68: Guild of the Gods
“I didn't expect your character to be quite good; at least you're not the type to abandon your woman out of fear.”
However, no sooner had she spoken than she seemed to sense something, her expression drastically changing: “To be discovered so quickly!”
With that, her body transformed into a streak of light and shot into the memory token in Luo Chen's hand.
What's going on? What was discovered?
Luo Chen looked at Su Jinxuan, puzzled.
Su Jinxuan also shook her head blankly.
Their confusion didn't last long. Soon, a blond human man in golden armor and a long robe appeared out of thin air before them.
“What the hell? Who is this now?”
Luo Chen thought to himself.
Every day, his Train was becoming a public restroom? Anyone could just walk in.
“INFORMATION CLASSIFIED, INSUFFICIENT PERMISSION TO ACCESS.”
Luo Chen's pupils contracted. Information classified? What kind of being was this?
“Kid. I am your navigator—Philip, responsible for monitoring previous Train Conductors entering your novice zone. If you see any suspicious information, you can tell me, and I can uphold justice for you.”
“No, none! Are there other Train Conductors from previous sessions entering our zone?”
Luo Chen pretended he hadn't seen anything, asking with a bewildered expression.
“Really none? If he threatened you, you can tell me. Gods Guild does not allow previous Train Conductors into the novice zone; this would disrupt the fairness of the game.”
Philip stared at Luo Chen, asking with a serious expression.
He had clearly sensed a presence far exceeding the power level of the novice zone just now, but unexpectedly, in the blink of an eye, it had vanished without a trace.
“I haven't seen anyone.” Luo Chen shook his head.
“Did I get it wrong?” Philip mumbled, then looked at Luo Chen and said kindly, “Kid, I have high hopes for you. If you're willing, you can join Gods Guild after your protection period ends.”
“Gods Guild? What kind of power is that?”
“Gods Guild is a force specifically tasked with executing the Pantheon Council's decisions; it's considered the official organization of the gods.”
“I'll think about it! Isn't it still too early?” Luo Chen feigned contemplation for a moment before deferring.
The current situation was unclear; rashly joining a faction would only drag him into disputes. It was better to improve himself first, gain enough leverage, and then consider joining other forces.
“Hmm! You're still in the protection period, so it's too early to discuss these things.” Philip nodded; he had been a bit too eager.
He continued, “If you see any other suspected Train Conductors from other sessions entering, you can use this token to summon me.”
As he spoke, he handed a round token to him. The token had only a Train engine on it, with no other patterns.
Luo Chen solemnly put it away, smiling, “Thank you for your care, sir. Sir, would you like something to eat?”
“No need! I have things to do, so I'll be leaving now.” Philip said, glancing around before his body vanished on the spot.
With Philip's departure, Luo Chen finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Today, he had suddenly become entangled with two major forces. He didn't know if it was a good thing or not.
“Luo Chen...” Su Jinxuan came to his side with a guilty expression, about to explain what had happened today.
Luo Chen glanced left and right, quickly interrupting, “Now is not the time to talk. We'll discuss anything later.”
He didn't know if Philip had truly left, but talking about things immediately after someone had just departed wasn't a good habit. What if he hadn't gone far and came back? Wouldn't that be self-sabotage?
Not far outside the Train, Philip reappeared in space, his gaze fixed on the location of Luo Chen's carriage. But after looking for a long time and finding no suspicious individuals, he had to give up.
Luo Chen didn't know Philip hadn't left.
He checked the time; it was already noon, time for lunch.
In the dining car, others walked in in twos and threes.
“Luo Chen, you're here. I was just about to call you.” Mu Sichun saw Luo Chen enter and excitedly ran up to him.
Others also greeted him one after another.
Luo Chen nodded in response to each of them.
“Did you go to the planting car?” Luo Chen stopped and asked casually.
At this moment, Mu Sichun's face was still stained with dirt, and her clothes had many mud stains, clearly indicating she had just come from the planting car.
“Yes! I just went to plant those special plants.” Mu Sichun nodded, looking at Luo Chen with a meaningful gaze and saying, “That Pea Shooter is too weak. It only shoots a few times before it can't shoot anymore. Compared to you, it's much weaker.”
“I think you're hungry again.” Luo Chen came to Mu Sichun's side, slapped her round bottom hard, and said grumpily.
“That's right! Can you feed me? I haven't eaten in a long time, and it's all empty inside.” Mu Sichun extended her pink tongue and licked her cherry lips, her eyes seductive and full of teasing.
“We'll talk after dinner.”
Luo Chen knew Mu Sichun was trying to please him, but he didn't care. As long as she didn't cause trouble, he would be the one who benefited in the end.
With that, he found a seat and sat down.
Seeing Luo Chen leave, Bai Ruowei hurriedly walked to Mu Sichun's side: “Sichun, I misjudged you. I didn't expect you to be so wanton.”
“You're not much different. Last time in the cockpit, that sound was so loud that I heard everything clearly from outside the cockpit.”
“Oh!” Bai Ruowei's face instantly flushed crimson with embarrassment, and she said anxiously, “You're not allowed to say that! You said you didn't hear anything, you lied to me.”
“You were screaming so loudly, it would have been hard not to hear. You even shouted something about flying... Tsk tsk.”
“You're still talking!” Bai Ruowei glanced left and right, then quickly moved to cover Mu Sichun's mouth.
Mu Sichun quickly dodged and ran forward.
Bai Ruowei hurriedly followed, and the two weaved through the crowd, causing the carriage to instantly fall into disarray.
Luo Chen glanced at them, popped a piece of salmon into his mouth, and ignored their playful antics.
They were confined to the Train every day, so distracting themselves with some playful fighting wasn't a bad idea.
When women get bored, they tend to overthink. Keeping them busy also contributes to the harmony of the Train, preventing a palace drama from unfolding in this space.
Dongfang Yuyao sat down not far from him, picked up a pea, and put it in her mouth.
“Yu Yao, have all the plants collected this morning been planted?” Luo Chen also picked up a pea. After eating the salmon, his mouth was oily, so eating something vegetarian was just right to cut through the grease.
“Yes! Except for that pot of wisdom tree, which was sent to your bedroom, all the others have been planted.”
“How much of this food have you collected?” Luo Chen pointed to the corn and peas on the table. These all came from those special plants.
“Enough to eat for several days. These plants are amazing; just a little bit is enough to make you full.”
“Then later, send some of the extra ones to Jiang Zhi and the others.” Luo Chen thought for a moment and said.
Jiang Zhi and his group had given him the soil without any bargaining, so he couldn't be too stingy. Give and take would encourage them to continue collecting supplies.
“Okay.” Dongfang Yuyao nodded, put down her chopsticks, and prepared to carry out the task.
After eating a few peas and a few pieces of corn, his stomach quickly felt full.
After lunch, Luo Chen carried the wisdom tree back to his bedroom.
He always had a habit of napping. These past few days, he had been investigating for long hours every night and hadn't rested well. Noon was a good time to catch up.
Placing the wisdom tree on the computer desk, Luo Chen lay down on the bed.
His thoughts sank into his mind, preparing to ask Su Jinxuan about Si Xier.
