after taking stock of their gains, Qing Wu and his companion did not linger and returned to the Immortal Volcano... With the exit of the three clans, the Primordial World was completely renewed.

New vitality, new Qi, and new Karma.

And some new protagonists are beginning to take the stage.
