92: Chapter 92: I am the protagonist of the new era

In a sci-fi-looking glass building on the outskirts of Boston, Country M.

This was the world's top private research institution—the "Genesis Life Science Research Institute."

Inside a pure white laboratory, a blonde old man looked at the young man before him, his face full of regret.

"Lin, are you really going back?" The old man's voice was filled with reluctance. "Stay. I swear to God, Genesis can provide you with the best conditions in the world. My position will be yours in the future. Together, we can unlock the ultimate secrets of human evolution—hasn't that always been your dream?"

This old man was a Nobel Prize winner and the founder of Genesis, Professor Adrian.

And the young man he held in such high regard was none other than Lin Yuan.

Lin Yuan smiled as he took off his white lab coat, folded it neatly, and placed it on the lab bench.

"Professor, thank you for your guidance over these past few years." His tone was respectful but carried a hint of distance. "However, my motherland needs me more right now."

"Needs you?" Adrian scoffed and pointed at the news on the screen beside them.

On the screen was a promotional video released by the official authorities of Xia Country regarding "Spiritual Energy Revival" and "Kunlun Academy." Mist drifted between skyscrapers, and soldiers practiced simple breathing exercises, looking quite full of Eastern mystery.

"They need you to go back... for this?" Adrian's tone was dripping with mockery. "Lin, you are the most talented young man I have ever seen. Your body is practically a gift from God; you were born to resonate with what you call 'spiritual energy.' You are a natural-born Evolver, a prototype for the New Human!"

"But what are they having you go back for? To go to some place called an 'Academy' and learn how to... construct, along with thousands of ordinary people?" He found the word hilarious. "This is wasting your talent! You should be standing at the top of the pyramid, the one setting the rules, not becoming some construction worker!"

Lin Yuan looked at the screen and remained silent.

He was, of course, well aware of how high his talent was.

For as long as he could remember, he could see those colored specks of light in the air and manipulate them with ease. In his eyes, ordinary people were all gray, dull, and stupid.

At Genesis, instruments further confirmed his uniqueness. Cell activity, energy affinity, mental strength... every metric was leagues ahead of ordinary people.

He was the Chosen One.

Adrian was right; he should become a god, not a "worker."

"Professor, you don't understand." Lin Yuan shook his head, a confident smile on his face. "Xia Country is different from the West. We have thousands of years of heritage and understand better how to use this power. What's in the promotional video is just window dressing for the common folk."

What he was thinking, however, was something else entirely.

He admitted that Xia Country's actions this time were fast enough; once the state intervened, their organizational capacity was indeed strong. That chief instructor named "Jiang Ning" seemed to be the center of everything.

He had read all the public information he could find about Jiang Ning. The information was vague and mysterious, but it all pointed to one thing: this person possessed the core technology of "spiritual energy."

But Lin Yuan didn't think her path was the right one.

"Cultivation for all?" He sneered inwardly. "What a joke. If power isn't held in the hands of a few elites, it's worthless and will only bring chaos and destruction."

In his view, the country had been led astray by that woman named Jiang Ning. She might understand some technology, but she completely failed to grasp the "Dao" or the way power should be played.

Turning precious cultivation methods into a "construction manual" that anyone could learn was simply a waste of God's gifts!

Therefore, he had to go back.

He had to go back and correct this mistake.

He would use his unparalleled talent to show everyone who was right and who the true protagonist of this new era was.

He would replace Jiang Ning, take control of Kunlun Academy, and become the sole leader of Xia Country's cultivation.

He would build a brand new order—an elite order where geniuses like him ruled over ordinary people.

"That's why I must go back." Lin Yuan looked at Adrian, his eyes full of ambition. "That place is a newly opened land with plenty of opportunities. And I intend to be the only king on that land."

Adrian watched his fanaticism and fell silent.

He could no longer persuade this young man.

"Alright." He sighed. "Since you've made up your mind, I respect your decision. However, the doors of Genesis will always be open to you. If things don't go well there, you can return at any time."

"I won't be coming back." Lin Yuan smiled. "Because I will personally reshape my motherland into the way I want it to be."

He picked up his luggage, turned around, and left without looking back.

After he left, Adrian watched his retreating figure with a complex expression. He walked to a hidden corner, took out an encrypted phone, and dialed a number.

"It's me."

"'Adam' has set off; he's returned to Xia Country."

"Yes, he is very confident, arrogant even. He thinks he can control everything."

"Our plan can begin. Let him clash with the Xia officials and that mysterious Jiang Ning. Regardless of the outcome, we will get the data we want."

"Exactly. The final data on which path is better... the 'Chosen Ones' or the 'Technologists'."

...

When Lin Yuan stood on the plaza of Kunlun Academy and shouted those words in front of everyone, he felt like he was the center of the world.

He could sense the students below the stage—some were shocked, some admired him, and some were jealous.

He could also sense the displeased gazes of the big shots on the rostrum.

All of this made him feel very gratified.

This was exactly the effect he wanted.

No destruction, no construction.

He wanted to use the most direct method to completely pit his philosophy against that of the "Worker Instructor."

He wanted everyone to see clearly that there was a world of difference between them.

His gaze finally landed on the girl who had remained expressionless from start to finish.

Jiang Ning.

Was this the woman the state had placed on a pedestal? She looked ordinary, a bit thin, like an undergraduate who hadn't even graduated yet.

Lin Yuan felt even more disdain in his heart.

He felt he wouldn't even need any tricks. Just a slight display of his "Heavenly Spiritual Root" ability would instantly finish off this woman and her ridiculous "Infrastructure Construction theory."

He was already prepared.

As long as she dared to contradict him by even a single word, he would immediately channel spiritual energy and show everyone what true "talent" really looked like!

The air in the entire plaza froze.

Everyone held their breath, waiting for Jiang Ning's response.
