Chapter 23: Noticeable Changes

Bellemere Mansion, Holmby Hills.

Liam drove through the gate and down the long driveway to the sloped drive-in of the underground garage.

Its door opened automatically and he drove inside, parked the Lamborghini Temerario beside the other two cars. Shutting down the car's engine, he grabbed the two shopping bags in the passenger seat and stepped out of the car with a satisfied smile on his face.

"I should bring the Maserati inside. Can't leave it outside all night," he said out loud, as he walked to the garage's interior door.

He opened the door, stepped through it and let it close, and auto-lock itself. He didn't walk to his room, as he walked to the entrance door instead.

A couple minutes later, Liam had already parked the Maserati in the garage and was now in his room.

He took off his clothes and walked to the bathroom to take his bath. After he was done, he put on something comfortable for the night and collapsed on his bed, feeling quite tired.

"What a really blessed day," he muttered to himself, as he thought of the sign-in rewards he had received.

The mansion, the cars, the money and the attribute points.

Oh, yeah. The attribute points.

"I almost forgot about them. I should allocate them now that I'm free," he said, pushing himself up to a sitting position on the bed.

He was about to pull up his status screen when his stomach growled, reminding him that he hasn't eaten anything else for the day beside the breakfast at that upscale restaurant.

I can't go out. It's already late. It's not wise to be driving around in a neighbourhood one is new to. Especially one as exclusive as this. I should order something.

Liam picked up his phone and went online, searching for nearby restaurants that do home delivery.

He quickly found one and placed his order. Since it was the first time he was using the restaurant, he had to manually input his address.

After he did, he made the payment and closed the web app.

"Hope they don't take too long though. The hunger's killing me."

"Status," he said, pulling up his status screen, as he dropped his phone on the bed.

Liam immediately allocated his attribute points, assigning 3 to Strength, 5 to Agility and 2 to Stamina.

Immediately, Liam felt that familiar warm energy flowing through his body again. But this time, it wasn't as vague as before. It seems like the stronger he gets, the better he could feel or sense the warm energy.

It started from his chest, spreading outward like warm tendrils threading through his body. It was consciously targeting specific part of his part.

As the energy flowed through his body, Liam felt some changes in his body. His muscles tightened and he felt an immense amount of dormant raw power in it.

He clenched his fist and he felt like he could punch through concrete — though he knew it was only an illusion.

That was the only changes he felt. As his stamina increased, Liam felt that his body contain an immense amount of energy.

He felt like it was infinite and that if he starts doing something physically taxing, he could go on forever without getting tired. But he naturally knew that this wasn't true and it was all an illusion.

But the biggest changes he felt was the lightness of his body . His body felt very light. Lighter than ever before. It actually made him feel like he was floating in the air.

Liam felt like if he jump right now, he might actually float away. But yeah, it was all an illusion.

But he won't lie. The feeling of growing stronger felt very good.

Strange. I felt the changes even more this time. Is it because I increased my attributes by a considerable amount of points or because I'm getting very close to the limit of what a human body can achieve?

He remembered what the system said about the limit a human can achieve being 20. He felt that the massive changes he felt was likely related to it.

It did kind of make of him curious. If he reach the limit, would he still be able to increase his strength by assigning his attributes more attribute points? Or would he need the enhancement the system talked about to continue doing that?

He was curious about this things but since it wasn't urgent. He decided to ask the system. He also felt that he might not get an answer if he asked.

"Let's see how many more points I need to hit the limit," he muttered.

"15 more attribute points to go. Curious to see what would change when I hit the limit," Liam smiled to himself.

Golden Kitchen, Beverly Hills.

The person in charge of the establishment's platform got a ping on his computer, as a new order came in.

He checked the order and its total cost, and confirmed if the person had made the payment. After the confirmation, he decided to print out the order and take it to the kitchen staffs.

As he walked to the kitchen, he curiously checked the address the client inputted for the home delivery. From the client's name in the transaction receipt, he knew that the person was new. And he was very curious to know where the person was ordering from.

His eyes moved down and he smiled when he saw the name.

"Bellemere Mansion. What a fancy sounding name," he smiled.

The next moment, his step paused as his eyes widened in shock and realisation.

"Bellemere Mansion. Wait... isn't that the mansion in the news?" He muttered to himself.

The name of the property, Bellemere Mansion, has been in the news after it was sold to a mysterious buyer. And everyone is curious to know who this mysterious buyer is. Especially people in his line of work and those that write online articles.

The staffer looked at the address once again to confirm, and the name of the client.

"Liam... Is this the guy?"

The staffer already aware of what he has to do, immediately walked to the manager's office. He knocked on the door and opened it, without receiving permission.

"What the hell, Damien?!" The male manager looked at the person that intruded into his office.

"Sorry, sir, but you might want to look at this order. It just came in. It's for Bellemere Mansion. Under the name Liam. I think we've got something big here," Damien said, giving the slip to manager.

The manager was quite annoyed with Damien and was about to scold him but when he heard what he said, he pivoted from annoyance to sharp curiosity.

He reached out and picked up the slip, and went through it. Just like Damien, his eyes widened in shock when he saw the address and name.

"Liam... Bellemere Mansion... Are you sure that it's really the owner? It might be just someone posing," he said in a low voice.

"I doubt it, sir. You know how things are in the Platinum Triangle. Who would dare use such a high profile property to pose? They would only be trying to get themselves killed," Damien replied.

"That's true," the manager nodded slowly.

Damien was right. In Beverly Hills, Bel-Air and Holmby Hills—the Platinum Triangle society, claiming a famous residence without the credentials would be social and financial suicide. No one would dare to do that. Especially in an elite area in LA.

"I guess we have a new VIP client. Make sure to tag him in the system," he instructed, "I will oversee this order and make sure it reflects the best of our services."

Damien nodded and left the office. The manager pressed the intercom on his desk and called for the establishment's most trusted delivery personnel, and told him to wait for him.

After he did that, he stood up and went to the kitchen.

"Chef, we have a very special VVIP order. Take very special care of it," he said, as he handed the order slip to the head chef.

The chef looked at the order and he saw the address. He smiled in realisation and immediately got to work. He understood that this was a chance for him to show off his skill and secure themselves a very reputable customer.

He made the meal, pouring everything he had into it — a performance-level effort that turned cooking into art, and the manager oversaw everything. After he was done, the kitchen assistants diligently packaged the meal and securely loaded it into the delivery car.

"Ben, drive carefully. Also, if possible, try to get a view of the person's face. A picture would be better but be discreet about it. Don't be disrespectful," the manager said to the delivery personnel.

He's just trying to gather a bit of information about the so called "mysterious buyer".

In elite business circles, staff gossip and low-key intel gathering isn't uncommon — especially when a mysterious billionaire suddenly orders food from a newly purchased megamansion.

Since he had already told Ben to not be disrespectful, it was enough to tell the delivery driver that he wasn't being sent to act like paparazzi. He's just being curious while maintaining boundaries

"I got it, boss," Ben said and got into the restaurant-branded Toyota Prius. He started the engine and drove off to the delivery address.

As he watched the back of the car fade into the distance, the manger muttered to himself, "If this goes well, we might just secure the most valuable client we've ever had."
