Chapter 218: Visiting The Magic Universe

Liam didn’t immediately leave the Dimensional Space after the sign-in. There were still things he needed to take care of.The first was the planting of the Fusang Tree Seed.

"System, where should I plant it?" He asked.

[Plant the Fusang Tree Seed near the Spirit Lake where Yanxia is cultivating.]

"By the lake then," Liam said softly.

Without wasting time, he picked up the seed and rose into the air and flew towards the lake.

After a few minutes of flight, he began to feel that familiar wave of heat rolling through the air, though this time it was far more intense.

The air shimmered, and molten gold danced across the horizon. But despite the temperature, Liam felt no discomfort. Because of his bond with Yanxia, the heat washed over him like the embrace of an old friend.

When he arrived, the once-lake was now a crater of radiance. The vast sphere of golden-red fire that had enveloped Yanxia had grown even brighter since the last time he was here.

Even at this distance, the heat could melt steel, but to Liam, it was warmth.

He landed a short distance away, the ground beneath his boots glowing faintly red from the heat. The Spirit Lake’s once-clear waters were now evaporated, replaced by an ocean of shimmering spiritual mist.

"She’s solidifying her cultivation faster. When she’d done, she will probably be at the Golden Immortal Realm, perfected stage." Liam said quietly.

The system said that the newborns of her race takes decades to solidify their cultivation. He estimated, by the time she finished solidifying her foundation, four to five months would pass on Earth—but in this realm, that meant nearly two decades.

Liam smiled at the thought of how Yanxia would look when she’s done solidifying her cultivation. What her human form would look like.

He hopes it’s a little girl, as she would be the first member of his family and he wants to feel what it like to take care of a younger sibling.

He crouched beside the crater and dug into the earth with his bare hands. The soil yielded easily to his strength, parting like soft clay. He dug a shallow pit about a foot deep and gently placed the Fusang Tree Seed inside.

The seed looked utterly unremarkable—dull brown, faintly rough, without even a glimmer of energy. Anyone else might have mistaken it for an ordinary stone.

But Liam knew better, as he covered the hole and brushed the dust from his palms, standing tall again.

For a moment, he simply stood there, the light from Yanxia’s flame painting his silhouette in gold.

"Grow well too," he said softly, gazing at the ground where he had buried the seed.

He turned toward the blazing sun that was Yanxia and smiled with quiet pride before taking flight again.

Liam wasn’t returning to the obsidian table. There was something else that had caught his attention earlier—something he had seen while flying to the lake.

The Heavenly Scriptures Pagoda.

Even from afar, it had stunned him—an edifice of divine craftsmanship rising from the landscape like the spine of creation itself.

Now, as he approached, its full majesty unfolded before him.

It wasn’t impossibly tall—only nine levels—but each level was massive, stretching wide enough to house a small palace. The Pagoda’s structure shimmered with faint celestial light. Its walls seemed carved from an alloy of gold and jade.

The closer he got, the more Liam’s breath caught in his chest. He landed gently before its grand entrance. Two enormous bronze doors loomed before him, engraved with nine ancient symbols—each one representing a Heaven.

He pressed his hand to the cool metal and the doors opened soundlessly.

Liam stepped inside, and the vastness that greeted him stole his breath.

The interior was much larger than the exterior suggested—spatially folded, he realized. The foundation floor alone stretched wider than five family sized bungalows combined. Rows of floating bookshelves lined the walls, filled with books, jade slips and glowing scripture tablets.

"It’s even more magnificent inside," he murmured.

He accessed the information in his head about the Heavenly Scriptures Pagoda. While the description already tells him that it wasn’t merely a library—he realised that it was more of a living archive, a structure connected to the laws of cultivation itself. Each of its nine levels—or Nine Heavens—served as an independent dimension, housing all knowledge of a specific cosmic tier.

The foundation floor was meant for those in the early stages: Body Tempering, Qi Refinement, Foundation Establishment. The First Heaven opened to Golden Core, Nascent Soul, and Soul Formation cultivators. And so on, until the Ninth Heaven, accessible only to those who stood at the peak of the Divine Realm—Saint Realm, Great Saint Realm, Saint Emperor Realm.

Every level offered something unique—cultivation rooms, alchemy furnaces, enlightenment chambers where time itself moves as fast as the occupant wants or as the floor allows.

"It’s a complete ecosystem for ascension," Liam said under his breath, as he continued going through the information

The thought made him smile. He could already imagine training future disciples here—teaching, refining, creating. A sect born of divine legacy, nurtured under his rule.

He wanted to explore more, to step into the higher floors and see what divine secrets lay within, but he restrained himself. There would be time for that later.

He turned and exited the Pagoda, and the doors closed softly behind him.

Outside, the endless expanse stretched before him once more.

The next on Liam’s list was the need to terraform the Dimensional Space—to breathe weather, wind, and water into it. To make it capable of hosting true life.

That task belonged to Lucy but she was busy, buried in the ongoing construction of the starship and other projects. Liam decided not to disturb her yet.

"Later. Once the ship’s ready," he murmured.

He turned his attention to the final task on his list—the one he’d been anticipating since morning; visiting the Magic Universe.

Standing a short distance from the Pagoda, Liam looked up into the empty sky of the Dimensional Space and spoke aloud.

"System. I want to visit the Magic Universe."

Immediately, the world around him rippled and reality folded.

The next moment, Liam found himself standing in the void again.

He remembered this sensation. It was the same when he first crossed into the Cultivation Universe.

Only this time, the void wasn’t empty. Far ahead, something shimmered in his vision.

A tree—colossal beyond comprehension — towered in the distance. Its branches spread across infinity, luminous and alive, while roots thicker than mountains was plunged into a thousand worlds below.

Liam’s eyes widened. He didn’t breathe.

For a brief moment, he was certain—he was looking at the true body of the World Tree.

A primal axis that linked realities together.

Before he could even blink, the image faded—the tree dissolving into the void like a mirage.

But the afterimage burned in his mind.

"So that’s the World Tree..." he whispered, his voice trembling with awe. "The root of all magic."

Excitement surged through him. His heart raced like it hadn’t in a long time. He wanted to see more—to understand how deep that network went, how far its roots stretched.

Liam hovered there, scanning them one by one.

"I want a modern world," he murmured, "something post-apocalyptic... with a surviving civilization"

The problem was, from this vantage point, he couldn’t see enough detail to distinguish them.

He sighed softly. "Alright, let’s take a chance."

He raised his hand toward one of the nearer planets—a dull blue sphere.

"Let’s see what secrets you hold."

The moment his choice was made, the void responded. An invisible force wrapped around him, immense and irresistible. The sensation was like being pulled through liquid light.

And he vanished from the spot.
