Chapter 338: The New Product

Liam appeared in the foyer of Bellemere Mansion.Mason, Nick, Evelyn, and the other maids were already waiting for him. They had been standing in formation for nearly ten minutes the moment Daniel notified them of Liam’s return, and that he wasn’t too far from home.

But even with all the preparation in the world, nothing could prepare someone for a person who just... materialized into the room out of thin air.

A faint ripple of shock ran through them, but to their credit, they hid it well, as Daniel had drilled them relentlessly on self-control and composure.

"Welcome home, sir," Mason said with a bow.

"Welcome back, Mr. Liam," Evelyn added, her voice warm but steady.

The others bowed deeply in unison.

"Hey, Evelyn I’m back," he smiled.

Despite their training, the maids were exchanging glances and they were glad to see him again. The mansion had been too quiet without him.

Evelyn stepped forward. "Sir, dinner is ready. If you’re hungry...?"

"I’ll have dinner. Thank you," Liam nodded.

He really was hungry. He had spent most of the day exploring the Grand Canyon and later watching the world fall apart over Lucid, while seated at the edge of it. The idea of real food sounded... comforting.

He walked toward the dining hall, the soft echo of his footsteps bouncing off the tall ceilings.

Evelyn had prepared a welcome-back feast.

Roast lamb glazed with herbs. Creamy mashed potatoes. Seared salmon. Fresh salads, warm bread, soups, desserts. It was an entire spread that looked like something served for royalty.

"You didn’t have to go all out," Liam said with a small smile as he sat.

Evelyn smiled back, a faint blush on her cheeks. "We wanted to. You haven’t eaten a home-cooked meal in weeks."

Liam didn’t argue, as he simply ate. Warm food... familiar seasoning... the simple comfort of being home.

He hadn’t realized how much he missed this.

When he finished, he set down his fork and exhaled softly.

"Thank you, Evelyn. Really. I missed your cooking."

Her expression brightened instantly. "We missed you too, sir. The house has been too quiet without you."

"I’ll try not to disappear for a month next time," Liam chuckled lightly.

He stood, thanked them again, and headed upstairs.

He opened the door to his bedroom and stepped inside. He walked into the bathroom to wash up for the night.

A few minutes later, Liam finished washing up and walked back into his room, towel-drying his hair. He climbed into bed and let his body sink into the mattress he hadn’t felt in weeks.

He stared up at the familiar ceiling of Bellemere Mansion—the one he hadn’t seen in so long—and a small warmth settled in his chest.

He really had missed this.

He had missed the clean scent of the sheets. The perfect softness of the duvet. And especially this king-sized bed, which felt like it was designed specifically for him, hugging his weight in all the right ways.

He stretched slightly, shoulders relaxing into the pillows. Tomorrow was going to be a big day, as he will be taking a tour around the starship.

Even for someone like him, the thought made his heart thrum with excitement.

As his mind drifted lazily, another thought surfaced and he thought he should check on the upcoming products that Lucy and his family office plans to release soon.

He reached to the nightstand, picked up his Lucid, and slid it on.

"Lucy" he called me, and she responded instantly.

"Yes, master."

"What’s the first product we’re planning to release?"

"Daniel and I discussed it. We decided the first move will be the internet connection infrastructure."

Liam’s interest was piqued when he heard this.

"Internet? Why that first?"

"Because the quantum ecosystem you intend to build will collapse if it’s built on Earth’s current bandwidth limitations. You need a digital foundation worthy of your future plans," Lucy replied.

That made sense, Liam nodded slowly.

He would indeed experience a lot of limitations if he goes with the current limited internet speed on Earth.

"Our goal is simple: take over the telecommunications and internet sector entirely. The first step is replacing global internet services," Lucy continued explaining.

"Replacing," Liam repeated.

"Correct.

"Alright. Explain."

"We will release internet with a minimum speed of one terabyte per second."

"One TBps... minimum," Liam asked in slight surprise.

He knew Lucy never exaggerated. But hearing that number casually tossed out still made him pause.

"And the upper limit?" he asked.

"Unlimited."

Liam froze for half a second.

"...Unlimited. As in actual unlimited?"

"Yes," Lucy replied.

Liam let out a breathless laugh.

"That’s... insane. No one on Earth is going to believe that."

If the world heard that, it would go insane. No one would believe it for a second. They’d call it a joke, a scam, outright impossibility—even if the claim came from Nova Technologies.

Because how do they plan to achieve something like that? Lucid had already broken the limits of science, but this... this didn’t just break the rules. It spat on them and rewrote the book entirely.

"Daniel reacted exactly the same way," Lucy laughed gently.

Liam rubbed his forehead. "I trust you. But unlimited internet speed is... beyond unreasonable.

"Still, I’m looking forward to it.But there’s a problem. Even the best phones and devices can’t even handle 3GBps, how do you plan to surpass that technological limitation?" He asked

"I already solved that problem long ago by creating a device similar to a router, but infinitely more advanced than anything on Earth. It can handle speeds of 1 TBps and even higher, with no upper limit. infinite. It also allows the users to connect across planetary distances," Lucy explained.

"Planetary distances?" Liam sat up slightly when he heard this.

This is another groundbreaking part of the to-be-released internet infrastructure.

"Yes. Anyone linked to the device can use the connection anywhere in the world. Even if they are thousands of kilometers away, the speed will never drop."

"No distance limit? No loss of speed?" Liam asked, with a raised brow.

"Correct, master."

He couldn’t help the small grin that formed at the corner of his lips.

"That’s actually... incredible."

"The device integrates fully with Lucid and only someone with the device can access the router’s settings to retrieve its Wi-Fi password," Lucy explained.

"Good security," Liam said.

"There will be two subscription tiers at launch: Personal and Household," Lucy continued explaining.

Liam frowned slightly. "Why bother with a personal tier if household already exists? It kind of sounds redundant."

"Because the personal plan allows the lowest price point. It supports up to ten simultaneous connections. The household tier supports thirty and can reach up to 5 TBps."

"And the prices?"

"Personal: $19.9 per month. Household: $39.9 per month."

Liam nodded in understanding. He understood that Lucy was intentionally keeping it cheap so adoption would spread like wildfire. A smart move. A dangerous move, too, because the telecom industry would not survive this.

"And the hardware cost?"

"$500. There’s no need for installation, wiring, charging or electricity."

"So people just buy it, activate it, and connect?"

"Exactly. Buy the device, pay for the plan of your choice through their Lucid, access the router’s settings, retrieve its WiFi password, connect and start using the internet," Lucy explained.

Liam leaned back again, really impressed with the idea that Lucy and Daniel had come up with.

"So, the only restriction is that they must own a Lucid first?" Liam asked.

"Yes, master."

"Nice. Smart way to boost adoption."

"The device will be released alongside the next 3,000 Lucid units next month. Only 1,000 units of the router will be available initially."

Liam thought for a moment, then nodded decisively.

"Do it. Make the announcement and release the detailed information about the device. Let’s give the world time to panic properly."

"I will prepare the announcement immediately," Lucy said.

"And Lucy?"

"Yes?"

"You’re doing good work."

"Thank you, master. Goodnight," Lucy said, with a bright smile spreading across her face.

"Goodnight," Liam said, removed his Lucid and set it back on the nightstand.

He lay there quietly, thinking about the new product.

A home device that could produce unlimited internet speed. A service that ignored distance, physics, and infrastructure. A router that didn’t need power or cables. It’s a system that would crush telecommunications overnight.

The governments, corporations, intelligence agencies and telecom monopolies...

They were going to panic. And they are not going to do it mildly. They were going to implode.

The world would definitely be in chaos by the time he wakes up tomorrow morning and he’s really looking forward to it.

His smile widened slightly as he imagined the chaos, the emergency meetings, the screaming executives, the frantic phone calls to experts who wouldn’t have any answers.

"What are they going to do this time?" he murmured.

His curiosity burned warmly in his chest.

But the softness of the mattress, the warmth of the blankets slowly pulled his thoughts into silence.

His eyelids grew heavy and he slowly drifted gently into sleep.
