Liam stared at the floating screen for a long moment, his galaxy-colored eyes tracking each line of text. The transformation had been complete for less than an hour, and already everything about his existence had been rewritten.

He started with the simplest change. His lifespan had jumped from 220 years to 451 years. The number sat there on the screen, casual and absolute, like it was announcing the weather instead of the fact that he would live longer than some trees.

Four and a half centuries.

Liam tried to wrap his mind around that concept. He was eighteen. Most people his age worried about college or jobs or relationships that might last a few years. He was looking at centuries. He would watch generations come and go. He would see technologies rise and fall. He would outlive everyone he’d ever known unless they found their own path to immortality.

The weight of that realization pressed against his thoughts, heavy and strange. But he pushed it aside. Dwelling on centuries of future when he barely understood his present seemed pointless.

He focused on the next change instead.

Race: Undefined.

That was new. The race tab hadn’t existed before the transformation. Now it sat there with a designation that raised more questions than it answered.

"System, why is my race being displayed as undefined?" Liam asked.

Liam blinked. Then he read the message again, making sure he’d understood correctly.

A completely new race. Not a hybrid or a modified human or some subspecies of an existing category. Something entirely original. Something that had never existed before in any universe.

"So my race is completely new, and because of that it’s undefined and I have to name it?" Liam asked.

[Exactly, Host.]

"Do I name it now or wait?"

[You can name it whenever you want, Host.]

Liam nodded slowly. The temptation to name it immediately was strong, but he resisted. His naming sense had always been terrible, and doing it while still riding the high of his transformation seemed like a recipe for regret. Better to wait until he had time to actually think about it properly.

He turned his attention back to the status screen and noticed something missing.

The system level was gone. The functions list had vanished. Even his skills tab had disappeared, leaving only the core statistics and his constitutions visible.

"System, why is your level, functions, and my skills tab no longer being displayed?"

Liam processed that information carefully. Max level meant no more system upgrades, but it also meant everything was unlocked. Every tool, every feature, every capability the system possessed was now accessible to him.

And the sign-in rewards would vary more. That was interesting phrasing. Not better rewards or stronger rewards, but more varied. The system was telling him to expect surprises.

The skills tab being removed made sense. He wasn’t learning discrete abilities anyway. Everything had merged into his constitutions, becoming part of his fundamental nature rather than separate techniques he needed to manage.

His gaze moved to the line that mattered most.

Cultivation Level: First Stage Evolved.

Those words represented the biggest change of all. He could cultivate now.

"What does First Stage Evolved mean?" Liam asked, though he suspected the system would explain without prompting.

Liam absorbed that slowly. A unique cultivation system. Not modified or adapted from existing methods, but something built specifically for what he’d become. Five ranks with five stages each meant twenty-five total levels in the mortal category alone, and mortal was just the beginning.

The scope of it was staggering.

But having a unique system also meant he had no reference point. No masters to learn from. No texts to study. He would be figuring out everything from scratch, with only the system as his guide.

A question formed in his mind, one that would give him at least some context.

"How does my current cultivation rank compare to those in the cultivation universe and the magic universe?"

Liam’s eyebrows rose slightly. Golden Core Realm was respectable. Not peak power by any means, but far beyond the Foundation Establishment cultivators who made up the majority of practitioners. He has no idea about Expert level mage.

But one thing he knew was that he’d started at a level that would take most people years to reach.

His gaze dropped to his stats. All three physical stats now sat at 250 points, more than double what they’d been before. The uniformity was interesting.

Liam stood from the bed and walked to the center of his quarters. He flexed his hand, feeling the power that moved through his body. It wasn’t just strength in his muscles. The change went deeper than that.

His bones felt denser, like they could withstand impacts that would shatter normal human skeletons. His skin felt tougher without losing flexibility. Even his reflexes were sharper, his mind processing information faster than before.

He focused on his telekinesis. Everything had improved. Not just grown stronger, but refined.

Liam returned to the bed and looked at the status screen again, focusing on the constitution line.

Four constitutions. He recognized three of them. The Myriad Armament Constitution that let him create and wield any weapon. The Origin Devouring Body that could absorb and integrate other powers. The Dao Array Eyes that granted him vision beyond normal sight.

But the fourth one was new.

The moment he focused on those words, information flooded his mind.

It wasn’t just a powerful skeletal structure. The spine had brought with it the full inheritance of the Abyssal Dragon bloodline. Techniques, abilities, instincts, all of it embedded in his very bones. He was part dragon now, or something close enough that the distinction didn’t matter.

The dragons in the Dragon World had recognized it immediately. That’s why they’d reacted so strongly. He carried something that belonged to them, transformed into something they’d never seen before.

"Does this make me an Abyssal Dragon?" Liam asked aloud, though he was mostly talking to himself. "Or something similar?"

The question hung in the air. The system didn’t answer, which meant this was something he needed to figure out on his own. Another item added to his growing list of things to explore.

His attention shifted to the tattoos covering his body. He could see them when he looked down at his arms, the intricate artwork that had completed his transformation. The dragon sprawling across his back. The creatures decorating his chest and arms. The energy spheres on his palms.

They were beautiful. Undeniably so. But Liam knew the system well enough to understand that beauty was never the primary purpose.

"System, what do the tattoos represent?"

[The tattoos are one of the traits of your new race. The tattoo of each creature holds the inheritance of their race.]

Liam’s eyes widened. He looked down at his arms again, seeing the creatures there with new understanding. The phoenix. The white tiger. The serpent. Dozens of other beings, each rendered in perfect detail.

Each one carried an inheritance.

"Are you saying every creature tattooed on my body has given me their racial abilities?" Liam asked, needing confirmation of something that seemed impossible.

Liam sat back against the headboard, processing that response. The tattoos weren’t fully activated yet. They were potential waiting to be unlocked. As he absorbed more bloodlines with the Origin Devouring Body, the tattoos would awaken.

He looked at the phoenix on his ribs, imagining what it would mean to possess phoenix abilities. Rebirth, maybe. Fire that couldn’t be extinguished. Flight beyond normal limits.

The white tiger on his collarbone might grant speed or hunting instincts that exceeded human capability.

The serpent could offer flexibility, or venom, or wisdom that came from observing the world from a different perspective.

And there were dozens more. Each one a mystery. Each one a promise of power he hadn’t yet accessed.

"This is going to take a while to fully understand," Liam said, a smile crossing his face.

He wasn’t complaining. The complexity was exciting. Every discovery would lead to new capabilities, new ways to approach problems. He had centuries to explore what he’d become. Rushing seemed pointless.

Now that he was done with this, he was finally free and could test out his newfound ability to cultivate.
