185: Three models

After hanging up the phone, Jiang Chen didn't delay and immediately dialed District Committee Secretary's number.

As soon as the call connected, a slightly cautious voice came from the other end: "Chairman Jiang, is there... news?"

"It's good news," Jiang Chen said with a smile in his voice. "The municipal party committee has revoked the transfer order. The factory project in Juzi District remains unchanged, and a capital construction subsidy will be provided to improve freight facilities and ensure transportation efficiency is on par with Kaoyu District."

Silence instantly fell on the other end of the phone. After a few seconds, District Committee Secretary's choked voice, filled with excitement, came through: "Rea... really? Chairman Jiang, I didn't mishear, did I?"

Jiang Chen held his phone and said with a smile, "Secretary Lin, why would I lie to you? Don't worry, the relevant documents will be released tomorrow."

District Committee Secretary didn't doubt him and said excitedly, "Chairman Jiang, on behalf of all the people in the district, I thank you..."

However, before he could finish, Jiang Chen interrupted him with a smile, "Secretary Lin, let's not talk about that. After all, that's the place where I was born and raised. Our ancestors have lived there for generations. Now that I, Jiang Chen, have the ability, I certainly want to give back to my hometown."

"So there's no need for this. Just trouble you to keep a close eye on the project."

"Yes, yes, yes," District Committee Secretary's voice even carried a well-hidden sob. He said firmly, "Don't worry, I guarantee the project will be implemented at an extremely fast pace! I will definitely not let down your good intentions."

Jiang Chen smiled, exchanged a few pleasantries with District Committee Secretary, and then hung up the phone.

District Committee Secretary, after hanging up the phone, exchanged glances with District Mayor, both showing expressions of shock.

"Old... Old Li, did you hear that?" District Committee Secretary's voice still trembled, not yet calmed. "The municipal party committee not only revoked the transfer order but also approved an additional capital construction subsidy. The freight facilities are to be on par with Kaoyu District. This is something even the old leaders couldn't achieve!"

District Mayor's Adam's apple bobbed. He picked up the water glass on the table and took a sip, suppressing the shock in his heart, his eyes filled with disbelief: "Secretary, I heard it."

District Committee Secretary took a deep breath, leaning heavily against the back of his chair, his face still showing shock: "Now I truly understand that we never really saw through Chairman Jiang's background. What kind of power do you think he has? To make the municipal party committee completely change its mind in such a short time, and even provide supporting policies so readily?"

"More than just readily," District Mayor shook his head, put down his water glass, and said with a hint of reverence in his tone, "It seems our Chairman Jiang's connections must reach the heavens... otherwise, it wouldn't be possible to change the will of the municipal party committee in such a short time."

District Committee Secretary nodded, his eyes gradually shifting from shock to determination. He raised his hand and tapped the table, saying, "No matter how powerful Chairman Jiang's connections are, what we can do is keep a close eye on the project. As soon as the documents arrive tomorrow, immediately organize a special team to coordinate. The construction period, quality, and supporting facilities—not a single detail can be ambiguous. We cannot let down Chairman Jiang's good intentions for his hometown."

District Mayor immediately stood up and said with a resounding voice, "Don't worry, I'll go and sort out the project milestones right away, ensuring every step is tightly scheduled. We will definitely not disappoint Chairman Jiang!"

...After Jiang Chen hung up the phone, he picked up the blueprints and documents Chen Yang had sent over.

The designs were created by several designers from foreign car manufacturers, whom Chen Yang had poached at a high price. Following Jiang Chen's vision, they modified and ultimately designed three car models.

Previously, when Chen Yang asked Jiang Chen for his opinion on which car to prioritize building, he almost without hesitation said that sedans should focus on daily use, SUVs should expand into the mid-to-high end, and sports cars should establish the brand.

Now that the blueprints were spread out on the table, his ideas had taken concrete form.

First, the sedan. The sedan is positioned as a mid-to-large size, the closest of the three models to mainstream demand. Its fastback design flows from the body to the roof and down to the trunk, without superfluous angles. It features frameless doors paired with semi-hidden door handles.

The design met Jiang Chen's specific instructions: it had to be attractive and possess its own distinct characteristics.

Judging solely from the design drawings, Jiang Chen felt it could appeal to young people who desire a stylish yet understated look.

The SUV's design is highly recognizable.

From the design drawings, it completely breaks away from the traditional SUV stereotype of a boxy or rounded shape. The body adopts a fastback coupe silhouette without sacrificing rear headroom.

The designers made the roofline gently slope downwards only from the B-pillar, combined with 21-inch petal-style wheels, giving it a luxurious feel without appearing as unapproachable as a supercar.

When Jiang Chen turned to the design drawing of the third model, the sports car, his eyes visibly lit up. It was a two-door convertible sports car. The shark gill air intakes on the front fascia were extremely aggressive, and the rear diffuser and spoiler were automatically adjustable, providing sufficient downforce when driven.

But no matter how good the blueprints looked, pricing was an unavoidable hurdle. There was nothing to say about the sports car; it would definitely start at over a million. Whether it sold well or not was irrelevant; the main thing was to have it.

The SUV targeted the mid-to-high-end demographic, positioned in the 400,000 yuan range, a price point that supported its mid-to-high-end positioning.

However, the sedan made him a bit hesitant. The design was clearly aimed at a young and fashionable audience. If priced too high, young people definitely wouldn't accept it, and how many young people have a lot of money these days? But pricing it too low wouldn't work either, as it would inevitably become a low-end model.

Jiang Chen looked at the sedan design drawing and suddenly smiled, "Really, why am I rushing? It's just a drawing right now."

He closed the blueprints and put them back into the document folder.

Currently, it's just a car model; the actual car hasn't even been built yet, it's an empty shell. Getting bogged down in these details now is just talking on paper.

Pricing can at least wait until Chen Yang's team builds the experimental car, conducts tests, and finally confirms the configuration and calculates the cost. It won't be too late then.

He took out his phone and called Chen Yang, instructing him to start building the experimental car models according to the design drawings. He repeatedly emphasized that safety must be guaranteed, and the car body and materials must comply with safety standards.

Chen Yang also thumped his chest and promised to build the experimental models within a month and to prioritize safety.

Jiang Chen smiled, said he would wait and see, and then hung up the phone.
