42: Chapter 42 I'd be willing to become one with you
Lang Lie called over several capable females. Following Tang Ruan's instructions, they went into the forest to search for items.
By evening, Lang Lie tied up two cloth bags and placed them aside. He crouched down next to Tang Ruan, took the small branch from her hand, and whittled it into a Y-shape as she requested.
"Tie this on, and the slingshot is done." Tang Ruan tied a piece of animal ligament onto it, picked up a small pebble from the ground, and placed it on the slingshot. She aimed at a small bird in the tree. "Whoosh!" It was a direct hit!
The beastmen cheered. "The Witch Doctor is amazing!" "What is this? I want to learn too!" a Baby shouted. "The Witch Doctor is so amazing!" Tang Ruan smiled awkwardly.
Because only she had seen it—there seemed to have been a pale blue ray of light just now. It had knocked the bird down first. It must have been the Baby. He really was giving face to his old mother.
"This slingshot is very accurate; we can keep it for the Baby to play with." Lang Lie looked at her, a smile playing on his lips. She didn't know if he had discovered her little secret. Tang Ruan hurriedly changed the subject.
"Before we set off, Lang Lie will use his Supernatural Ability to freeze honey water into balls. Everyone practice hard; the honey balls must be shot as far as possible." "Understood!" Lang Chi and the others replied in unison.

Under the cover of night, outside Dongdong Valley, near the dead volcano, a group of beastmen lay on the ground resting. Suddenly, several "meteors" streaked across the sky. Amber-colored balls landed among the beastmen.
The farthest one hit the Lion King directly on the nose. "Who is it?" He let out a roar, and the beastmen around him woke up. The beastman responsible for protecting the Lion King pounced forward. A moment later, he pulled a sticky, ice-cold little ball from beneath him.
"What is this?" the old Lion King asked. The beastman squeezed the little ball, looked at it for a while, and sniffed it. Then, caught off guard, he took a lick. "It's honey."
"It must be the Bear Tribe!" The muscles on the old Lion King's terrifying face twitched. "Just because we ate three of them yesterday, they're using such low-level tactics to retaliate against us." "There are many more around," the beastman said.
"Ignore them. Go stand guard outside. If you see anyone throwing things, kill them and bring them back for a meal." "Yes!" The beastman said, transforming into a strong male lion. Just as he was about to leave, the Lion King called him back. "Right! I want to eat fox meat tomorrow."
"There's only one Baby left." The Lion King smacked his lips regretfully. They had encountered the fox tribe on the way and abducted them as emergency rations. He hadn't expected them to be eaten so quickly. If he had known, he wouldn't have thrown that one down. He hadn't seen him run back, so he was probably already dead from the fall.
"Kill it tomorrow; eat it fresh." After giving the order, the Lion King went back to sleep. In the grass in the distance, Lang Lie and Lang Chi simultaneously opened their bags from different directions. A rustling sound came from the bags. A dense swarm of insects crawled out.
As soon as the insects smelled the insect-repellent herbs on them, they scrambled frantically in the opposite direction. Before long, the sounds of beastmen came from the volcanic crater. "Damn it! What's biting me?" "Why are there so many bugs?" "It's hot, of course there are bugs, don't make such a fuss—ah! Why do these bugs bite so painfully!"
By the second half of the night, several beastmen were breathing heavily. "I think I've been poisoned by fire toxin..." "Me too... I feel like I'm dying..." The lion beastman responsible for guarding the fox tribe Baby lay on the ground, panting heavily. "You! Hurry... bring me some water!"
A teenage boy with orange hair, about fifteen years old, immediately scrambled up and rummaged through the lion beastman's pack. Suddenly, the pack moved. He was so scared he sat down on the ground with a thud. Immediately after, the pack was overturned. A marmot's head poked out.
"Follow me quickly!" the marmot said in a shrill voice. The boy looked back, immediately transformed into his Beast Form, and followed the marmot into the tunnel. His Beast Form was not much bigger than the marmot's. It was likely due to long-term malnutrition. They moved freely through the narrow tunnel.
They didn't know how long they had been running before they finally arrived in a wide cavern. "Big Brother!" The little fox saw Hu Mo and immediately transformed into human form and pounced on him. "I thought I would never see you again! Sister was eaten, Aunt was eaten, everyone..."
Hu Mo hugged him tightly. "I know. So, you must live on." He pointed to another opening connected to the tunnel. "Run along this path; the end is the Chaos Beast City. It's dangerous there, but it's your only chance to survive." "Big Brother, aren't you coming with me?"
Understanding what he meant, Hu Che held him tightly, refusing to let go. "I still have very important things to do." He looked at Mushus Wife. In the darkness, Mushus Wife lowered her head shyly.
Hu Che looked at him reluctantly, his golden-orange eyes like two little suns in the darkness. They illuminated all the darkness and misery Hu Mo had endured over these past days. "Live well; there will come a day when you wait for me." After he finished speaking, he pushed Hu Che away firmly.
Hu Che looked back once. He ran forward at full speed. He believed in his Big Brother. Since his Big Brother told him to wait, he would wait in Chaos Beast City forever and ever.
After Hu Che disappeared from sight, Mushus Wife walked up to him shyly. Her fingers trailed across Hu Mo's chest. "You promised that if I helped you rescue your brother, you would go back to Dongdong Valley with me to live a good life, and you even said that tonight you would..."
Her fingers hooked onto his waistband and tugged. Hu Mo suddenly grabbed her hand. "You want to mate with me? You're not worthy!" Mushus Wife's expression stiffened.
A smile curled on the corner of Hu Mo's mouth, neither genuine nor mocking. "Back then, the Merfolk Princess wanted to trade an island for me to be her Beast Husband. My father didn't even agree. He thought what she offered was too little. What do you think you are?"
"You... you..." Mushus Wife was so angry she couldn't speak. She lived a life in Dongdong Valley where she was adored by all; she was the only one who rejected male beasts, so how could any male beast dare to speak to her like this?
"However... for the sake of you saving my brother and telling me the route into the valley, I am actually willing to become one with you." As he said this, he reached out and gripped her neck. His thumb brushed over her lips.
Mushus Wife's breathing quickened. She had never experienced such a dangerous and thrilling sensation. She even forgot the insulting words Hu Mo had just said to her. "Okay! Then hurry up, I can't wait any longer." She panted excitedly.
The next second, Hu Mo suddenly transformed into his Beast Form. He bit through her neck in one bite. A chewing sound echoed in the darkness. He would absolutely not leave his shame in this world. And he would absolutely not let his family die in vain...

Tang Ruan's plan was a complete success. The beastmen outside Dongdong Valley were either dead or had fled after being bitten by venomous insects that came from "who knows where." Only the strongest Lion Clan remained in place.
"If you ask me, we should just leave too. We, the Lion Clan, are so powerful, why are we guarding such a small place? Is the prey inside better to eat than beastmen?" "You only know how to eat!" another lion beastman said with disdain. "The Lion King is old; do you really think he came here to live in seclusion?"
"Then what else?" The other lion beastman rolled his eyes. "Remember the 'Beast God Painting'?" "You mean the legendary stone wall left behind by the Beast God?" "Yes! What's painted on it is this place. It is said that the most powerful monsters in the Beast World are imprisoned here. Whoever can tame them will be able to help you conquer the entire Beast World."
"The Lion King has such great ambition! But how can he be sure that the monsters will listen to him?" "We, the Lion Clan, are descendants of the Beast God. The monsters listen to the Beast God, so naturally, they will listen to the Lion King." The most powerful beastmen in the world are the Lion Clan. They are the descendants of the Beast God. This legend has long circulated among the lion beastmen. They believe in it deeply.
"Hmph! When that time comes, what will the Snake Tribe amount to?" The Lion Clan originally did whatever they wanted in the Beast World. But this generation's Snake King was quite formidable and had established many rules. Unfortunately, they were no match for the Snake Tribe. It was incredibly frustrating.
"Smell that, what is that scent? Achoo!" The beastman who had just spoken suddenly sneezed. "It hurts! My eyes hurt so much! My body hurts too!" The other lion beastman was already jumping up in pain. A thin red mist drifted slowly toward them with the strong wind...
