Chapter 135: Telekinesis Limit

Since awakening his ability, Liam hadn’t truly explored it. Yes, he had used it for minor conveniences — levitating objects, moving things without effort — and of course during his desperate battle against the Ironblood Bear.But aside from that, he had never once unleashed his telekinesis without restraint, never tested the limits of what his body, mind, and talent could handle.

But that was going to change.

Holding Silverleaf loosely in his hand, Liam tightened his grip once before letting go. The blade floated upward, held aloft by the invisible grip of his will. It hovered steady, the faint edge catching what little light the Dimensional Space had to offer.

"Let’s begin," Liam smiled.

He turned away from his workstation — the area where his three most valuable pieces of equipment were neatly arranged: the molecular assembler, the molecular analyzer, and the national data center–grade laptop. These weren’t ordinary tools; they were the foundation stones of his empire.

He couldn’t afford to risk them.

Yes, he has more than enough money now to replace even the three equipment. But recklessness wasn’t his style. If he was going to go all out, he needed distance.

The barren expanse of the Dimensional Space stretched endlessly in all directions

Silverleaf floated beside him as he moved, the sword gliding smoothly through the empty air like a faithful companion.

After a few minutes, impatience stirred in him. He still had far to go, and walking felt too slow. Liam grabbed Silverleaf out of the air, held it for a moment, he lowered himself into the runner’s stance, every muscle coiled like a spring.

He counted silently. Three. Two. One.

And then he exploded forward. The sound cracked through the Dimensional Space like a cannon blast.

The sound was thunderous, a booming crack that rippled through the dry plain. The ground fractured under the pressure of his first stride, dust exploding behind him in violent plumes.

Even with the Dimensional Space’s thin atmosphere, his acceleration tore through the air, leaving shockwaves in his wake. The thin air tore against his skin in sheets, howling past his ears.

This was the second time Liam had truly tested his raw speed. His Gear Glass display blinked with data, courtesy of Lucy’s tracking.

174 mph.

A grin split his face. He leaned forward, pumping harder, and the numbers climbed.

It climbed way past 200mph and was still increasing. Liam didn’t slow down as he continued pushing himself, curious to find out the limit of his speed.

The plains blurred into indistinct streaks of gray and black. The sound became a constant roar, shockwaves rippling in his wake with each thunderous footfall. Loose stones shattered beneath his steps, exploding outward like shrapnel.

He continued to push himself even further. His muscles surging but his breath remained steady and calm.

He started feeling the strain when his speed reached 300mph, as it started becoming increasingly difficult for him to increase it. He could feel the resistance, with his body screaming that he was nearing the edge.

But Liam didn’t give up, ignoring the warning as he pushed, harder and harder, every muscle fiber burning, every nerve firing like lightning, forcing his speed to continue increasing until it finally settled at 320mph.

He knew that this was his current limit as no matter how much he pushed, strained, no matter how he poured his will into his body, it didn’t climb higher.

Even then, he didn’t stop. He maintained the blistering pace for over an hour, tearing across the wasteland like a storm.

By Lucy’s calculations, he had been running for more than a hour and had already covered the equivalent of the entire sprawl of Los Angeles and back, yet when he finally stopped, he wasn’t even winded. No ragged breath or even the faint feeling of exhaustion.

All he was feeling was just raw exhilaration.

"What are my limits, really?" He laughed softly to himself, stretching his shoulders. The thought thrilled him.

Satisfied with the distance from his workstation, Liam turned his attention to the next phase.

Silverleaf floated before him once more, its edge gleaming faintly as it spun lazily in the air.

But Liam wasn’t satisfied with simple levitation. He needed destruction. He needed to push his telekinesis into chaos.

He raised his leg high, then slammed it into the ground with everything he had.

Boom!

The impact thundered across the barren valley. The stone beneath his foot cracked, splintering into jagged fractures that raced outward. Shards and dust burst into the air as rocks tumbled from the force.

Again he stomped.

Boom!

The cracks deepened, spreading wide, until the ground gave way into a shallow crater. Dust plumed upward, hanging thick in the still air.

Liam exhaled, feeling quite pleased.

Now for something bigger.

He extended his hand. At once, dozens of stones ripped free from the ground around him, hovering in a wide circle. Pebbles to small boulders rose like puppets on invisible strings, spinning slowly at first, then faster.

The rocks orbited him like planets, grinding against one another with sharp, grating sounds. The pressure mounted in his mind, with a heaviness behind his eyes. His jaw clenched as he fought to stabilize them.

But he wanted more, as he pushed himself even harder. He intends to see the limits of his superpower and he wasn’t going to allow this slight discomfort to stop him.

The ground shuddered as several enormous slabs of stone tore free, each the size of a small car. They hovered unsteadily, trembling in the grip of his will. Sweat trickled down his temple as the strain escalated. His temples throbbed and his vision blurred for a moment.

His mind screamed at him to release them, but Liam refused. His teeth bared as he forced his will outward, balancing the colossal boulders against the hundreds of smaller stones already spinning.

Slowly, painstakingly, the formation stabilized into a storm of stone circling him like blades around a god of war.

The sight alone would have driven ordinary men to their knees.

After a few minutes he reached his absolute limit as blood started trickling down his nose. With a final exhale, he clenched his fist.

BOOM!

The storm erupted, as stones of all sizes shot outward in every direction, detonating into the wasteland like artillery fire.

Explosions tore the ground apart, geysers of dust and debris rising high. Craters pockmarked the plain as shockwaves rattled through the air.

The storm was gone in seconds and silence returned, broken only by the very faint patter of settling dust.

Liam’s chest rose and fell. His body was fine — strong, stable, unshaken. But his mind trembled violently, his thoughts quivering at the edge of collapse. His temples throbbed as though someone had driven nails into them.

Still, he was smiling brightly because he had done it. He had discovered his limits. For now, at least.

Liam lowered his hand, exhaling slowly. He has already accessed his telekinesis and its limit. He could now control multiple objects at once, their combined weight surpassing ten tons.

Not only that but he seems to have something called a telekinetic sense, which allows him to "feel" the outlines of objects around him, giving him a 360° awareness of his surroundings.

His current limit with this ability was currently a perception radius of 20m. This means that actually "see" 20m around him even with his eyes closed.

Another ability Liam noticed he has, was being able to create a telekinetic field or shield made of compressed force around him.

The field can be focused just around him or spread as wide as the range of his telekinetic sense.

Liam currently has no idea how strong the field is but with the force he’s feeling in it, he feels that it should be strong enough to block a bullet. He feels that next time, he should test the field ability to see its limit.

Though the major thing he feels he’s still lacking is lacking is more finer control of his telekineses when controlling multiple large objects.

But that would be for another time as he has strained his head too much for that today. He decided to rest for a while to allow his brain recover.

He clean his bleeding nose and sat for a few minutes, letting the storm inside his mind quiet. His breathing slowed, the tremors fading.

Then, at last, he turned back to Silverleaf. The sword floated before him once more.

Liam extended his hand, pulling it gently into his grasp.

"Now, let’s see what one can do with an all-ecompassing weapons talent," he muttered to himself.
