137: Chapter 137: President Lincoln did not foresee death, but rather recalled it.

At this moment, inside the principal's office, the air was nearly frozen.

Principal Fu's expression was more serious than ever before. "Xiao Wang, how is the data search coming along?"

"I found it!" Teacher Xiao Wang spoke rapidly, reading from his phone screen. "Journal of Near-Death Studies, Volume 10, Issue 4, 1992. The article title is 'A Rare Case of Precognition: An Analysis of 117 Dream Records by Danny D.' It was recorded by John Stevenson of Harvard Medical School."

He took a deep breath and read out the most critical data: "95 accurate predictions, an accuracy rate of 81.2%, which is far beyond the realm of coincidence."

You could hear a pin drop in the office.

But this silence only lasted a second.

"There's more!" Xiao Wang quickly added. "The Cognitive Science Lab at UC Davis did a follow-up study in 2003, cross-verifying the predictions he recorded between 1978 and 1982. The most shocking one was the 1985 Mexico City earthquake—"

"How specific was it?" Principal Fu looked at Xiao Wang with piercing eyes.

"He dreamed of the specific date: Thursday, September 19, 1985. He dreamed of the details of collapsing buildings, and even a hospital with beige exterior walls where the red cross on the roof had half fallen off." Xiao Wang looked up, his voice getting lower. "It was later confirmed that it was the Mexico General Hospital, which was severely damaged in the earthquake. The neon cross on the roof... indeed had half of it destroyed."

"Hiss!!!"

Old Wang and several other teachers in the office gasped simultaneously.

The date, the location, and details to this extent—this was no longer something that 'prediction' could explain.

Xiao Wang struggled to speak the last few sentences:

"The lab's report concluded that..."

"Existing cognitive science models cannot provide a reasonable explanation. Ultimately, it was classified as a paranormal phenomenon; its authenticity was neither denied nor affirmed."

"These answers are essentially an affirmation: [Our medicine and neurology cannot explain it, so it can only be attributed to parapsychology and spirituality.]"

Hearing this, Principal Fu let out a long breath. His gaze gradually sharpened, though his expression showed a hint of emotion.

"When multiple independent sources cross-verify the same extraordinary phenomenon, the researcher's responsibility is to remain open-minded rather than cling to what is already known. The spirit of science lies in exploring the unknown."

He paused for a moment and said word by word: "If we don't use Jiang Zhe's akashic records or zero-point field concepts to explain it..."

"Then it proves the validity of the block universe mentioned by Einstein: the past, present, and future exist in the same space-time—invisible to each other, yet occasionally interacting."

"Under what conditions do they exist in the same space-time?"

Before he finished, his eyes swept over the many teachers in the room, and he slowly uttered three words.

"The revolving lantern!"

Instantly, the cold room seemed to freeze over.

This chill swept through all the professors watching the live stream.

In the faculty housing of Kyoto University of History, the four professors—Old Chen, Old Qian, Old Liu, and Old Wang—looked at each other. They had also just found the cross-verified data; it was practically ironclad evidence!!!

In the lounge of Huaqing University, Li Mo and Professor Guan both looked at Zhao Chengfeng.

On the laptop screen in front of Professor Zhao, an impeccable summary of the tracking study was open.

He opened his mouth and finally squeezed out a sentence with difficulty: "Psychology cannot explain this—unless this is a century-long scam planned over decades, but..."

"Professors and research teams from various universities have personally looked into it; that's enough to show..."

At this point, goosebumps suddenly rose on his skin, and he didn't dare say more.

On the living room sofa, Xiao Yu's face was deathly pale.

The photocopies of notes, video timestamps, scans of obscure publications, and news screenshots on the tablet...

...were repeatedly crushing her remaining materialistic worldview.

Her mind was frantically arguing: This is impossible, this is impossible!

Then, in the next moment, Jiang Zhe's calm voice came through.

"Xiao Yu, there's another case. It has nothing to do with modern research, but it's even more bone-chilling!"

Xiao Yu looked up blankly.

Seeing Xiao Yu's expression, Jiang Zhe's voice softened slightly.

The dream of the 16th President of the USA: Abraham Lincoln's dream. A few days before his assassination, he told his wife and several of his closest advisors that he had a vivid and terrifying dream."

"In the dream, he heard the sound of weeping coming from many rooms in the White House. He followed the sound and, in the East Room, saw a corpse lying on a catafalque, surrounded by weeping soldiers and mourning citizens."

"Then he asked a soldier, [Who is dead in the White House?] The soldier replied, [It is the President; he has been assassinated.]"

Hearing this, Xiao Yu's and all the viewers' eyes widened, and a chill arose once again.

"A few days later, Lincoln was indeed assassinated at Ford's Theatre."

"Later, his body was placed in the East Room of the White House for public viewing."

"The scenes in the dream—the White House, the East Room, the catafalque, the soldier guards, and the mourning public—were replicated almost exactly."

"And Lincoln couldn't have known the assassin's plan in advance, nor could he have accurately imagined the specific arrangement and details of his own state funeral after his death."

"This case I'm talking about was recorded by multiple parties and can be cross-verified—including his wife's memoirs and the diaries of the US cabinet members at the time."

Jiang Zhe looked at his sister, his voice very cold and quiet:

"So, Xiao Yu, if we don't use the akashic records to explain it... why did Lincoln's dream come true?"

The bullet chat in the live stream went completely blank as all the experts held their breath.

This case struck people's hearts more directly than any data—because it came from a real person who, on the eve of death, saw the complete script of his own demise with his own eyes.

He is even the only person in history to have seen his own death while still alive! (Ps: This truly came from the mouth of President Lincoln's wife).

After a few seconds of silence, the bullet chat exploded.

"Damn! I just checked; it's in the original text of Mrs. Lincoln's memoirs."

"Holy crap, I thought you were telling a bedtime story, but this is actually a diary entry from early April 1865!"

"And there's more than one witness; the Secretary of the Interior at the time also mentioned this prophetic dream in his memoirs."

"My god, a death announcement from President Lincoln himself—does this mean we've really been in a revolving lantern all along? Provided we don't use our bro's akashic records solution?"

"This isn't just a prophecy anymore; it's President Lincoln seeing his own death's conclusion!"

"The only person to see their own death while alive... I'm getting goosebumps for no reason!"

...

Meanwhile, in the faculty housing of the University of History.

Professor Chen Runzhi turned the screen toward the other three.

Scanned yellowed documents, photocopied pages of 19th-century handwritten diaries.

A few seconds later, Professor Old Qian's Adam's apple bobbed. "Cross-referenced. It's real."

"The time, location, details, and witnesses all match up." Professor Old Wang narrowed his eyes. "Logically speaking, this is impossible. How could someone see the scene of their own state funeral after death, and even hear a soldier's answer?"

Professor Old Liu analyzed with a heavy expression: "This isn't a later dramatization; it's first-hand material stated in detail by the person involved to his wife and two other friends before death arrived. Lincoln didn't foresee the assassin; what he foresaw was—the result after his own death."

As he finished, the air in the room instantly froze.

Professor Chen Runzhi let out a long breath. "Exclude all known possibilities."

He paused, his gaze sweeping over the three, and said with difficulty:

"Then, there is only one logical explanation left that fits all these predictions. For the dreaming Lincoln—what he saw was not the future, but..."

"A memory!"

"A memory?" The other three professors instinctively raised their eyebrows.

"Yes." Old Chen's eyes were sharp. "A famous detective can only point out all the details of a scene—which chair fell, the angle of the blood splatter, what footprints were there—after the murder case has been settled."

He paused, his gaze slowly sweeping over his three old colleagues.

"By the same token, for a person to 'see' every corner of their own funeral, every sentence of dialogue, the position of every person, the voice of every person... there is only one explanation!"

"For the 'Lincoln' who 'saw' that scene—his funeral was already an established fact that had occurred in the past."

"A few days before President Lincoln was assassinated—he wasn't predicting his death in a dream, he was..."

"Remembering death!"

At this point, a feeling of speechlessness suddenly arose.

So, the sights, sounds, smells, touches, and feelings of this moment, no matter how realistic—are they also a predetermined part of this massive memory?

No wonder the future is already set. We might not even be living in the 'here and now' of the starting point, but have always been living at the end—the 'future' in a near-death state.

Even though Jiang Zhe had previously revealed that the 'here and now' might be a revolving lantern memory, as the truth and ironclad evidence gradually pointed toward it...

The four professors present still felt the air turn cold.

...

In the lounge of Huaqing University.

The chain of evidence on the computer screens of Professor Guan, Li Mo, and Professor Zhao was irrefutable.

Lincoln's dream was as precise as a script!

Professor Guan and Dr. Li Mo looked at Zhao Chengfeng, waiting for his analysis as a psychology expert.

Zhao Chengfeng didn't look at the data; he stared at the lines of counter-arguments he had just written in his notebook.

Those logically rigorous arrows and question marks looked exceptionally glaring right now!

What if a person's life is not 'currently happening,' but 'already completed'?

What if the so-called 'prophetic dream' is just accidentally seeing a later segment due to a 'dropped frame' while reading this 'life movie'?

Then, President Lincoln didn't foresee the future.

He accidentally glimpsed the final scene of himself lying in the East Room just as the 'life movie' was playing to the days before the assassination.

Once this thought entered his mind, it was hard to shake off.

Zhao Chengfeng hesitated, wanting to speak his reasoning, but found it difficult to open his mouth.

When Jiang Zhe's akashic records/zero-point field are completely discarded, unfortunately, there is nothing in this world to explain what a prophetic dream is.

Only one person can explain it.

Thinking of this, Professor Zhao's eyes were fixed on Jiang Zhe on the big screen.

In the end, he said nothing.

...

In the living room, after a long silence, Xiao Yu slowly raised her head. Her face was pale, and her voice trembled uncontrollably.

"Brother..."

"Are we... already dead?"

Jiang Zhe nodded gently, and after a long pause, he slowly began to explain further.
