72: Chapter 72: Kunlun's Fate Leaves the Agents Confused
Chaos had erupted on the yacht.
"The radar is useless! The GPS is useless! The navigation is completely dead!"
"The engine is still running, but the boat is just spinning in place! On the track map, it's a damn circle!"
"Witch, aren't you the best hacker around? Do something!"
"Do something my ass! This place is a signal black hole. No internet, no data, nothing! My computer is just a brick!" the Witch screamed, slamming her laptop onto the floor.
"Shut the fuck up, all of you!"
Snake Eye's roar finally quieted the cabin.
He entered from the deck, soaked through, unable to tell if it was seawater or fog. His face was pale, but his eyes were terrifyingly calm.
"Forget about the electronic equipment; it's all useless now." His voice was hoarse. "What we've encountered isn't a technical problem; it's… something else."
"What is it?" Rhino clenched his fists. "A secret weapon from the Xia Kingdom? A weather weapon?"
"I don't know." Snake Eye shook his head and walked to the chart table. On it lay the most primitive paper charts and a compass.
But the compass needle was spinning wildly, as if insane.
Snake Eye's heart sank along with it.
Even the magnetic field was chaotic.
Now, never mind high-tech; even the methods from the Age of Discovery centuries ago wouldn't work.
They had completely become blind at sea.
"Boss, what do we do now?" Chameleon's voice was trembling slightly.
Snake Eye didn't speak.
He had been in this business for a long time; he had seen all kinds of storms, infiltrated nuclear facilities, and survived hails of bullets. But he had never felt so stifled.
All his experience and skills had become a joke in this ghostly situation.
The opponent hadn't even shown their face, just released a patch of fog, and they had played this group of world-class agents for fools.
This was simply a great humiliation.
Suddenly, a thought crossed his mind.
"Wait, there's still a chance." A glimmer returned to Snake Eye's eyes.
"We don't know where the enemy is, but they definitely know where we are. They trapped us because they want to capture us. Therefore, they must be sending people over."
"You mean… waiting for them to walk into a trap?"
"No." Snake Eye grinned, revealing a fierce expression. "It's inviting them to deliver themselves to our doorstep."
He walked to the weapon crate and opened it; inside was the heavy firepower they had prepared.
"Deploy all the sensor mines and directional bombs. Turn this boat into a trap. No matter what comes, as long as they dare to approach, make sure they don't return!"
"But Boss, the fog is so thick, what if we hit a fishing boat?" The doctor was still hesitant.
"Do you think we can worry about that now?!" Snake Eye grabbed him by the collar, his eyes bloodshot. "We are fighting for our lives right now! Execute the order!"
"Yes!"
The Ghost team immediately sprang into action. They were all veterans; once they had a target, they instantly shook off the panic and turned into killing machines.
Sensor mines disguised as buoys were tossed into the surrounding fog. Powerful directional bombs were also installed at every corner of the gunwale.
In less than ten minutes, the yacht had become a powder keg ready to explode at any moment.
Snake Eye himself grabbed a sniper rifle with thermal imaging, lay on the highest part of the boat, and stared motionless into the thick fog.
He believed that as long as any living thing approached, it wouldn't escape his muzzle.
He wanted to use the most primitive, most bloody method to tear this ghostly situation apart and regain his dignity.
...
Three black assault boats plowed through the waves in the thick fog, making almost no sound.
Dongfang Shuo stood at the bow, holding a communicator, completely disregarding the thick fog around him.
"Port fifteen degrees, there's an undercurrent ahead."
"Maintain speed, there are reefs three hundred meters ahead, pass through the middle."
"Xiao Qi, your boat, starboard five degrees, keep up."
Every order he gave was strictly executed by the two junior brothers behind him; no one had a single question.
They all knew that these instructions came from that Immortal Master sitting high above the city.
"Senior Brother, we're almost there." One of the junior brothers driving the boat whispered a reminder.
On the communicator, the red dot representing the enemy was already very close.
"Pay attention, everyone." Dongfang Shuo's voice was transmitted to everyone through the headset. "The opponents are top agents from Country M, and they might have heavy hardware. The mission is to capture them alive; try not to use lethal force, but if they resist fiercely, prioritize your own lives first."
"Understood!"
"Also," Dongfang Shuo added, "The Immortal Master is watching. Everyone, perk up; don't embarrass Kunlun Academy!"
Once these words were spoken, they were more effective than any pep talk.
The momentum of all the Kunlun Academy disciples changed instantly, full of fighting spirit.
The speed of the assault boats increased a little more.
...
Snake Eye stared intently ahead through the thermal imaging scope.
Suddenly, he narrowed his eyes.
Three high-speed moving heat sources appeared in the scope, rushing over quickly from the fog!
It's speedboats!
"The enemy is here! Three boats! Nine o'clock direction! Moving fast!" He calmly issued a warning over the walkie-talkie.
The people on the boat immediately entered combat mode.
Rhino held a light machine gun, guarding the side of the boat, licking his lips with a bloodthirsty look on his face.
"Come on, babies, let me see what kind of goods the Xia Kingdom has sent."
"Wait until they get closer." Snake Eye's voice was icy. "Wait until they enter the minefield."
He could almost see the scene seconds later, with those three speedboats being blown into the sky.
But the next scene left him dumbfounded.
When the three speedboats were about to hit the mines, as if they had agreed upon it, they all made a sharp turn at the same time, swerving forcefully and perfectly bypassing the first mine.
Then the second, the third…
Those three speedboats were as slippery as loaches; they could always find gaps in the minefield to slip through, continuing to approach unscathed!
"This… how is this possible?!" Snake Eye's jaw almost dropped in shock.
Those mines were laid by his own hands, their positions calculated; theoretically, it was a death trap.
Unless… unless the opponent had a real-time updated map of the minefield!
An absurd thought made Snake Eye's scalp tingle.
Could it be that their actions of laying the mines earlier were all under the opponent's eyes?
He didn't dare to think about it.
"Fire! Fire at will! Don't let them get close!" he roared hoarsely.
Rhino had been waiting, and with a sinister grin, he pulled the trigger.
The machine gun's tongue of fire tore through the thick fog, and bullets poured like a rainstorm toward the leading speedboat.
But the moment he opened fire, the speedboat's engine roared, and the boat drifted sideways for several meters, missing all the bullets!
Following that, a figure soared into the sky from that speedboat!
The figure flew nearly a hundred meters in the air, landing straight toward the yacht's deck!
"Watch out! Someone's coming over!"
Snake Eye saw it clearly through the scope.
It was a young man in blue work clothes, holding an antique-looking… sword?
"Thud!"
Dongfang Shuo landed steadily on the yacht's deck, shaking the entire deck.
He scanned the group of blonde-haired and blue-eyed foreigners in front of him, who were full of astonishment, and curled the corners of his mouth.
"By the order of the Immortal Master, I have come to capture you."
His voice wasn't loud, but everyone heard it clearly.
"Now, drop your weapons and surrender, and you might suffer a little less."
