40: Green Ivy Whisper

“Don't worry, everyone! As long as we get extra energy crystals in the future, everyone will have a chance to awaken.” Luo Chen painted a grand vision for the girls.

“Really?!”

“That’s great!”

Upon hearing this, the girls immediately cheered and danced with joy.

Luo Chen watched with a slight smile. The Train was always so lifeless; such a lively atmosphere was truly rare.

Perhaps I should get some entertainment facilities, Luo Chen thought.

At the very back of the girls, Chisu Kazumi looked at Shirasawa Erina and cautiously asked, “Miss. Do you think he will give them to us?”

Chimata Souko quickly and cautiously turned her head to glance at Chisu Kazumi, then secretly shifted her gaze to Shirasawa Erina.

Her heart was also full of curiosity, but unlike Chisu Kazumi, Chimata Souko did not have the courage to ask directly. She knew very well that their Miss Shirasawa Erina was not someone to be trifled with.

If she were to accidentally offend her, it would likely lead to a severe punishment.

Chimata Souko didn't want to bring trouble upon herself due to a moment's impulse, so she could only bury her curiosity deep in her heart, silently observing Shirasawa Erina's every move.

“What, you want it too?” Shirasawa Erina cast a faint glance, her tone flat with a hint of accusation.

“This servant wouldn’t dare.” Chisu Kazumi was startled and said quickly.

“If we can strive for it, we naturally shouldn’t let it go. Don’t you hope your Miss lives for a few hundred more years?”

“What is that Japanese woman chattering about?” Luo Chen looked at Shirasawa Erina behind the girls, and seeing her suspiciously point to herself, he continued, “That’s right, I’m talking about you.”

“I heard that you Japanese are best at making salmon sashimi and the like. It’s a good opportunity to show off your skills.”

Luo Chen said loudly. An hour of high-intensity training had left him quite hungry, and he desperately needed to replenish his energy.

And protein was an excellent food source for replenishment; it could not only help repair muscles but also increase muscle mass.

Eating protein powder after a workout served the same purpose.

“You still have salmon?” Shirasawa Erina said, “Salmon sashimi requires fresh fish. Cured fish cannot be made into sashimi.”

“Sister Yujun, hey… why isn’t Sister Yujun here?”

“Mommy is in the room.” Chen Tianxiang said in a childish voice, “Mommy has been in the room with a worried expression since last night.”

“She’s probably thinking about something. I’ll go call her later,” Luo Wan Ning said from the side.

She probably guessed the reason.

Although Sister Yujun seemed very kind and diligent, she was actually a very insecure person. This could be seen from her unwillingness to accept others' kindness.

Her staying in the room and not wanting to come out was very likely because of yesterday's Train fusion, which made her feel that she had done something wrong and was very guilty. Especially with her having a young daughter, this feeling was even more severe.

Although Luo Chen didn't blame her, she always kept it in her heart. In other words, the reason she was like this was not that she was at odds with others, but that she was at odds with herself.

“Alright! Shishi, go get…” Luo Chen hadn’t thought so much. He counted the number of people present, including himself, making eleven, and instructed Dongfang Shishi, “Get 6 pieces.”

Dongfang Shishi turned and went to the Xue Shang Train to get the salmon.

It would take some time to prepare, so Luo Chen pulled the newly acquired treasure chest to the cockpit.

He wondered what good things he could open.

Opening the treasure chest, Luo Chen was stunned by what was inside.

A bow, entirely green, its body like a vibrant green vine, lay on soft black soil.

Luo Chen picked it up and tried to draw the string, using all his strength, barely managing to draw it halfway.

So strong!

Luo Chen was full of admiration, placing it aside. Two quivers of arrows, 100 in each, also lay in the treasure chest.

A note was attached to the quiver. He picked up the note:

[Primitive Grade 'Whisper of the Green Vine'

Rating: 8;

Description: In Elvish, it is called the 'Plea of Eternal Green', the debut work crafted by the MS-class artisan of the Twilight Forest Elves—'Vine Weaver' Arthes, during the Third Silence.

The bow body is made from a broken spirit branch of the ten-thousand-year-old sacred vine 'Yurashi', quenched in tree spirit blood on a full moon night. The bowstring is woven from moonlight spider silk, emitting a buzzing tremor when wound. The arrows are cut from moonlight needle bamboo, appearing like silver needles when fired, imperceptible to the eye.

Features: 1. Lunar Resonance: Under moonlight, no arrows are needed; drawing the string can condense energy arrows.

2. Living Weapon: Requires regular burial in humus to provide nutrition, otherwise the vines will wither.]

Isn't rotten soil just dirt mixed with dead branches and leaves?

Luo Chen casually dug through the soil at the bottom, and it was indeed as he expected: dirt mixed with rotten leaves.

Huh? There's more?

Luo Chen suddenly noticed a small red corner peeking out from the soil.

Core?

I was wondering why I hadn't seen any cores or train coins; it turns out they were all hidden in the soil.

Luo Chen dug out all the soil from the treasure chest and found a total of three cores—one green, one white, and one red—10 train coins, 127 star coins, three soft eggs the size of a head, and one energy crystal.

Not bad!

It was worth the gamble.

Luo Chen wiped the soil off the energy crystal, his face beaming with joy, and quickly tucked it into his embrace. This was a good thing to enhance strength and longevity; it had to be hidden well.

Soft eggs?

What are these things?

Luo Chen picked up the three soft eggs and inspected them one by one, discovering that there was something moving inside.

They're alive! And they haven't hatched yet.

He wondered what kind of creature's eggs they were, and whether they could be eaten. Luo Chen looked at the moving shadows inside the shells, his eyes full of curiosity.

Luo Chen put the soil back into the treasure chest, then returned the soft eggs. He would wait for them to hatch. If they were edible, he would raise them as livestock; if not, he would discard them.

He also buried the bow 'Whisper of the Green Vine' inside, as it needed to be kept in humus. If it were left outside and got damaged, he would suffer a huge loss.

After putting away the treasure chest, Luo Chen began to activate the two cores:

One was for Train lighting, which Luo Chen installed in Noya's room (Bedroom 1-1-3).

The other one was,

[Optical Mimicry Coating (Green): Achieves Train invisibility or shape-shifting (invisibility effect is halved when moving). Free to use for one hour daily, can use star coins to extend duration, 10 Star Coins/hour.]

Invisibility and shape-shifting?

Luo Chen's eyes lit up. Wouldn't he be able to go invisible and hide like an old fox when encountering other people in the future?

Unfortunately, there was only one hour of free time per day, and to use it more, he would have to spend star coins to extend the time. But it was only ten star coins, so there was no pressure at all.

He put the remaining white core and train coins into his small treasury (a bronze treasure chest).

After counting, he found that he now had:

train coins: 74;

star coins: 1269;

Cores: one white core.

Luo Chen was surprised to find that he had so many star coins.

He immediately wondered if he could buy a personal smart wristband for each of Luo Wan Ning and the others.

As the Train continued to merge, the carriages became more numerous, and the space became larger and larger. Sometimes, finding someone required walking a long distance, and transportation was inconvenient.

With wristbands, everyone on the Train could contact each other anytime, anywhere, saving a lot of time.

Excluding him and Xue Shang, there were a total of nine people, and one for each would only cost 45 star coins.

He took out the star coins and put them into the Train's coin slot. Soon, nine watches appeared in the gift package delivery box.

Their appearance was not much different from the personal control light screen, except that the display screen was smaller and lacked the Train Conductor's control functions.

“Brother Chen, it’s time to eat.”

Just then, Dongfang Yuyao came over to call him for dinner.

Luo Chen picked up the wristbands and walked out.

In the same spot, eleven people were now seated cross-legged, with a pile of salmon slices on the floor, which was covered with plastic wrap.

In the center of the fish slices, several plates of dipping sauces were arranged: wasabi paste, horseradish paste, and sashimi soy sauce.

Luo Chen picked up a slice, dipped it in each sauce, and put it into his mouth.

After a careful taste, his taste buds were greatly satisfied: “Mm! Delicious. Last time it felt greasy, but this time it’s much better. Sashimi really needs to be made by a professional.”

“Mr. Luo flatters me. It’s mainly because the ingredients provided by Mr. Luo are fresh and delicious.” Shirasawa Erina picked up a slice and tasted it, saying, “I wonder where Mr. Luo obtained this; its taste is truly rare in my life.”

“Cannot say! Cannot say.” Luo Chen deliberately played coy, then took out the personal smart wristbands from behind him and placed one in front of each person.

“What is this?” The girls looked at the watches in front of them, asking in confusion.

“Personal smart wristbands. Their functions are similar to mobile phones, and you can contact each other within the Train.”

“Really? That’s great.”

Upon hearing this, everyone cheered and excitedly put them on their wrists, looking around with joyful eyes… After lunch, everyone returned to their rooms. There was truly nothing entertaining outside, so they might as well go back to their rooms to sleep.

Luo Chen also returned to Noya’s room, preparing to take a nap. In the past few days, Noya and Luo Wan Ning’s relationship had become very close, so much so that they almost always slept together.

Thump, thump, thump!

Just as Luo Chen lay down, a few soft doorbell rings suddenly sounded from outside the door.
