1: Chapter 1 Arrives

On the desolate surface of the abandoned planet, fierce winds raged, carrying gravel, while in the lead-gray sky, twisted rays of light heralded some ominous presence.

Abruptly, space seemed to tear open, and a figure clad in black robes tumbled out, crashing heavily onto the ground and kicking up a cloud of dust.

"Cough, cough..."

The figure in black robes struggled to rise, and as the hood slipped off, it revealed a pale, handsome Face—it was Xiang Yan, who had just completed his Transmigration.

He looked around, a flash of confusion in his eyes, which was immediately replaced by cold killing intent.

"Is this... the source of my power?"

Xiang Yan muttered to himself; he could feel an unimaginably vast amount of negative energy surging into his body from all directions, merging with his Soul and constantly strengthening his physical body and willpower.

At the same time, visible black mist emanated from his body; wherever it touched, rocks cracked and the air distorted, as if reality itself were trembling before this power.

As you can see, Xiang Yan is a transmigrator, but unlike other transmigrators, he knows why he underwent Transmigration.

It was quite common: Xiang Yan kicked the bucket after being hit by a truck, after which he was taken away by Black and White Impermanence, marveling at the time that the Underworld actually existed in this world.

Upon arriving at the Underworld, he began the standard procedures until he was suddenly summoned by King Yama.

At that time, Xiang Yan was super excited, thinking his heaven-defying identity was about to be revealed, setting the stage for a classic plot.

Then King Yama said on the spot, "This is the unlucky fellow you found?"

This instantly chilled Xiang Yan, who had just started to feel a bit warm, to the bone.

Before Xiang Yan could react, King Yama slapped the two ghost soldiers who had brought him there across the Face, scolding, "Didn't I say to find an unlucky fellow from the West? Why did you bring one of our own?!"

After some commotion, Xiang Yan finally understood the ins and outs: because the immortal big shots above had lived for too long and were truly bored, they liked to pull some stunts to amuse themselves.

This time, it was because a big shot above, for some reason, came into contact with "Chinese Paladin 3" and thought the Evil Sword Immortal was quite fun, so he replicated him.

As a result, he accidentally messed up; that big shot went broke and finally managed to destroy the Evil Sword Immortal's consciousness, but the remaining main body was a problem.

Although it wasn't impossible to find others to handle it, the problem was that during the mishap, the Evil Sword Immortal had destroyed quite a bit of public property.

Once others were involved, the Jade Emperor would definitely find out, and he would surely get punished; after all, he wasn't that certain monkey who had Nüwa and Bodhi backing him up, allowing him to act recklessly.

So, he wanted to use the Underworld to manipulate things behind the scenes and frame the West for it.

After all, God had already created a Satan, so one more Evil Sword Immortal wouldn't matter, as their functions were practically the same.

Moreover, it's well known that God likes watching creatures fight, unlike over here, where if any problem arises, an immortal is kicked down to the mortal realm to solve it.

As for why he was telling Xiang Yan the truth now, it was because that big shot had already been discovered by the Jade Emperor and was currently getting punished. Of course, he certainly wouldn't tell Xiang Yan about the punishment.

After all, that big shot also cared about Face; if Xiang Yan really found out, he probably wouldn't have a peaceful life for the next several lifetimes.

Then King Yama received the order from the Jade Emperor to deal with this thing. After receiving the order, King Yama almost cursed out loud; after all, this thing was a piece of crap—it wasn't that it couldn't be decomposed, but it was just disgusting and he didn't want to do it.

Just at this moment, King Yama set his sights on Xiang Yan and started gaslighting Xiang Yan.

King Yama told Xiang Yan that he thought Xiang Yan was a man of talent and clearly destined for great things, and it would be a pity to just reincarnate like that. So, he decided to give Xiang Yan a great Opportunity, allowing him to live as long as heaven and earth.

It was just that this Opportunity carried some risk: he would need to go to other planes to undergo tribulations, and he might not be able to return if he wasn't careful. However, even if he couldn't return, the benefits were huge, as he could achieve immortality.

After King Yama shamelessly used a Spell to lower Xiang Yan's intelligence, Xiang Yan agreed immediately.

The subsequent developments are familiar to everyone: with King Yama's help, Xiang Yan underwent Fusion with the Evil Sword Immortal, though a small problem occurred during the process.

After all, Xiang Yan had previously just been an ordinary person, and what was the Evil Sword Immortal? That thing was pure evil, so inevitably, Xiang Yan was affected.

King Yama also noticed this, so after Xiang Yan successfully completed the Fusion, he kicked him out immediately.

As for where he was kicked to, King Yama said he didn't know either; after all, this kind of thing was just a brute-force toss—the farther, the better.

Thus, the scene at the beginning occurred. Of course, our dear protagonist doesn't yet know that he has become an orphan player.

...

Thousands of kilometers away, in an iron fortress, Cassius stood up abruptly. The screen in front of him was displaying the image transmitted back by the probe—a powerful energy fluctuation had appeared on planet KX758 and was still continuously increasing.

"A Special Life Form? Haha, heaven is truly helping me!" A flash of greed crossed Cassius's eyes. As one of the largest warlords on this penal planet, he was constantly searching for an Opportunity to leave, and this sudden energy fluctuation undoubtedly gave him hope.

"Notify everyone, assemble all combat squads, target coordinates..." Cassius's cold voice echoed in the command room. "I want to capture it alive, and then..." He didn't finish the second half of the sentence, but the crazy light flashing in his eyes said everything.

Xiang Yan closed his eyes, his powerful Mental Energy spreading outward. As it covered a wider and wider area, he saw humans struggling to survive, mutated creatures fighting for resources, and also... a torrent of steel approaching him.

"Ants..." Xiang Yan spat out the two words contemptuously, with no fluctuation in his eyes, as if those dozens of armed spacecraft and hundreds of fully armed soldiers were just insignificant dust.

He raised his hand and hooked his index finger lightly, and an invisible energy fluctuation spread out... Cassius sat in the command room chair, watching the light dots getting closer on the screen, as if he had already seen his wonderful future. He picked up his wine glass and drank the scarlet liquid in one gulp. "To my victory..."

"Report! Squad One has lost contact!"

"Report! Squad Three has lost contact! Before the signal disappeared, a huge energy fluctuation was detected!"

The continuous bad news exploded in Cassius's mind like thunderclaps. The wine glass in his hand slipped weakly, and the scarlet wine spilled all over the floor, but it couldn't hide his terror at this moment.

"Impossible! How could this happen!" Cassius couldn't believe that the elite troops he had dispatched had been completely wiped out in just a few minutes, without even managing to scout out what the opponent looked like.

"Could it be a trap set by my old rival?" A terrifying thought welled up in his mind, and Cassius was immediately drenched in cold sweat.

But he quickly dismissed this thought; he knew his old rival well—if he had a Special Life Form, would he still be staying here?

"Retrieve the satellite footage immediately! I want to know exactly what happened there!" Cassius roared hoarsely, a strange irritability beginning to spread deep within him.

Soon, the satellite footage was retrieved, but due to severe energy interference, the image was intermittent, and he could only barely see a few blurred light shadows.

"Zoom in!" Cassius stared intently at the screen.

The next second, he stood up abruptly, his pupils contracting suddenly, as if he had seen something incredibly terrifying.

In the image, a slender figure stood proudly, the wild wind blowing his black robes, making them flutter loudly. He just waved his hand casually, and with a flash of black light, those steel behemoths were like paper, instantly torn apart, crushed, and turned into fragments filling the sky.

"This... what kind of monster is this..." Cassius's voice trembled, and the last shred of luck in his heart was completely shattered. He realized that he had provoked an incredibly terrifying existence this time.

"Deploy 'Sharp Knife'! Go and meet this guy!" Cassius said through gritted teeth, a crazy light flashing in his eyes.

"Sharp Knife" was one of the most elite troops under Cassius.

"This time, I will make you pay the price!" Cassius grinned viciously and picked up the red wine to drink again.

Above the desolate ruins, Xiang Yan slowly opened his eyes, his deep pupils seemingly containing a sea of Chaos stars, mesmerizing and Soul-stirring. He gently clenched his fist, feeling the terrifying power surging endlessly within his body, and a cold curve appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"Is this the power of the Evil Sword Immortal? Truly intoxicating power..."

Xiang Yan muttered to himself, like a child addicted to a new toy. Suddenly, his brows furrowed slightly, and he turned to look into the distance.

"Hmm? Interesting, have ants come to die so soon?"

Several streams of light were speeding towards his direction, and in an instant, they arrived nearby. They were a few steel fighter jets armed to the teeth, with the Cassius Legion's emblem sprayed on their fuselages—a ferocious black scorpion.

"Fire!"

With the command, the weapon Systems on the fighter jets started instantly, and countless laser beams and energy shells poured down like raindrops, completely submerging the area where Xiang Yan was in a sea of fire.

However, when the smoke cleared, the scene of him being blown into fragments as expected did not appear; Xiang Yan's figure still stood proudly, not even his clothes were ruffled. He just waved his hand casually, and those powerful attacks dissipated into nothingness like foam.

"Vulnerable."

Xiang Yan spat out the four words coldly, a flash of disdain in his eyes. The next second, his figure flashed, turning into a black bolt of lightning, and he appeared instantly in front of a fighter jet.

"Crack!"

Accompanied by a teeth-grinding sound of metal twisting, that steel behemoth hadn't even had time to react before it was crushed by Xiang Yan with one hand, turning into a ball of burning scrap metal and falling down.

Seeing this, the remaining fighter jets were terrified, turned their noses, and wanted to escape. However, in the Face of absolute power, all struggles were futile. Xiang Yan's figure flashed in the air like a ghost, and every appearance was accompanied by the destruction of a fighter jet.

In just a few breaths, the elite troops dispatched by Cassius were completely wiped out, with none surviving.

"It seems that there are still quite a few 'surprises' on this planet waiting for me to discover..."

Xiang Yan muttered to himself, his figure slowly disappearing from where he stood.

...

"Damn it! What kind of monster is this!"

Cassius slammed his fist on the table, looking at the last image transmitted back on the screen, his Face livid. In the image, a guy covered in black mist, whose Face could not be seen, easily destroyed his troops; that terrifying power made him feel a deep sense of powerlessness.

"Sir, what should we do now?" a subordinate asked cautiously.

"What to do? Hehe..."

Cassius suddenly sneered, a flash of madness in his eyes. "Although this guy is dangerous, it might just be an Opportunity! If we can capture him and offer him to those above, we can leave this shitty planet!"

"Send people out immediately to secretly track this guy's trail! Remember, don't alert the enemy; as soon as you find him, report to me immediately!"

"Yes, sir!" The subordinate accepted the order and left.

Cassius sat in the chair, dangerous light flashing in his eyes. After thinking for a while, he picked up the communicator and dialed a number.

"Hello, is this Leo? I need you..."

"Beep—"

A busy signal came from the other end of the communicator. Cassius dialed again impatiently, and this time it was connected quickly.

"Hello, who is it, so..."

"Leo, it's me, Cassius." Cassius interrupted without waiting for the other party to finish, speaking very fast. "I need you to help me prepare a batch of goods, the faster, the better."

"Yo, isn't this Boss Cassius? What wind blew you here?" The merchant called Leo had an oily tone, with a bit of teasing. "Whatever goods you want, just say it. As long as you can afford the price, I, Leo, can get anything for you."

"The things I want, of course you can get." Cassius sneered. "I need weapons that can capture powerful energy entities, preferably the kind that can capture them alive. You understand what I mean, right?"

"Capture alive? Energy entity? Tsk tsk..." Leo gasped, his tone full of strong interest. "What big thing are you trying to do? You actually want to use this kind of forbidden weapon?"

"Cut the crap, can you get it or not?" Cassius knocked on the table impatiently; he didn't have time to waste with this mercenary guy.

"Yes! Of course I can!" Leo's tone was excited. "However, the price of this kind of thing is not cheap. You also know that this is..."

"Price is not a problem, I just want the goods." Cassius waved his hand and interrupted Leo directly. "Three days, at most three days, I want to see the goods, otherwise..."

He paused, not continuing, but the threat was self-evident.

"Understood, understood! In three days, the goods will definitely be delivered to your hands!" Leo quickly promised, fearing that he would anger this murderous warlord.

After ending the communication, a look of determination flashed in Cassius's eyes. He muttered to himself, "As long as I catch you, I can leave this shitty place and re-enjoy a wonderful life."

On the other side, after destroying Cassius's troops, Xiang Yan did not rush to leave. He hid his figure and quietly came to the edge of this dilapidated city.

This was a huge slum, full of garbage and sewage, and the air was filled with a nauseating smell. Ragged people walked numbly, their eyes empty, as if they had lost hope in life.

Xiang Yan looked at all this, and a cold curve appeared at the corner of his mouth.

"It's... just perfect..."

PS: The source of the protagonist's power is just to provide a reasonable explanation for the Transmigration and the plot; it has nothing to do with the main storyline of this article and might only be mentioned once at the beginning. To the readers who have expectations for this, I can only say sorry.

As the author is a newcomer, if there are any places where the plot is not handled well, please forgive me. If you point them out, I will try my best to revise them.
