211: Information gathering
In the Void Realm, that belt of shattered meteorites had already transformed into a gladiatorial arena of violent energy.
Two humanoid figures, like two out-of-control baleful stars, stirred up a storm of destruction with every clash.
The great axes swung, bringing forth dull, space-tearing roars, instantly cleaving and shattering the meteorites they touched.
The curved scythes swept past silently, yet they left terrifying trails in the Void Realm, precisely cutting into the gaps in their opponent's defense.
Their limbs were far more numerous than normal, yet they coordinated seamlessly. Each arm seemed like an independently thinking killing machine, pushing the identical weapons in their hands to the absolute limit.
"Boom—!"
With another violent collision, the great axes and curved scythes clashed, bursting with blinding sparks of energy. The shockwave completely obliterated the debris within several hundred meters into nothingness.
The two figures used the recoil force to separate temporarily, standing in a standoff from a distance.
"Haa... haa..." The bloated creature wielding the great axes let out ragged gasps like a worn-out bellows. The flesh piled on his body writhed slightly, and several wounds slashed open by the scythe blades were knitting together at a visible rate, though they left behind eerie, dark cyan marks.
All of his arms gripped the great axes tightly, locking onto the enemy opposite him.
"Hand it over!" he roared, his voice like countless rocks grinding together, carrying an unquestionable barbarity. "The 'token of pioneering'! And your 'Wind Seal'!!"
"Now, immediately!"
Opposite, the relatively "slender" creature, appearing like a hybrid of an insect and a human, had his dark cyan carapace covered in cracks from the great axe slashes, yet his posture still carried a strange elegance and... contempt.
All of his limbs lightly held the curved scythes that resembled crescent moons, with a cold, chilling light flowing over the blades.
Hearing the other's roar, he let out a low, metallic laughter.
"Heh heh... 'token of pioneering'?" He repeated the term, his tone filled with undisguised mockery. "With your writhing mass of fat, you think you deserve to covet it?"
"As for... the 'Wind Seal'?" He tilted his strange head slightly, all the scythes vibrating gently and humming simultaneously. "You cannot take my 'Wind Seal'."
"However..." He changed the subject, his voice suddenly becoming cold and greedy, "I am quite interested in your 'Wind Seal'."
"It belongs to me!"
Before the words had even faded, his figure suddenly blurred, like a ghost merging into the wind. Dozens of scythe shadows, like an interwoven net of death, once again enveloped the bloated body!
"You're courting death!" the great-axe creature roared, swinging all his great axes without showing any weakness, meeting the attack head-on!
A more violent battle erupted once again.
Far away, in that Void Realm twisted by the power of rules.
Xiang Yan floated quietly, like the deepest shadow.
He captured every one of their intermittent roars, attempting to obtain more useful information.
Just as Xiang Yan was working hard to gather intelligence.
The collision between the great axes and the curved scythes did not cease for a moment.
As time passed, the intensity of their battle continued to rise!
The bloated figure wielding the great axes moved with increasing wildness; every slash seemed as if it would smash the Void Realm itself, and as the flesh writhed, it emitted an aura that was primitive and tyrannical.
And the "slender" figure wielding the curved scythes was not to be outdone, fiercely engaging in the exchange of blows.
After one clash, both sides tacitly retreated, and immediately after.
"Hum..."
A strange rhythm began to permeate from both sides simultaneously!
The fluctuation was formless and intangible, yet it carried an indescribable frequency. Like a stone thrown into calm water, it rippled out in invisible waves, rapidly spreading into the surrounding Void Realm.
The moment this fluctuation appeared, Xiang Yan's consciousness core, which had always been as still as an ancient well, stirred slightly.
Immediately after.
A strange change occurred abruptly!
In this absolute vacuum, a place in the Void Realm where no medium should be able to flow...
"Wind..."
"...had risen!"
It was not an illusion, nor was it a disturbance caused by an energy impact.
It was truly... wind!
Tiny cosmic dust, those fragments that had originally been suspended motionless, began to be pulled and driven by an invisible force, swirling and... flowing in this dead-silent Void Realm!
It was just like a breeze blowing across the surface of a planet with an atmosphere.
But this was a vacuum!
This phenomenon, which completely violated most of the physical rules in Xiang Yan's understanding, was happening so realistically before his eyes!
Although this Universe was indeed quite magical, it was certain that, at the very least, there was no wind in a vacuum.
Moreover, this "wind," while weak, carried a kind of... strange "vitality," as if it were not naturally formed, but forcibly "created" by some higher-level power!
Almost the very first moment the "wind" rose.
Xiang Yan's perception, like invisible tentacles, instantly covered a wider area. He began to analyze the cause of this strange change once again.
"Hahaha! Do you feel it? You fool!"
The bloated figure wielding the great axes suddenly let out an even more violent roar, as if he had been encouraged by something!
The strange fluctuation emanating from his body suddenly intensified!
The "wind" that had just been born in the surroundings seemed to have received a summons, beginning to converge around him as the center, and in a very short time, it became incomparably powerful.
"This is the gap!" the great-axe creature roared, his voice filled with the triumph and cruelty of impending victory. "My 'Wind Seal' has reached one percent!"
"And you! You pathetic crawler! Your 'Wind Seal' is merely... a mere one two-hundredth!"
"What right do you have to fight me?!"
"Die... for me!!!"
He raised all of his great axes simultaneously, and carrying that incomparably violent wind, he smashed them down towards his opponent with a boom!
Facing this violent attack, the figure wielding the curved scythes let out an even sharper, even more ear-piercing... sneer.
"Heh heh heh... One percent? Truly... impressive."
His voice was filled with undisguised sarcasm, as if he had heard some huge joke.
"You seem to have... misunderstood one thing."
The insect-like head lifted slightly, its dark cyan carapace shimmering with a cold luster under the energy light.
"My 'Wind Seal' completion rate is indeed... inferior to yours."
He admitted it frankly, but his tone held not the slightest bit of dejection or fear.
"But..."
He changed the subject, and the fluctuation emanating from his body also began to strengthen, but unlike the great-axe creature, his fluctuation seemed more... restrained, yet it carried a certain... aloof, superior air.
The surrounding wind also converged towards him, and the final might was not the slightest bit smaller than his opponent's, even faintly exceeding it by a sliver.
"I possess... the 'token of pioneering'!"
The moment these four words were uttered, all of his scythes hummed simultaneously, and he also brazenly met the attack, carrying the storm.
"Favored... by the Heavens!"
"Your pathetic one percent... is not worth mentioning before me!"
"The one who should die... is you!!"
As the words fell, the weapons of both sides, carrying the storm, collided with a boom.
