21: Chapter 21 I'll help you kill him

"Tang Ruan!"

Lang Lie grabbed her hand, looking at her with concern.

Tang Ruan stared at his face and raised a smile in excitement.

She reached out her other hand and lightly touched his cheek.

The wound on his face shrank slightly in an instant.

Because of her sudden touch, Lang Lie's whole body tensed up.

"What are you doing?" His voice was hoarse.

Tang Ruan suddenly hooked her arms around his neck, forcing him closer.

She wanted to see clearly how the wound was healing.

Her fingertips traced back and forth over the wound on his face.

So, direct contact works better.

Lang Lie lowered his head following her movements, gazing into Tang Ruan's black pearl-like eyes.

The longing of these past few days, like a breached flood, could no longer be contained.

He lowered his head and captured her lips.

Both hands imprisoned her in his embrace.

Giving her no room to retreat.

The kiss deepened...

Tang Ruan was dizzy from the kiss, and out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the wound on his shoulder was now only the size of a fist.

Great!

She responded to him even more passionately.

Tang Ruan kissed him with abandon; this feeling was exactly the same as when she first dreamed of him.

It must be him—Lang Lie.

That's right.

He is the lover from her dreams.

It's just that he has forgotten, or perhaps what she dreamed of was something that will happen in the future.

As Tang Ruan was thinking this, a wave of dizziness suddenly washed over her.

If not for Lang Lie holding her tightly, she would have already fallen to the ground.

"Mistress, what's wrong?"

Lang Lie noticed her abnormality.

He picked her up and placed her gently on the fur blanket.

Suddenly, he noticed that the wound on his shoulder had almost healed.

And Tang Ruan was in a state of extreme weakness, just like that day.

A High-level Beastman can transfer their Energy to others.

After Tang Ruan fainted that day, he not only fed her honey water but also gave her a portion of his Energy.

Perhaps it was because of this behavior that the Beast God felt he loved her enough to sacrifice himself.

Thus, the two were bound together.

Was she also giving him her Energy just now?

But Energy cannot act as a cure.

Besides, she looks so weak, how could she have the ability of a High-level Beastman?

And... why was she willing to sacrifice herself for him...

He is only one of her Beast Husbands; he should be the one to be sacrificed.

Furthermore, she hasn't even acknowledged his status yet...

Lang Lie felt incredibly heartbroken.

He leaned down and kissed her lips again, deciding to return the Energy to her.

Tang Ruan opened her eyes groggily and saw the wound on his shoulder—it had returned!

And warm Energy was spreading through her whole body along with his kiss.

What is going on?

And the wound is getting bigger and bigger!

Although she didn't understand what was happening, Tang Ruan vaguely guessed it must have something to do with this kiss!

She wanted to push Lang Lie away.

But she forgot again that there was a huge disparity in their strength...

"Hiss..."

Lang Lie suddenly raised his head, looking at her in confusion.

There was a bit of bright red blood on his lips.

It was from Tang Ruan biting him.

"Don't you dare kiss me again!" She shouted with a guilty conscience, taking the opportunity to crawl out from under him.

Lang Lie's expression turned hurt in an instant.

Could it be that her responding to him was only because she wanted to help him heal?

And does she use this method to heal other Beastmen too?

Tang Ruan saw his expression and knew he had misunderstood.

She hurriedly explained, "I don't hate you, it's just that treatment is more important right now. We can talk about other things later, okay?"

If she didn't help him heal today, he would have to go out with his wounds again tomorrow.

Lang Lie suddenly sneered, asking with some self-deprecation, "Other things... what things?"

She was merely trying to delay time to get rid of him.

"I... things between the two of us."

"Why not talk about it now?"

He pulled her back into his arms again, his chin affectionately rubbing against her shoulder.

As long as he could stay with her, even one more minute or second would be good.

Tang Ruan took a deep breath.

"Lang Lie, the reason I didn't want to accept you before was because I was afraid of becoming a Mistress..."

Lang Lie's movements froze.

Tang Ruan continued, "My father passed away when I was very young. My mother's subsequent Beast Husband was very bad to both my mother and me..."

Tang Ruan's voice lowered as she recalled the good times with her father, and the feeling of her stepfather lashing her with a belt.

And her mother, who fawned over men.

Being pressed onto the table and beaten, only for her to say the next day that this was called "manliness."

Tang Ruan didn't say anything more.

But from her subconsciously tensing body, Lang Lie felt her fear.

How could there be a Male Beastman in the world who dares to abuse a Mistress and her cubs?

"Where is he? I will kill him for you."

His voice wasn't loud, but it was bone-chillingly cold.

Tang Ruan shook her head, "They are already dead."

Let's just pretend they are all dead!

She never intended to return to her original world anyway.

It's just that, what if she goes back one day? What would happen to Lang Lie...

"Are you afraid I will be like your mother's Beast Husband?" He asked cautiously.

"Yes!"

Tang Ruan's words were half-true and half-false.

She didn't dare let Lang Lie know that the Marmot Beastmen had deliberately kept things from her, fearing he would hold a grudge.

Lang Lie suddenly fell silent.

After a long while, his voice carried a hint of anger, "What do you take me for?"

Tang Ruan: ...

Tang Ruan said nervously, "I didn't mean that. I absolutely trust you and respect you. You deserve the best! If one day you don't like me anymore, I can send you to the person you like."

To be honest, Tang Ruan was still a little afraid of him.

The disparity in strength between the two of them was like a chick and a big gray wolf.

Past experiences made her pessimistic about relationships.

So, it was better to be clear first.

If he changed his heart one day, she could at least save her own life.

Lang Lie's hand tightened in front of her, as if he had made some sort of resolution.

"That day will never come."

Tang Ruan smiled; whatever he said was fine.

Since love had come, she should just enjoy the present! Future things can be dealt with later.

"Will you return to the Wolf Tribe with me?"

Lang Lie's voice had just fallen when a commotion came from the cave entrance.

"Still haven't found him?"

"No, it's already dark, what should we do!"

"Have you seen Mao Mao?"

"No! I heard he was with a Wolf Tribe cub!"

Tang Ruan and Lang Lie walked out of the cave.

Mao Mao's father, Mu Shu, was pacing in circles, "Mao Mao said he was waiting for a friend. He kept making a fuss about not wanting to come back, and I had to carry him back. Who knew, I looked away for a second, and he was gone."

Mushus Wife kicked him in the calf.

Mu Shu immediately knelt on the ground.

"You can't even look after a cub! What use are you to me!"

Potato Mother looked at her son kneeling on the ground and frowned, "Let's split up and search!"

"The Wolf Tribe will also help," Lang Lie said.

Potato Mother glanced at Lang Lie; she had just rejected the Wolf Tribe and didn't want to owe them any favors.

Lang Lie hurriedly said, "The Wolf Tribe has excellent night vision. Since the cold wave, many monsters living in the caves have come out to forage; finding the person is more important."

"Mom! Mom!" Mu Shu tugged at the hem of Potato Mother's leather garment.

"Mao Mao might be eaten by a monster!"

"Fine." Potato Mother nodded slightly to Lang Lie.

Lang Lie had brought Lang Chi and Lang Feng today.

"Lang Feng, go back to the tribe first and notify everyone to help."

"Okay."

Upon receiving Lang Lie's order, Lang Feng ran out like the wind.

His grey-brown figure quickly blended into the night.

Many Marmot Beastmen exclaimed.

"Whoa!"

"That's too fast!"

Mushus Wife's gaze lingered for a long time in the direction where Lang Feng disappeared.

If only her Beast Husband were as capable, that would be great.

Tang Ruan's impression of Lang Feng was still stuck at their first meeting.

His build was relatively small among the Wolf Tribe.

She didn't expect him to run so fast.

No wonder he could survive in such a cruel environment.

Lang Lie transformed into his Beast Form, and Tang Ruan climbed onto his back.

When the group arrived by the stream, Lang Feng happened to run back.

"Chief, everyone has been notified to search!"

"Good."

"There's one more thing," Lang Feng's face showed worry, "Xingxing has gone missing."
