17: Chapter 17: Outdoor Live Streaming Exposed by Xiaoyu
It was a Saturday afternoon, and the warm sun was shining brightly.
It was a perfect time to go out for a stroll and soak up some rays.
Especially for that shut-in of a younger sister of mine who's practically fossilizing at home!
"Xiaoyu, let's head out. I'll take you for a walk. Do you still want to hear about Li Chunfeng's prophecy of World War III?"
"Huh? Yes, yes, let's go!" Jiang Xiaoyu dashed out of her bedroom, fully geared up. "Brother, I don't want to go to the park to watch old people. Isn't there a sports school nearby? It's full of youthful energy and has a great atmosphere."
"Let me experience the vibrant life of a college campus!"
That was what she said, but it wasn't what she was thinking.
Xiaoyu really wanted to see the muscular hunks at the sports academy and see how they compared to her brother, who inexplicably loved wearing formal attire.
And of course, she was going to livestream it on the sly!
Jiang Zhe walked to the window and glanced at the old men gathered under the trees in the park below playing chess. The atmosphere was indeed a bit stifling.
"That works too!"
And so, the siblings headed downstairs.
Jiang Xiaoyu walked behind him. As they reached the entrance of the sports academy...
She quietly activated the micro-camera in the chest pocket of her beige jacket.
The previously black livestream screen suddenly lit up, showing Gusu Sports School.
"So early! Finally, it's not a night stream!"
"Is it an outdoor livestream this afternoon?"
"The background is a sports school? What are you doing there?"
"The streamer's brother is such a troll. I was going to buy a tui bei tu online, but I couldn't find a single copy!"
"I'm at the Jiuhua Bookstore looking at the tui bei tu right now. Ever since I found out this book is extraordinary, I don't even have the courage to open it!"
"Didn't he say this morning he'd talk about Li Chunfeng's prophecy of World War III? When is he starting?"
A flood of bullet comments swept across the screen.
While Xiaoyu chatted quietly with her viewers...
She and Jiang Zhe arrived at the sports academy's athletic field.
Jiang Zhe took a deep breath, savoring the long-lost atmosphere.
Elsewhere.
On the high school's athletic field.
Old Wang, Old Zhao, and Old Wu, who had just finished lunch and were walking it off, suddenly heard the "ding-dong" notification of a livestream starting.
"It's on, it's on! Xiaoyu's live!" The usually mature and steady Teacher Wang suddenly lost his cool.
The three of them smirked, exchanged a knowing look, and ducked into a small grove. They opened the livestream, pulled out three bottles of Qingniao Beer, and lit three cigarettes.
"Watching his stream is a real treat!" Old Wu noticed the scene in the video looked familiar. "Wait, is this our school?"
"Definitely not, that's the sports school!" Old Zhao made a shushing gesture.
On the screen.
On the sports school's field, athletes from sprinters to long-distance runners were training intensely. The air was thick with male hormones.
A sprinter shot out with a "whoosh."
A shot putter spun and jumped with his eyes closed, hurling the heavy shot.
In the distance, nine students were doing a grueling 400-meter speed endurance run. As soon as they finished, they collapsed on the ground, gasping for air.
"Fuck, 400 meters! I'm never doing this again, even if it kills me!" an athlete on the ground cursed hoarsely!
At this moment, Jiang Zhe and his sister were walking near the steps on the edge of the field.
They weren't the only ones; there were spectators on the steps, along with several sports officials in formal wear with protruding bellies, clearly of high status, observing the training.
"Hey, wait a second!"
A middle-aged coach in a red short-sleeved shirt walked over with a solemn expression and grabbed Jiang Zhe.
"Zhao Yun, stop right there!"
"Slacking off during training, are we? Are your points high enough for this year's National Games? Don't you want to make it to the Olympics?"
"And you even brought..." The coach trailed off, glancing at Jiang Xiaoyu's pure and beautiful face.
"Zhao Yun, you brat. Don't think I won't recognize you just because you changed into a long-sleeved formal shirt and black trousers."
"I don't care about your private life, but you're not allowed to hit on minors!"
"Huh?" Jiang Zhe was stunned. He didn't react immediately, but soon realized—the man had mistaken him for someone else.
Before he could respond, the livestream's comment section exploded!
"Haha, Zhao Yun? Xiaoyu's brother was forced to change his name!"
"Hahaha, this is getting interesting. Now her brother has to run whether he wants to or not."
"Wait, aren't you guys surprised that there's someone who can rival the peerless looks of Xiaoyu's brother?"
"..."
Jiang Xiaoyu scanned the comments, and her eyes twinkled as a mischievous idea occurred to her.
Instead of explaining, she secretly slipped back and locked the camera on Jiang Zhe and the coach.
"I'm not Zhao Yun," Jiang Zhe explained calmly.
"How could I be wrong?" The middle-aged coach sized Jiang Zhe up seriously and said with absolute certainty, "With your build and looks, you're definitely Zhao Yun. You even lied to me saying you weren't coming to class today. I didn't expect you'd change clothes just to come to the track and watch others train!"
"Stop talking nonsense. Are you just too tired?"
"It's fine. Finish the 100-meter, 200-meter, and the grueling 400-meter today. You're not allowed to rest until you hit the Master Sportsman standard multiple times!"
The coach had completely decided that Jiang Zhe was Zhao Yun.
It was simply because the coach wasn't wearing his glasses; he just went by the silhouette.
Jiang Zhe looked speechlessly at this coach whose name he didn't even know. He was about to refuse again when he caught a glimpse of Jiang Xiaoyu giggling behind him.
Since his sister wanted to see how this misunderstanding played out...
As a doting brother, he naturally had to go along with it!
"Alright then!"
The coach pointed to the starting line. "Good that you're being sensible. Go to the starting line and let me see how many times you can reach the Master Sportsman standard!"
In this world, the Master Sportsman standard for the 100-meter sprint was 10.50 seconds—electronically timed!
It was clear that Zhao Yun's performance was at the national Master Sportsman level!
To reach the Master level was no small feat!
And he could still mistake him for someone else?
Jiang Zhe walked toward the starting line with the coach, feeling speechless.
Hearing the commotion, many student-athletes who were resting flocked from all directions. Hearing that Zhao Yun had been caught and forced to do extra training, they all came to enjoy the spectacle.
"Haha, Zhao Yun is in trouble. He even brought his little girlfriend to school."
"The coach is going to skin him alive, haha!"
"He's not Zhao Yun, is he? Zhao Yun's muscle definition and features aren't as sharp as his, and he's not as handsome!"
"Wait, what!!!"
Some teammates recognized he was an impostor, but knowing the coach's fiery temper, they chose not to expose him to avoid future trouble.
Once this amateur couldn't even break 13 seconds, the coach would figure it out himself.
Xiaoyu secretly blended into the group of athletes, pointing her phone at her brother at the starting line.
Jiang Zhe stood at the starting line without warming up or using the starting blocks.
This completely amateur appearance made the coach flare up in anger, and the laughter from the surrounding "teammates" grew louder!
Seeing this, the viewers in the livestream were more worried than anyone.
"Brother doesn't know how!"
"That posture is way too amateur. He's going to get chewed out by the coach, right?"
At the starting line.
Five other athletes had already lined up for the 100-meter sprint. They all looked strangely at "Zhao Yun," who hadn't even changed into a tracksuit and was about to run in an inconvenient suit. They shook their heads, thinking the coach would surely tear him a new one afterward!
"Ready!"
The coach locked his gaze on Jiang Zhe, who hadn't changed his clothes or shoes, and raised the starter pistol.
Jiang Zhe looked left and right, seeing everyone else using starting blocks while he had no idea how to use them. He just bowed slightly as a sign of respect.
*Bang!* The starter pistol fired.
In that instant!
Jiang Zhe moved!
