104: Pre-war preparations

night lamp went to gather intelligence, while Xi Hai quickly began his pre-battle deployment.

Having decided to fight, Xi Hai needed to figure out where his advantages lay—

First, there were the two thousand groups of aircraft.

According to the intelligence gathered by night lamp, due to the loss of positioning and recovery technologies, the natives here had not developed carrier-based aircraft or aircraft carriers; the anti-aircraft firepower on those Warships was designed to defend against Boarding Craft;

Second was the Warp Engine; as long as the landing point was calculated, it could achieve an elusive, ghost-like effect;

And then there was that remote-controlled Clones technology—

He only just realized now that the usefulness of this life-saving artifact went far beyond just keeping himself alive!

Wasn't he just short on manpower?

If he applied this technology to those soldiers, wouldn't that create an immortal Legion?

Moreover, through repeated deaths, the combat skills of his subordinates would also rapidly improve!

Damn! How did he only think of this now?

Never mind, it just so happened that he had previously been thinking about cultivating a batch of seven-year Clones,

at least now he had the clone bodies; telling his subordinates later wouldn't be too late.

Then, it was time to identify his disadvantages:

Without a doubt, the most pressing one was the massive disparity in troop strength between him and the incoming "guests"—

All his Warships combined did not exceed 2,000, while the enemy had at least 7,000 Warships,

and as a regular army, their combat experience would be countless tiers ahead of his subordinates.

In summary, staying in the space station and playing a siege game with the enemy was the most irrational course of action;

that would be using his own weaknesses to attack their strengths.

A rough plan had gradually taken shape in his mind,

and without a moment's hesitation, Xi Hai immediately headed to the central control room to issue mobilization orders.

—Ten minutes later—

The six Pathfinder bases, which had been operating at full capacity, all suspended production and retracted in place to become base ships;

everyone gathered in the Starport assembly hall and was boarding the ships in an orderly fashion.

The 2,000 Pilots, as well as Gunnar and his Ultramarines, were kept behind by Xi Hai—

Xi Hai stood on a high platform makeshiftly constructed from several crates, looking at the swarming crowd of over 7,000 people below. He patted a clone pod beside him and said:

"Everyone here, I now have a very glorious mission to entrust to you!"

Below:

"What does Boss mean by this?"

"He's saying he's gotten us some super WAAAAAGH thing again!"

"He's going to take us to do some super WAAAAAGH stuff again!"

"WAAAAGH!!!"

"WAAAAGH!!!"

"Alright, alright, settle down."

Watching the crowd below, which had inexplicably erupted into a frenzy, Xi Hai raised his hands and made a downward pressing motion,

and immediately, the crowd that had been WAAAAAGH-ing just a second ago fell silent.

"The thing in front of me now is a tool for remotely controlling Clones."

"In theory, as long as we lie in another Hibernation Pod, we can then control the Clones to carry out operations while ensuring the safety of our original bodies."

"It doesn't matter if the Clones die, because you are only remotely controlling them using communication waves emitted by the cultivation tanks,"

"With this thing, we can avoid a lot of unnecessary casualties!"

"It's just that..."

After the introduction, Xi Hai suddenly changed his tone,

and the people below had their attention drawn by this sudden turn,

they all stared intently at Xi Hai, until—

"It is still just an experimental product that has only just been completed,"

"We cannot be certain if it is useful."

"Are you willing to be its first batch of users?"

A brief silence—

"Does Boss mean that with that thing, we can WAAAAAGH without caring about our lives?"

"No, you heard him say it's only possible."

"Then what was our original plan?"

"To WAAAAAGH without caring about our lives!"

"So, as long as it works, we can repeatedly WAAAAAGH without caring about our lives?"

"It seems... yes?"

"Then that is just too WAAAAAGH!!!"

"Boss!! Such a good thing, and you brought it to us just as it came out of the oven,"

"It's just too WAAAAAGH!!!"

"With such a WAAAAAGH Boss, what should we do?"

"Loyalty! WAAAAAGH!!!"

"Loyalty! WAAAAAGH!!!"

Watching the fired-up crowd, Xi Hai struck while the iron was hot and asked:

"Are you willing to be its first batch of testers?"

The chaos lasted only a short while; under the organization of Gunnar's booming voice, the voices below gradually became uniform—

"Willing! Willing! Willing!"

"Very good!"

"The 2,000 Pilots will first go to the No. 2 warehouse next door; that is the equipment room!"

"Complete the change quickly, and after familiarizing yourselves with the clone bodies, immediately board your ships and head to the designated locations sent to you in the plan!"

"Yes!"

The 2,000 Pilots marched in formation toward the No. 2 warehouse—under Norma's training, these guys at least had some discipline.

Watching the formation, which was slightly neater than college students in military training, Xi Hai mentally gave Norma some extra points, then walked toward Gunnar.

"Commander!"

Seeing Xi Hai walk up to him, Gunnar hurriedly clenched his right fist and struck his chest in a salute.

"How is it? Can the people sent over build prosthetic limbs?"

Looking at Gunnar standing at attention, Xi Hai asked with concern:

Upon hearing this question, Gunnar immediately became enthusiastic:

"Commander! They sure can!!!"

"He is simply the most genius guy I have ever seen!!!"

"Not just prosthetic limbs, he even designed a super WAAAAAGH thing for our wounded!!!"

Xi Hai, watching Gunnar in front of him, who was so excited his face was flushed red, also had his curiosity piqued.

He first looked at the formation; everyone had hands and feet,

then he asked:

"Where is it? Is there a finished product? Let me see."

Gunnar said proudly:

"Yes, Commander,"

"There is already a test machine!"

"We have already brought it over and were just about to let you see it!"

As he spoke, he took out a small walkie-talkie and said:

"Kane! Come down and let the Commander have a look!"

A voice immediately came from the other side:

"Okay!"

Almost simultaneously, a series of "thump, thump, thump" sounds came from afar,

—that was the sound of steel colliding.

Listening to the metallic footsteps getting closer, for some reason, an ominous premonition suddenly arose in Xi Hai's heart—

Wait? It wouldn't be...

"Thump!"

The source of that sound walked up in front of him.

Xi Hai opened his eyes to see—

Short, stubby tapered mechanical legs, a boxy upper body embedded with missiles, two small mechanical arms covered in weapons,

and, in the very center, where it looked like a cockpit, a small observation window.

He felt his vision go dark—

To be able to design something like this, it didn't matter who you hired to help at home.

This! Isn't this just a knock-off dreadnought!

At this moment, Gunnar stepped forward and opened the cockpit,

and a more hellish scene appeared before his eyes—

A person who had lost all four limbs, with tubes and wires connected to his body, was fixed inside that cramped, tight cockpit,

and after locking eyes with Xi Hai, the guy even smiled at Xi Hai like a child showing off a toy.

"Gunnar, I will only ask one thing,"

"Did the person who designed this thing take any hallucinogenic drugs?"

Gunnar even thought about it carefully, then answered with certainty:

"No."

Damn.

Then where on earth did his inspiration come from!!!

...

(I will make up for the extra update during the day!)
